I have a rain check from Dec 22, '08 for Iceland Health Joint Relief ($29.99) that gives $29.99 ECBs making the product free after bucks. There is a code on the rain check, but when I went to use it today the shift supervisor said it was over the max limit that she couldn't override.
I called Cust Care, and the rep said she can't find the promotion in any ad during Dec '08. The rep said she couldn't authorize the super to give me the ECBs.
I even had another rain check from the exact same ad for the Arm & Hammer Essentials ($2.99, receive $2.99 ECBs). She did find that ad, but said she can't find anything for the Iceland Health product.
Does anyone remember this promotion (I realize this has been awhile)? Mods, do you achive CVS posts containing ad scans? Would you have Dec '08? I'm on a mission here. Please HELP!!

UPDATE: Thanks to Google, I was able to locate the Dec 21 - 27 ad scan and found the ad for the Iceland product. I've since contact Cust Relations and they've resolved the problem and are giving me $5 ECBs for the inconvenience. I'm satisfied!!

:-) Glad you got the problem solved, and thanks for posting an update letting us know how you did it.
I didn't know btw there is a max. limit on RC EBs. What is it, $20 or $25?

I'm quite sure it is $20 (at my stores anyways). Anything over $10 requires a manager's key, so most of my cashiers always ask if it is ok to "divide" the ECB into smaller parts so they do not have to bother the busy manager.

The issue I see with using a raincheck that old is that the store gets NO CREDIT for it. It is counted as a LOSS. I am not sure how comfortable I would be with using a raincheck for that high of an amount that they would have counted against them. Just my thoughts on it.

It's not the OP's fault that the store was out of the product when it was on sale, or that their system is set up to penalize them for rainchecks. Why should she not get what they are offering?

Which is even better, especially if the ECB is as big as this. I will have a hard time rolling $29.99 ECB

This is all news to me, that the store gets no credit for a raincheck that old, that it is counted as a loss, and that the system is set up to penalize them for rainchecks.
At what age does a raincheck result in the store not getting credit and taking it as a loss?
And is the system set up to penalize the store (by which I assume you mean give them no credit / treat it as a loss) for all rainchecks, regardless of age? Or just rainchecks past a certain age?
Or did you mean a different kind of penalty when you said the store is penalized? i.e., maybe a smaller bonus for the store manager(s) or special attention from Loss Prevention or, well, really not sure what type of penalties there might be for store.
Does the penalty go to the store that issued the raincheck or the store that redeems the raincheck for the customer?
Edited: I started a new thread (http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/cvs-buzz/278253-cvs-do-stores-get-penalized-rainchecks-particularly-older-rainchecks.html)for my questions, because it seems like its own separate topic from the original topic of this thread, and also because I don't know if people will continue to look at this thread since the original issue has been resolved.

My manager told me that they still bill the manufacturer for the ECB, no matter how old, so at least at my store they don't take any loss.
