Hi! I consider myself to be a semi-pro grocery couponer and I'm teaching a couponing class at my church next month; and I KNOW there will be questions about CVSing, so I figured I should try it out so I can answer any questions about it.

Can you tell me if this scenario works and if it seems like a good deal? Keep in mind that it will be my very first trip, so I have no ECBs currently and I'm trying to get some earned.

This is based on the sneek peek for 9/27.

10 ECB WYB $25.00 of Proctor and Gamble Products limit 1
Charmin Big Rolls 16 pk $10 - .25/1 Q
Bounty Basic 6 Big Rolls $6 - 0.25/1 Q
Tide liquid 24-32 loads or powder 31-40 loads $6 - $1 Q
Bounce Dryer Bar 1 ct or Tide Stain Release 20 oz liquid or Duo Pack 10 ct $4 - $1 Q

My total would be $26, then I'd use the flu shot quiz $5 coupon, then my MQs for $2.50, and I'd be left paying $18.5 oop and get $10 ECB back.

Is that reasonable considering I'm starting from scratch? I think I read on here to start with a max. of $20 and just try to get EBCs and roll them from there on out. Did I do anything wrong? Could it be better? Are the P&G products limited to the ones I saw in the sneek peek thread, or can I get any of the ones I find in the store that match my Qs?

TIA!!!!

That looks pretty good to me!! I'm not a pro.. still a newbie and I shop at CVS.. So I"m going to check back on this and see what others say about your scenario because I'm still learning. Good luck on your class!!

That looks pretty good to me. What about doing the Vaseline Sheer Infusions MM deal? There is a $1.50/1 printable, so you could do:

(1) Vaseline 7.99
-1.50 IP
=$6.50 OOP, get back 7 eb

Then do your scenario above, and use the 7 eb to go toward your cost, so you'd pay $18.50-7 eb= $11.50, get back 10 eb.

It's $18 total oop for everything, and you get the Vaseline stuff, too... I don't know if you want it, but it's another option. :wink7:

Awesome, I got that IP for the lotion and will add that in there. :thanks7:
Is it acceptable to do 2 transactions one right after the other in the store or should I go to the CVS down the road for the 2nd transaction? Is that frowned upon? EEkkk! Time to but my big girl panties on a try it I guess!

If there is no one in line behind me,I will do 4 in a row. The key to ECBS is using them to pay down your oop and getting more back for the next transaction. If the store is busy,I will do one transaction and then just go to the back of the line. After you do your first transaction and get your ECB'S simply tear it off the receipt (carefully of course) and use it on the next transaction.

The CVS's that I go to are VERY nice about doing more than one trans... I tell them up front-- I have 2 transactions today, is that ok? And they never have a problem.. I haven't done more than 2 at a time.. I usually will go back another day if I have more than 2 trans (I have multiple CVS near home and office).
