CVS - Is the $5 off $25 purchase before or after q's?

I am sure this has been asked, but I can't find the answer. Complete newbie here!

Before I kill myself trying to figure out $25 in coupons for CVS, could someone help me? The coupon for $5 off expires tomorrow, so I need to use it.

I always give the $/$ first then my manu qs.... but it will work after even if you get below the amount ....

Just make sure that's the first thing you hand them. :)

Before all sales and coupons: $37.67

After sales and coupons: $14.71

Difference: $22.96, or almost 60% off.

I am hoping to do better next time! This was my first try.
