Do ECB expire? I know they have an expiration date printed on them but I thought I had heard that they no longer expire.

Do they expire?

That's a YMMV thing I think. At all my local CVS stores, they will accept only expired ECBs that I got for my quarterly earnings. They will NOT accept any ECBs that are expired that I earned on purchases. Hope that helps!

I believe it is up to the manager of each location to determine their policy at a store level. Of the 5 stores near me, 1 does not take expireds, 1 takes them up to 7 days past expiration, 1 takes them up to 30 days past expiration and 2 take them indefinitely. I would encourage you to talk to the manager and find out what his/her policy is for their store. Happy Hunting!

CVS's official policy is that yes they do expire on the expiration date. If they were not intended to expire, they would not bother putting a date on them. LOL However, some stores may choose to honor ECBs past the expiration date, but that is at the discretion of each individual store/manager, and even among stores that will accept expired ECBs you may find that they have different 'time limits'. You need to ask at the store(s) where you shop and find out what is acceptable in those particular stores. :)

Great........now I am sitting here imagining what wonderful shopping I could do if ECBs NEVER EXPIRED!!! :hysterical:

I wish they would give you more time to use before they expire. Sometimes I just dont see anything I want in the new ads. (ok, so not that often ....but sometimes )

Same! It's a nice dream.... :wink7:
I do like the fact that their expiration is longer than Walgreens' Register Rewards. I always had trouble using the RRs because they expire in 2 weeks!

Shopping, couponing, rebating and CVSing are all a continuous learning process.

So I say that you should never, ever hesitate to ask the help if you have a question.

Like:

Q) Can I use expired ECBs (ExtraCare Buck)s?

+

Every time you ask the help at a store a question, it becomes more and more easy to ask future inquires.

IKYN (I Kid You Not).

I do recommend asking the store manager or head cashier for the most accurate / correct answer.

You might pleasantly be surprised like yes, they do honor expired ECBs, no matter what the expiration date!

Sweeet!
