Walgreens Clearance: Domino Sugar 5lbs & 1lb

The 5 lbs was .80 and the 1 lb was .37. There are printables and .30/1 or .35/2 2lbs or more 8/30 RP.

As I was walking into Walgreens today I saw a lady with a cartful of domino sugar. Of course I asked the cashier and she said "we just marked it down to .80 and that lady took them all!

Was this a special packaging that was being clearanced? I only checked one store, but it was $3.19 for the 5lb bag and $1.39 for the 1lb canister. Too bad. :(

It was still $3.19 at mine. My DH is out of town this week for his job. There are three Walgreens in the town where he is. He went and checked for me. Two of them had it for .80, and at the other one it was $3.19. Yes, he had them scan it. So go figure, who knows how they determine . Anyway, he got me 10 bags, which I will share with my Mom and older DDs.

My Walgreen's has alot of Orange Clearance Tags through out the store. The sales associate who clued me into the mark down didn't know why they were on clearance. I live in Southern Maine

Count your lucky stars! My dh is on board w/ my couponing but he would NEVER go to the store for me, let alone have them scan or BUY 10 bags of sugar! :wink7:

I am so bummed. I went to get cheap sugar today and not a bag to be had. Come to think of it, most everything with an orange clearance tag
was gone. I did get a few things but nothing that I went specifically there
for.

My store still had them marked at $3.19 but they rang up $0.80. I grabbed the last 2.

Thanks! I read about this and decided to go right now to see if they had any at my walgreens. They did!! It was not marked down but i asked the lady to price check it for me and it was .80 cents!! I used (4) .35 cents off coupon, it made to .45 cents for each 5 pound bag. Thanks for posting!! good find.

Oh, man so they are actually .80 even tho they have orange last chance offer of $3.19 on them? To think I took two toddlers and drove to two WG just to see if sugar is .80 and then I did not even ask, when I saw the price:shrug7::shrug7::shrug7:, I feel so silly now.

I decided to drive to town yet again, and I bought milk and one bag of sugar. I payed and then checked my receipt, saw it was indeed .80, went back in and got another 12 bags. I left at least another 12 there. A lady behind me asked after we were putting our stuff in the van, if the sugar is on sale, I told her to go back in and grab some for the price of .80 each. She was very greatful, just as I am to the OP.

I scored 1 bag at one WAGs (no clearance tag--had cashier scan it....80 cents). Went to another WAGs down the road, it had clearance tags, 80 cents, there were 6 on the shelf, I asked the AM on duty if they had anymore in the stockroom-----he found me 8 more.........ended up with a total of 15-5 lb bags. :BigHand:I used all of my 35/1 one Qs; but I will buy more if I come across it. :wink7:

Check again tommorow. Yesterday one of the stores my dh went to was still $3.19. He went back to that one tonight and it was .80. I ended up with 21 bags altogether and I left several on the shelves. My dh got me 12 and I got 9. I do a LOT of baking so this will help so much. I will also share it with several people.

My Walgreens has a tag for $.80 for Domino however they have all been purchased :sad: I'm going to check a couple of other Walgreens when I get a chance and hope for the best...good luck all. I'm in the DFW area of TX by the way.

I started yesterday hunting down the Sugar okay.. and here is what I found this is to cute....
finally i found a store that had (1) 5.lb on the shelf. so I took it to the register and SURE nuh, it rang up .80 cent so went I check out there were 2 ladies that passed by me walking out the store and she said to me you got the last sugar.. I said yes MAM..
I went to another store and they had 5 on the shelf. So I took 1 to the counter and ask for a price check well needless to say it rang up $3.19 so I put it back.
But there had the 1 lb. in a container so I ask to price check that it rang up..37 cent so I got all 4 of them.
well, the same 2 ladies I ran into at the other store came in there. so she took the 5 sugar they had on the shelf and went straight for the register and it rang up $3.19 . so she call a manager up there and they DIDN"T let her have it for .80 cent .. so she LEFT the Sugar behind..

So be on the look out for the 1.lb container they are ringing up .37 cent..

end of story... just wanted to share that with ya'll

I think the reason why they are on clearance is because they are replacing domino brand with imperial sugar brand. Notice next week's ad on front page has imperial sugar for $1.99 with store coupon instead of domino? They always had domino on sale.

Was finally able to find these at $.80 for the 5lb bag at *one* of the 5 stores I went to yesterday. But I was able to get 8 bags and I had $.35/1 coupons, so I'm a happy camper. After finding them, I checked back at the original store I posted about and the shelf is now marked $.80 but they were out.

I don't think that's it because I found the Imperial sugar 4 pounds on sale for 80 cents. I bought five bags of the Domino 5 pound bags at one store and went looking for it at another. Found the Imperial with a shelf tag of 80 cents, bought one, and that's what it rang up. Odd.

My manager told me that they were changing to Imperial sugar and that was the reason for clearancing the Domino sugar! I found 5 last night and went today just to take my daughter to the bathroom, and the shelf was packed with it. I bought 8 more and left lots on the shelf. My working friends were so excited to know I found some for them!

At 6:30 this morn, our store is substituting the Domino for the Imperial, so $1.99 for 5 lbs rather than for 4. Then the cashier told me they are selling the Domino until it is gone (at the price match), then they will bring out the Imperial.

Hard to get the good clearance deals here.
