Kmart GRRRRRRR CS now saying that the doubles is only going to be for P&G coupons

I called CS to ask about which Iowa stores were going to participate. First she told me she didn't have a list yet. (Interesting because I emailed about Missouri and got a list). Then she tells me to call back next week. I said "umm by next week the event will already be happening." So the she says "I apologize you are right call back Friday we should have a list then". Then she proceeds to tell me that this event as of right now is only going to be for P&G coupons. I think we should flood them with emails and phone calls telling them we won't be shopping if that is the case. I am going to be so mad if this turns out to be true. I ordered coupons just for this.

Oh boy, K isn't going to win any popularity contests with all of their recent waffling and changing of rules and limits. I wish they would just be consistent.
I'm going to wait and see what the ad states, my stores will go by the published limits. I should have the ad in the mail by Thursday.

I bet someone earlier was right, they didn't want to do any doubles, but P&G already had it printed on their upcoming inserts. That said, it sounds like they are still trying to figure out how to deal with this..who knows it might change by Sunday!

the back peddling has started!! it is funny some people got the standard doubles email and some didnt. i got the p&g email today and the "email later today and we should have a list of stores available"....now they are saying friday....nice....i think they have started to wait until the last possible minute to list doubles so couponers cant get coupons ready. the last two doubles the ad wasnt posted until that day

I don't see how the computer will be able to distinguish between P&G coupons and I don't see the cashiers paying much attention either, as they usually don't. But, this would be a big blow for K-mart. I just got my ads today and my ads have the coupons in them. There is a Red Plum and P&G. The Red Plum has a $2 on Lea and Perrins worcestershire sauce, which could be free or really cheap. My husband loves this stuff, so I am going to be pretty upset if the doubling is just P&G, as I just ordered 20 coupons off of ebay. Does your P&G have an ad for the Kmart doubles. I already emailed Kmart and told them that I thought this would hurt their business if they only doubled P&G coupons. It is absolutely not worth my drive if they only do P&G. I live in Iowa, but am going to be in Missouri visiting family and there were 5 of us planning on making an hour and a half drive to Kansas City for the doubles. We sure won't go if it is only P&G coupons. I ordered several sets of coupons for this and have been trying to get ready too so I know your pain.:sad:

I honestly don't think they care what the cutomer says and they don't seem to be too concerned about losing business. I live in MN and they have not had doubles here since late winter/early spring this year. (They still double in the 3 stores that border WI and the Dakotas, but no others.)

I have e-mailed, called and written letters expressing that I no longer give my busness to KMart, as they do not seem to think Minnesotans are worthy of doubles. Nothing has changed, still no doubles here :shrug7: I no longer go to KMart for anything...ever. I watch the board here just in case they bring doubles back to my area. That is the only reason I would go back to KMart.

According to the two emails I received from Kmart CS, Iowa stores participating are: Davenport, Dubuque & Sioux City. So just border cities. They also said P&G coupons only, $25 minimum, no more than 4 of the same coupon - and the final straw - a limit of only 5 coupons per transaction! Since our local Kmart has prices a lot higher than Target & Walmart this round isn't going to be worth messing with. I even emailed a second time for clarification because this seems pretty crazy. I'd frankly rather go with "wearing purple and carrying a calico cat" as noted by a prior comment - LOL.

I understand what you are saying but it is conceivable that they could program the registers to only double P&G products. I don't think it would be that difficult since all P&G coupons start with the same set of numbers. That is my only worry.

that is not exactly correct, with the calico cat you can use only 5 P&G coupons, however if u have an orange tabby, well then u can use 10 P&G coupons....

With KMart shopping, double days or not, treat it like a game of Russian roulette and you will not be disappointed :giggle2:

First, have no fear about ONLY PG coupons doubling, I'm sure they will not even notice nor know what came out of the brandsaver inserts or not. Second, regarding limit of 5 coupons per transaction, although it is strictly YMMV, I've read from previous doubles that many stores ignored limits and even allowed customers to separate transactions so they can shop till they drop.

Bottomline here is Sears should look into KMart (mis)management to find out who's in charge, if there is any. From the looks of it, there don't seem to be anyone in charge. They should put their act together if they want KMart to stay afloat. Many of their stores are already closing, I doubt if there are any left by the end of the year.

