Use up those 9/30 exp date coupons!! Finish shopping for all those 9/30 exp date MIRs!! Hurry!! :hysterical:

ETA: I will be away again from the PC from Tues night thru Fri afternoon. I am (against my better judgement) helping to chaperone a 3-day 2-night camping trip for my DS's entire school, mainly because DH & I don't know anyone there yet & it's a long time to leave a 6yo by himself. As of today, the weather is: rain, temps in the 40's during the days, and rain/snow mix with temps in the 30's at night. We're sleeping in tents. I hope my son looks back on this some day and realizes what a wonderful mother I am... :rolleyes24: So, sorry - just know that I would much rather be online with you all and/ or shopping at Albies.

I can not imagine an entire school camping trip. Is this a private school. I am with you on not being willing to leave my 6yo in a strangers hands for that long even if it is his school. (DS1 is 5 and I have a hard time leaving him overnight at gmas)

Should include a spend $20 or more and get $5 oyno for Smuckers, Jif PB Crisco Eagle milk Pillsbury folgers and more. I got a cat preview for it the other day, it says Effective 9/30 to 10/6 and shows those products.

Oh, I so need a deal on Eagle Brand. That would be great!

And to jenrose, yes, it's a private school. Not our first choice. We have a feeling it's gonna be a looong school year.

Because of My location in Montana, there were very few "couponers" till i started teaching classes...now over 800 in my area.....So, i meet with the co-mgr every monday because they do projected ordering for sales 4 weeks away.....Last monday, he asked what kind of coupons were available for Quaker...he said that it would be between this coming week and the first two weeks of October....he also said that Prego would be a HUGE HUGE loss leader of around "a buck or less"(his words)...I tell what coupons are available, so he knows how much to order...He also allows us to "pre-pay" and then we don't have to get rain checks....we just pay for it, and when it comes in....they call us or most of the time, he calls me and I call the "coupon ladies".

It works out quite well, especially with the classes...now I have started working with the clients of the food bank....I give free classes for the clients at the food bank, salvation army, and the child development center plus, i help provide Q's for the food bank to purchase pantry items....in over a month since working with them...they have save over $4000 on pantry items for the food bank....Now, they are able to stretch their budget as well. it just feels wonderful to help those that otherwise couldn't help themselves.

Around here the food banks recycle newspapers, it is so frustrating and ironic that all those coupon inserts in there are being turned into more paper instead of food.

charmingmoms
09-27-2009, 09:33:03 PM
well, we don't have inserts in our papers at all...just a "token" insert every 9 weeks...but I have been having meeting with our paper to get inserts in them by thanksgiving.....

Now, anyone have any idea on a preview? I am just sitting on pins/needles....so exciting to wait for the new ad.....it's almost the same excitement when I was waiting to see if I was expecting....well, I said almost.....

The center section has a bunch of Q's but they are manufacurers this time so no doubling up there. They never used to do MQ's in their ads but are now mixing them in. Another thing to watch out for.

Also their is a Pillsbury refrigerated dough cat that starts on the 5th. No luck with them being on sale this ad though. Hopefully next week.

Thanks to Superbob we get the ad early each week. Thanks to Superbob we know about deals that we wouldn't otherwise know about. Thanks to Superbob we get UPC lists for catalina deals.

I'm not sure you know what a "Money Maker" is, CollegeCookbook. Most of us here are trying to make money- not money in hand but in catalinas to use in the store. I sort of think that is the whole purpose of couponing- to make our money stretch as far as possible. And since this deal has been posted far and wide over blogosphere, it can be hard to find. You win some, you lose some.

Just wanted to ad... THANKS TO SUPERBOB! WAHOO!

Here are some matchups to go with the cat:

Crisco oils - $1/2 6/7 rp
Crisco olive oil .75/1 09/13rp
Folgers coffee $1/2 9/20rp
Jiff (and Smuckers Jam) $1/2 8/16SS, 8/9rp
Millstone coffee $1/1 tearpad, 8/23rp
Pillsbury baking items $1/2 tearpad
Pillsbury frosting .40/1 9/27rp
Pillsbury minis brownie mix $.40 9/27 (this is what the database shows, I thought we got coupons for cake mix)

nateNnatsmommy

Nestle cookie dough is $2, free if you have the pink peelies (did someone already post that?) There is also a $1/1 IP, and possibly a $1/1 in 9/13rp?

This is off topic, but I'm confused:

If you go down the cake mix aisle, it seems like Betty Crocker and Pillsbury cake mixes are competitors. However, you can find coupons for Pillsbury rolls and cookie doughs on the BETTY CROCKER website. (Also all of these have the box tops except for the Pillsbury cake stuff I think). So what's the deal? Are Betty Crocker and Pillsbury owned by the same company, or not? :shrug7:

Mission corn tortillas $1.49, double .75/1 8/9 SS = FREE

Mott Applesauce $2 double $1/1 IP in database = FREE (I couldn't get this IP to print)

Totino's Pizza rolls $1 each (did we get $1/2 in 8/9 GM, 7/12 RP, or 9/13 GM?) if we got $1/2, double for FREE or .30 each if double .35/1

Scotch Brite Scouring pads are BOGO, possibly good deal with doubling .75/2 9/20 rp

Soft Scrub scrubby pads $2.50 each - double $1/1 9/13 SS, IPs in Database = .50 each

the Kleenex deal is at Safeway:

buy 3 of the 110 ct boxes, UPC 0 36000 28 110 1
they are priced .99 each - use any coupons you have (my store had .50/3) blinkies. You'll get back a $3 CAT when you buy these.

