Here's the email I sent and the response I received. Perhaps it will help someone else if they have problems. Does anyone think I should take it and have a conversation with the store director? ...let it go? ...carry it with me in case of future problems?
For the MealBox Co-Ordinator.
I was unable to use mealbox coupons for the five boxes of 100 calorie snacks when I went to the Rochester Hills, MI Meijer last week Friday.
They refused to allow me to use the MB coups because they said the $5 "on the spot" was a Meijer promotion and the MB coups state "can't be combined with a Meijer promotion."
I said that was a Kraft Foods promo but they wouldn't budge. I went through the uscan cashier, two middle mgt supervisors and 20 minutes of my time before I gave up.
They didn't think it was important when I told them the computer accepted the MB coupons just fine allowing me to scan and insert MB coupons.
The coupons I used also didn't exceed the cost of the product either.
I went to a Meijer near my work where I had done this exact deal earlier in the week without problems there.
So, whose right?
If the $5 "on the spot" deal was a Meijer promo and not Kraft, why would one Meijer store accept MB coupons and not another (on 2 different days!)?
Why would the Meijer computer system accept the MB coupons with any problems?
If a deduction shows under the item on the receipt, does that mean it's a Meijer promo and thus mean that a MB coupon can't be used by the customer?
Thank you for your time and please respond via email
Here's the response...I received it in just one day!
Dear B----,
I apologize for the frustration you faced the other day. There should not have been any problems with the $5 "On the Spot" special and the MealBox coupon. They do not cancel each other out, the MealBox coupons can not be used with any other Meijer coupons, not in store specials. We will be working on our end to clear up the matter in the stores. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and please let me know if you have any further problems.