I live in West Virginia and there are only three stores doing it here the nearest one is about an hour away vs my closest store which is only 5 minutes away :sad: This was gonna be my first time doing a doubles event and now i am sad. I dont think its worth the drive to only safely use procter and gamble coupons while attempting the others and see if i can push the limit past 10.

OH well, I have only been in kmart once in the last 2 years on a hunt for a particular toy for my son. The time before that i bought a candy bar at the last minute while i was waiting in line to check out. It tasted horrible and when i looked at the contest they had running on the wrapper it had ended 3.5 years earlier. needless to say i threw up and dont go there that often anymore!

I was just coming to report this! I emailed Kmart to see if my 2 stores were participating but they said no, and then they stated the rules for redemption.

**There has to be $25 spent before coupons,
** Limit 10 coupons, per cusomer per day
** 5 coupons per customer per day !!!So which one is it!!
**Only 4 of the same item.
** and of course the usual no bogo and such..

Is it me or are they getting really stingy. It went from 75 limit to 25 limit (which was the last participating double in my area) to this load of crap??? I am not doing doubles ever again.

I called corporate today after the 5th call or so I finally was passed on to a Sears customer service MANAGER. who apologised but said that on sunday the event WAS all manufacturer coupons. as of monday morning the ENTIRE event was canceled. then that day on monday P&G contacted them peeved as heck because P&G had already had the print put out in thier flyers on sunday advertising double coupons at Kmart. So then Kmart/sears decided to reactivate the event to being P&G only coupons for doubling.

Well, if you do go, and you figure out a deal of P&G that is good. I suggest you print yourself a list of the products from P&Gs website. as has been my experience the manager at my K didn't know the difference between Kimberly Clark and P&G

At this point, I think that Kmart has told their phone operators to tell us customers anything they feel like. I called this afternoon to ask if any of my local stores would be participating.

The rep told me all KMarts would be participating, but that the only coupons they would accept for doubling would be printable coupons that came from the "Coupon Center" on their website :hysterical:

I think at this point I am immune to Kmarts crap. I have been jerked around so many times I can't even count. I hate the way they make everyone of us feel. It's confusing.

I'll show up at 8:00 in the morning with coupons in hand. I doubt I will have any trouble. My Kmarts never know when they are doubling let alone read the doubles ad and it would be amazing if they even knew it had fine print.

So Ill print it Ill take it and my qs and if the registers are automatically doubling I doubt Ill have a problem. If they are not its a 50/50 chance that one of my stores will honor it anyway. Im not really worried, I wasnt expecting to get doubles till after Jan. so if I get em great if not no big deal. It only took me a few minutes to reorganize my qs from last time, pull expireds and cut the new ones so Im only out a very lil bit of time.

What Id LOVE to see happen is someone who goes to a 24 hour store late that night / early that morning post their experiences so we all know if its worth going out for.

With past doubles that had negative pre-event discussions in most boards, they turned out the opposite :giggle2:.

Therefore, I think most KMarts will allow customers to shop with as many coupons as they want and cashiers will be accommodating of all customers requests just to make a sale. Cashiers knowing P&G coupons from others should be the least of our worries. If they can't figure out their own policies, can we expect them to know how to distinguish P&G from nonP&G coupons?

It may be worth to try it if it works in your store, you're not losing much but time, gas and effort for "wonderful" goods at Kmart :wink7:

I agree with Joshmamabear, I'm not holding my breath that any of these new "rules" are going to stick, especially at the Kmarts I shop at. Unless the computers are indeed programed I dont see how the are going to stop all coupons from doubling. All it will do it hold up lines even more and create angry customers, in us the couponers and the people waiting in the lines. I still plan on going Sunday as if none of this came about, if the ads at my stores state nothing about p&g only then I will go about my double coupon shopping as I always do. I got the same exact email as Poconomom and no where in it does it state anything about p&g only. Good Luck to everyone, I hope it all works out for all of us!!

I'm envious of those with lenient Kmarts. Ours in Iowa are sticklers to an extreme, so much so you'd swear the doubles were coming out of the cashier's pockets themselves! I called two of my local Kmarts and actually talked to the manager of one of the stores. They were as clueless, and as frustrated, as we are which doesn't bode well. The manager I spoke with said they may not know until a coupon actually goes through the register whether it doubles or not.