If you buy 6 in a transaction, you will still only get one $3 cat, so only buy three per transaction.

They are on sale 2/$4, plus it says there is a $1 Q on the back of the ad. That Q says $2.49. There has to be an error. I'm thinking they should be $1.50 each after the Q but someone will have to check it out. I won't have time til the weekend.

I found these Millstone Qs at Safeway as well, right in front of the coffee - "$1 off any 1/2 lb or more bulk or 10oz or larger prepack." Looks like I'll need to go back for more of those and Kleenex. Where did you find the TPQ?

I found some at FM, on the front of the glass case near the checkstands.

I never did find those q's for the Jennie-O Turkey. I looked at 3 different Albies, and Safeway, and NADA!

I need your coupon advice. I went to my Albies yesterday to buy the Propel Antioxidant Waters for .47 cents each. A week ago, my Albies had a tear pad coupon for .55 off 1 so I was going to buy 24 Propel and use 20 coupons but the Assistant standing next to the checker told me that I couldn't use the coupons because they were for more than the price of the item and they won't get reimbursed the whole .55. She then told me that it was fraud to use a coupon that is more than the price of the item. I am confused about this issue. A manufacturer makes a coupon for this price but a store won't take it because they are charging less for that item even though I bought extra to make up for the difference and the coupon will scan. So what is the official policy on something like this? I bought 20 Propel two weeks ago when they were priced @ .50 each and used the .55 cent coupons then with no problem. I just want to do this the right way. I don't want to cheat anyone out of anything so any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Betty

Betty I don't know what Albertsons official policy is on allowing coupons for over the ammount of the purchase price of the coupon. But to say that they cannot take the coupon period or that you are commiting fraud is incorrect. It is not your fault that the sale price (or clearance price or whatever price) is under the value of the coupon. Stores can adjust the price of the coupon to the price of the item, or they can adjust the price of the item to the price of the coupon. OR they can just scan the freeking coupons and let you get the overage and apply it to your other purchases in your order. LOL

My Albertsons just scans them and lets me have the overage. YMMV. Overage is nice, but should not really be expected. But the stores will get reimbursed for the full value of the coupon plus the 8 cents handling fee. So the cashier was misinformed on that one. Next time, ask to speak to the store manager.

mine let's me have the overage also , I have been doing it all week with though's .55 coupon's , so your store need's to not say it is fraud ,

I went to a safeway the other day to get some AMP's they would have all been free with my $1.00 coupon's I had , but these coupon have never ever scanned , I have used over 60 of them and not one scanned , so they alway's look at the coupon and override it and put it in for me , but this one cashier kept looking at I know it is right cause I used so many of them I even said these never scanned , but I have like 50 other coupon's to use for other thing's , so a huge line was behind me and I said to the other customer , wow the coupon police , that guy said Ya I know ,

That cashier said NO I AM NOT THE COUPON POLICE I AM LOOKING CAUSE YOU ARE USING AND IT IS FRAUD , I was like WHAT??????????????? The manager came over and said oh no thoughs are real and good coupons . DUH!!!!!!!!!

I really hate when they don't know how to do their job and blame us all with coupon FRAUD makes me so mad ,

Update: I called Customer Service and the lady really didn't know what the policy was but would forward my case to the Regional Manager which I really didn't want to happen. I ended up calling the store manager and he said he didn't see why they shouldn't have taken the coupons. The manager talked with one of his top Assistants and came back to tell me that they should have just adjusted the coupons for the amount of the item so I wouldn't get any overage. I called Propel to find out about how they accept reimbursements for coupons and he said some stores just write down how much they sold the item for but most stores just send them in at face value for full reimbursement. He didn't see why they didn't just scan it at face value when the store is going to get that much back anyway. I don't mind just getting the item for free but I was bugged that I was told they couldn't accept the coupon at all and that it was considered coupon fraud. I guess the propel is on sale for .50 so I can go in and get them all for free. I feel sorry for the cashier who has to change every coupon to .50 from .55. I don't see what the big deal is, they're getting .55 back anyway.

Honestly, to me the practice of adjusting down the amount of the coupon to .50 and then getting reimbursed for .55 from the manufacturer sounds kind of fraudulent on the store's part. Hopefully they'll just give you the overage - why should the store be making an extra five cents on each coupon?

I was told at Walgreens once that adjusting the price by 1c ($1 Q on 99c item) was coupon fraud. I wish they would just have the sale prices match the coupons and we would all be happy :)
It annoyed me that they put out the 55c TP Qs the night before they went on sale for 47c.
