You know you're a hardcore couponer when....you make a quick stop at Food Lion (or any other store for that matter- I use Food Lion as an example b/c of its tendency to have DND5 Blinkies) just to hunt for blinkies, peelies and tearpads!!

Ditto. I often plan my trips so that I can get blinkies at FL before I go to my other stores that double coupons. :)

when you can't wait to get home from work on Wednesdays just to look through grocer ads for matchups

When double q's make you giddy

Or register rewards are amazing

When you get 2+ Sunday papers and are like a kid at Christmas with every new sunday ad

When you go dd everyday so you can collect extra inserts. I collect blinkies from every store I stop at. It's just sitting there calling my name. Take me......redeem me. LOL

:shrug7:Please excuse the newbie question but...

If I go in a store and get a bunch of blinkies or tearpads, will I get 'yelled at' by management for not buying the item that it's infront of?

Or what about peelies? Are they only for you after you buy the product that it's on?

Sorry if these seem like silly questions

I think taking a few blinkies or tearpad qs each time you are in a store is not going to get you yelled at. I think just about everybody does that. As for peelies--there have been great debates on what is acceptable. Some people will take them off to use somewhere else or on another product that it is also good for, but some will only use it on the purchase of that product. Beginning to coupon does seem intimidating. but the longer you do it the easier it gets. I suggest taking a few different blinkies next time you are in the store and you will gradually get used to it and it will be second nature. The more you read on here about other's experiences and ask lots of question you will learn quickly. Best wishes for many great deals!!

... you not only dont OWN a cat, but you HATE cats and you will still go out of your way to *buy* a case of free cat treats :cat54: Luckily the dogs cant read the bags.

.... you dont carry a purse ANYWHERE but you bring your binder EVERYWHERE

..... Your 2yo finds scraps of paper and calls them poo-cons... and is giddy over it :party25:

...... Your family didnt get you a birthday gift because money is tight. You dont cry because you didnt get a gift...... you cry because the LEAST they could have done was go hunting and bring you back some tearpads and peelies :sad22:

....... You'll buy anything for free or cheap simply because someone, somewhere may need it someday.

. . . your two year old says "cucon" when he sees a blinkie. What can I say? I've taught him well. He scopes them out for me, takes them from the machine and drops them into the cart. I have to limit him and let him know we can only get 2, we save some for others. :giggle2:

. . . . . when you find a coupon for your OWN engagement ring?? (save $50 on it!) :giggle2:

. . . when you have saved more in groceries in eight months than your entire wedding cost?

. . . . when the food for the reception was all bought with couponing?

. . . . when all the paper goods were free after coupons?

I recently surprised my husband by renting a local hotel room and kidnapping him for some "mommy/daddy" time. He asked me later why I had chosen that particular hotel. I had to crack up when I told him it was because I had a coupon for the room! :hysterical:

You use your 30 minute lunch break going to a different store every day to get the best deal. (Walgreens, CVS, Kroger, Publix)

When you haven't bought toothpaste with actual money in eons.

When you have a panic attack because you forgot your coupons at the house.

When your co-workers tell you what they'd like for dinner and ask you where to buy it.

When you're depressed because you have to buy something full-price without a coupon.

If you HAVE to pay full price for something, or even just more than you THINK you should be paying, you buy it at a store where you know you can return the item (up to 90 days later!) when it goes on sale (particularly if you're out of town or even on vacation)!!!

You pair manufacturer coupons, store coupons, e-coupons, BOGOs, rebates AND U-Promise all at the same time AND you do it as a matter of routine!

Been there, done that :hysterical:
