I am new to couponing and would like help from members in Central FL so that I can even recognize a good deal on items (mostly meat and poultry) when I see it.
If some of you could take the items listed below that you're familiar with and tell me the maximum price (per lb. or per item) where you would consider stocking up on these particular items that would be really appreciated.
I dont want to buy a freezer full of whole chickens at $.89 per lb. only to discover a week later that I could have gotten it for $.59 if I had just waited (of course I know there are no guarantees but it would be nice if I had someone to tell me "hey its usually on sale for $XX or less every couple of mos so just be patient" lol). I appreciate any help you can give even if it's just on a couple of the items listed!
Ground beef 93/07
Ground beef 90/10
Beef Ribeye Steak
Beef Top Sirloin Steak
Beef Roast
Chicken Bone-in Split Breasts
Boneless Chicken Breasts
Boneless Chicken Thighs (Is it cheaper to buy chicken with the skin on and skin it yourself or do you end up paying more in weight to leave the skin on?)
Whole Chicken (Are whole fryers and whole roasters the same price?)
Baby Back Ribs
Boneless Pork Loin Chops
Bone-in Center Cut Pork Chops
Regular sliced bacon in pkg.
Pork Roast
Whole Turkey Breast
Whole Turkey
Spreadable Real Butter
Real Mayonnaise
Its amazing looking back I know, but Ive never really taken notice of meat prices before thinking "well, it might be a few cents cheaper somewhere else but my time and gas are worth the difference." But since Ive started couponing, I of course want to save in every area I can and it makes me ill to think of how much Ive probably overpaid in the past... At least my mindset is changing (thanks to the many stories Ive read here), and the future will be much brighter!
I appreciate all of the input and advice that you savvy couponers are willing to give us newbies, I cant thank you enough! I apologize in advance if this post is in the wrong category or if this info is already available somewhere but I couldnt find it. Angela
