Welcome Amy! There is tons of information here. It may take you awhile to read through it but I would start in the "getting started" threads.

I live in Illinois. I am trying to read everything, but getting very overwhelmed. I guess it will just take time.

I agree with amy s. Start with just one store and work your way up from there. Once you get the hang of that move on to other stores, and even into the trading forums (which can be confusing at first, but you will love it!). Read a lot in the Getting Started forums, there's a lot of info to learn there that will be helpful to learning couponing (like lingo used around here, tools that will help keep you organized, etc.). Slowly but surely you will get the hang of it!

Here's the most basic of basics. Coupon + sale + stockpile = magic. That's what all the threads are trying to get across. You need lots of coupons (for things you actually want) and you need to wait for things to also go on sale, then buy as much as you can afford/store/use in a reasonable amount of time.

Go to the Couponing 101 thread http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/getting-started-couponing-basics-new-members/89883-couponing-101-couponing-basics-newbie.html and read it. Follow the links that are referenced and read those. Then read it again. Remember, you don't need to start out doing everything. Just start with your local grocery store and maybe a drug store until you get the hang of things.

Hi,
So, are you an experienced coupon user and just new to this particular site or new to couponing itself.
Can you provide a list of your grocery store chains and pharmacies?
Lots of tips out there for your stores, and if you are new to coupons plenty of info for rookies too.

I am a newbie too. :)

I was planning on trying the one store method, just to get my feet wet. Any suggestions which would be the best to start with? CVS? Wags?

can you list all your pharmacies and grocery stores?
The best deals may be elsewhere than CVS and Walgreens and you may not be impressed and give it up.
Are you new to this site or new to couponing or both?

Both. i have always been a casual coupon user, but I am getting more serious now.

We have:

CVS
Walgreens
Rite Aid

Stop and Shop
A&P
Shaw's (a little far, but do-able)
Big Y (a little far, but do-able)
Aldi

Kmart
Target
Walmart (there is a super walmart, but it is a bit of a drive)

Thanks in advance!
