Harris Teeter: Super Doubles may be a no go

Several people have seen the ad and there is NO mention of Super Doubles. I'm not sure if HT is planning to do an unadvertised SD but I guess we will find out Wednesday.

I was in HT last night and the cashier asked me if i was getting ready for wednsedays SD, I acted surprised but I did ask if there was going to be anything good,he said you gotta wait and see............I am not 6 this is not Christmas Eve, please someone get the ad!

Geez they are really keeping us on our toes with this one. I keep seeing posts about it not happening because the ad is out with no mention of it.

Maybe HT is going the way of Bloom which is having superdoubles this past weekend until tomorrow. There was no mention of it in the Bloom ad but it was advertised in the major newspapers of the regions having the superdoubles (Washington Post in NoVA). Perhaps we need to keep an eye on the newspapers instead of the ad, lol!

I saw a 'rumor' on another forum that there would be no SD, but it could have had its origins here.

I get that people who work for HT or otherwise have an 'in' can't say what their source is when they go around shouting CONFIRMED, but this is kind of annoying. :)

The last time my harris teeter had super doubles, we did not receive the ad a day early on Tuesday. When Wednesday's paper came, there is was.....Super Doubles. Maybe they are playing and doing that again this time. The woman from Maryland received her preview paper today which did not include the super doubles. Maybe her paper tomorrow will tell a different story! Fingers crossed!!!

All the ladies in a Mom's Group I belong to are in a state of suspended shock & awe! No one knows if SD's are confirmed, unconfirmed, etc etc and EVERYONE seems to know someone who works at HT (their headquarters is right down the highway) that is either saying YES or NO.
They did a "skip a week" in between sales last time so even if it is unadvertised, etc we will still get our SD's....
IF NOT - at least we have another week to hunt, collect, match, and get ready!!
Keeping my fingers crossed though!

The way I see it: If you can't control your leaks, then your best strategy is to feed your people (employees) all kinds of misinformation. Wonder if HT is finally wising up.

Anybody who doesn't "get" couponing would think we all need to go straight to the looney bin for having all these discussions about whether super d's are coming or not :) If the misinformation (go/no go) is intentional it is a brilliant move on their part. What's that old saying about the only bad press being if they spell your name wrong? I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that my Q's expiring on 9/30 don't have to go in the trash.....

I honestly will be relieved if not. I always go way over budget during SDs and I'm super busy this week, so my guilt will be alleviated if they don't go :D

Brilliant - not quite. It only took them how many years to do the obvious? Real conspiracy theorists would argue they are using misinformation not only to confuse/play couponers, but also to weed out their internal leaks. If I were a HT employee or contractor, I would keep my lips shut from here on out.