However, the best way to deal with out of control craziness may be to be crazy too. I'm thinking about taking all seven of my kitties in with me - among them a calico and multiple orange tabbies and I figure with a shopping cart full of kitties they'll give me ANYTHING I want to get me out of the store, especially since two are Maine Coons and weigh 25lbs :hysterical:

My Kmart is so strict on coupons, even with the 10 coupon limit I am in the line for an hour. Every item is looked at as well as the coupon that goes with it. It's too far for me to drive for the aggravation this will cause. Hope most of you have good luck with this one....I can't wait to read about this on Sunday!

I think how Kmart handles this is going to make or break it for a lot of us. Thanks for the post - explains why it may not show up in Kmart advertisements though Kmart should have known about this plenty ahead of time. Of course I think the last line is what gives them their out.

I've seen a lot of bad promos done by Kmart in the past years and they "got away with it". I still remember the instant $10 KMart GC wyb any Duracell with PG products. the trial size PG items qualified since there were no size restrictions. there were tearpad coupons for the $10 GC offer. Right in the middle of promo, KMart pulled it out saying the offer was limited to 1 per Household. Nowhere did it say that in their local ads YET they converted an instant GC promo to MIR. A lot of people threw a hissy fit :giggle2: Did KMart budge even when they were reported to BBB? NO! and they continue to flip flop on their promos to this day. I don't think these companies are sanctioned by regulatory boards, if there are any. Therefore, I don't expect KMart to do good in any of their promos. It will be a big surprise if they can follow their own policy.

My biggest concern is that sooner or later Kmart is going to just stop doing the doubles, period. I hate that we are only allowed to use 10 coupons but at the same time, they are the only stores in my area that run those types of doubling so this leaves me grateful. I agree that they should stand by what the say but I have also witnessed a lot of abuse in redeeming coupons. They also lose a lot of money, fault of the cashier, from coupons redeemed with the expiration dates cut off. Also, when they double coupons, aren't they the ones who are actually providing us with the extra discount? I get some of the frustration, some of it I don't. They don't owe me anything and they don't have to do it at all. A lot of times the things they have on sale are not the things i need to buy. I rather have the doubles no matter how many because this give me a chance to determine my own sale.

I am sitting here pondering the same thing. I have an email form corporate so I know that I will be allowed to double the 10 P&G, but the whole bait and switch routine is getting old. I don't even know if I want to go this time.

I'm also sitting this one out at least for tomorrow to see what various sites report on the actual results. I was prepared already that last time was it for the year so don't have that many good coupons to double on hand & no sense stocking up when it's this iffy.

It was nice when my 'big K' store had super doubles!

It actually got me in the door! As a result, I bought a number of 'other' things while I was there.

That was soooooooo long ago.

My 'bigK ' hasnt had super doubles all summer....and even now...into the fall.

So bad so sad....ta ta Kmart. It was nice knowin ya but those days are gone.

I called my KMart store and spoke to a manager who said they are participating- and doubling all coupons up to $2 like normal. However, he sounded like he wasn't positive and since it *is* Kmart, who knows. :giggle2: I am really hoping this will be like normal.

I just called my store and asked if they were doubling coupons and the lady said she wasn't sure because it was not in the ad. So she went to ask the manager and he said they were and she did not say anything about only being P&G coupons.:BigHand: So don't go by whats in you ad.

There was nothing in my ad, but my store was doubling upto 10 coupons and no $ amt. needed to be reached...so, not too bad.

i made two trips to kmart today and they doubled everything up to 2.00 with no $amount needed to spend and let ppl use as many coupons as they wanted no limit of 10 this time

My stores are going by the P&G ad and it states normal rules and nothing about P&G only. They don't care that it's not in their ad. Normal rules emailed, normal rules posted at checkout.

oh its so exciting to hear all about "my store" is doubling " my store" is doubling any 10 limit , 25 limit p&g only ect ect..
But it would be even more exciting if you were to say where "MY STORE" is... like MY STORE IN TABB VA is doubling up to 10 ... thanks meow!

Our stores in the Quad Cities (both IL & IA) are doubling coupons like normal - limit of 10 per transaction. Nothing in our advertisements but there are signs at the registers at 2 of our 4 stores. All 4 are doubling though. Yay!!

Also for those of you that have the Discover card coupons, they are doubling too, no problem so you can use them for any item your want to make your own freebie. I used my $1 Discover coupons for the Goodlife kittie treats to get them free : ) Best to leave those at the bottom of the pile so they don't get confused on what to apply the coupons to.
