I have 2 different steam mops, and I love them both! My only suggestion would be to buy extra pads, I use 2 or 3 in one cleaning (my house is almost all tile, except in the bedrooms). One is a Monster, and the other one is a Euro-Pro. The Euroflex Monster EZ1 Floor Steamer/Cleaner was more expensive (much like the Haan you're seeing now), and puts out a little more steam than my Euro-Pro, but I like them both.

I just recently got the Bissel Steap Mop and really like it. I have only used it a handful of times on our wood floors but I notice the floors really look clean and hold the "clean look" for a while. I seriously think that the lack os using any chemical cleaners helps on that. I have two dogs and two small kids so my floors look dirty right after I clean them usually but not when I use the Bissel steam mop.

I have the shark pro.... it is a bit older model than what you see now... it is like a canister vacuum cleaner. I love it. I have stone tile floors every where but the bedrooms and I use my steamer about every two weeks... my floors look new and they are about 7 yrs old. I would like one of the newer ones but this works so well..... I can't give it up.

I have the Shark Pro as well and I HATE it. Its hard to use , it doesnt clean well, it doesnt spot clean well, its a piece of junk that I wasted way too much money on even after a coupon at Kohls.

I have a Shark Deluxe steam mop. Although I'm quite happy with it, it does have some cons.
Pros:
~No cleaning solution needed
~Fast set-up and ready to go within a couple minutes
~Lightweight with a long cord
~No other things to drag around with it, like a bucket
Cons:
~As previously mentioned, not good at spot cleaning. I find myself having to scrape stuff off the floor with my fingernail that the Shark can't get loose.
~Only two out of the five cleaning pads (the ones marked in blue) work correctly on my hardwood floors. The others constantly come loose from the velcro with each mop stroke and it drives me crazy.
~Leaves a weird streakiness on my hardwood floors
But for me, the pros outweight the cons.

I also have a shark (not the new Pro, though) and i LOVE it. i have hardwood floors throughout the house with tile downstairs, and the shark does great on all of it. We had a new years party at our house (because of the lack of carpet) and the following morning our shoes were sticking to the floors, the shark got it all up with no additional scrubbing and it only took two pads. On the tile it des great, even when cleaning stuff in the tile grout. The cord isn't quite long enough for me to be able to clean up the stairs, so i always have to plug it in downstairs, and move it half way up but that is my only complaint. well worth 75 bucks!!

I have the shark also.
It cleans my hardwood floors just fine, but I still prefer my Swiffer :)

I just bought the eureka enviro steam mop and tried it out yesterday, the thing works great! my only complaint was the mop base was so large i couldn't get under cabinet overhangs to clean. I plan on using mine weekly in our entire bottom floor, but will probably do the kitchen/foyer 2 times a week as that is where the house gets dirtiest. I've heard the bissell and steamfast are pretty good too.

I agree with this. We have Pergo and I hated the Swiffer WetJet and the Swiffer Wet because they left the floor sticky and was too lazy to do a mop. We like the steam mop in that it cleans okay and doesn't leave it sticky, but it is not good at spot cleaning. Also, it does leave streaks, although to me they aren't as bad as the Swiffer wet. The cleaning pads we have (two that came with it) get really gross during use and for whatever reason they don't totally clean white again.

Does anyone have the one with the triangle head that is meant to be good at getting into corners. (I think it is the shark one but don't remember). I hate mopping and don't like the sticky that the swiffer wet jet leaves behind and am also thinking about getting a steam mop. Does the corner thing do well in the corners and under the cabinet overhangs?

I have a Shark deluxe and *LOVE* it. I have terrazzo floors-in practically the WHOLE HOUSE-and it does great on my floors. I know you aren't "supposed" to use anything but water (which I LOVE-what's more frugal than that?), but sometimes I put a couple TBSP of vinegar in with the water when I need extra deodorizing. It is a snap. I don't usually bend over to have to scrape anything, but on the tough spots, I do have to pump for more steam and go over a few times very slowly...it isn't quite as magical as the infomercials would have you believe. lol I also love that I can steam over the carpet (that we have in one small room) and the bed mattresses for deodorizing with the carpet glider.
All in all, I love my steam mop. I do wish I had one with a smaller head, though-the one I have is rectangular and I can't get between the toilet and the shower or the sink and the toilet. I have to still clean that area by hand, but I have that problem no matter what mop I have.

I just got my steamfast (model 141) that I bought from home depot on sale for black friday for only $25, and it works great!! I just used it to clean my kitchen so far - it's probably 25-30 sq ft of linoleum to clean, and it was pretty gross (I threw out my mop and bucket a few months ago and hadnt replaced it til now... yikes!) I was able to clean my kitchen with one pad, and one filling of water (it was empty as soon as I finished though) and took 10 minutes or so. I like it alot! but it seemed that even though this mop gets under the cabinet overhangs, (short enough to glide under there) it does not clean there, it seems like the steam comes out in the middle, so I did clean that area by hand with a rag. I feel the handle could be sturdier, but I dont feel like it will actually break unless abused/used really roughly. I really like it so far and hope it continues to work - as long as it doesnt quit on me too soon, I am really happy about getting it for $25!
