The Planters Trail Mix has been on sale all week for $1.99. I checked the sticker on the shelf and it said sale through today, 9/8. (I was hoping it would last for 2 weeks)
So today, 9/8, they rang up full price. I was told by a higher up, not sure if she was the manager, that sale items not featured in their ad could be priced changed at any time. I was told the same thing before when this happened to me on another item a couple of months ago. The sale stickers had been removed from the shelf but I thought it was because they were getting ready for the new sale tomorrow.
I am thinking about contacting corporate.
Has this happened to anyone else? Is this a common practice?

Well, I went today to finish getting the BOGO Reese's cups and they were back to $.89 and they were IN the ad. So I'm confused and a little miffed.

This happened to me yesterday, as well. I had a similar problem a few weeks ago with something (life savers maybe?). If I can't point to it in the current ad, I don't bother questioning the price. I forgot this yesterday, or I would not have picked up the trail mix when the shelf tag was gone.
Really, without an ad or a shelf tag, how can you prove your point?

That happened with the HA hand soap - the price change before the end of the sale. But only in some stores - other stores still had it on sale for a few weeks beyond the sale date. Who knows FLs reasoning?

It all depends when they change it in the system at that store.
I usually don't shop in the afternoons before the sale ends, because my stores have been known to end the sale early.

Yes, this has happened countless times to me.....I'll notice something on sale and check the sale end date so I can come back with my coupons and wouldn't you know the sale tag will be gone the next day (mid-week). Sometimes I've found the opposite and that sale prices ring up a day past when they are suppose to. There is no rhyme or reason to FL sometimes and I find they are often disorganized and customer service at my FL isn't hte friendliest so I just let it slide figuring I have no recourse. It's lousy and a big reason I don't shop at FL often, because they aren't reliable.
