yeah!!! my mom & dad got me a bread maker last year for Christmas. I've been going easy on it so I didn't use up all of the yeast I got free last year. Now I can bake bake bake again!

the .50/1 cat should double again if your store doubles .50 coupons :)

I read in the database, there was a (Kroger) $1/5 Oscar Mayer Lunchables...so I went shopping at lunch and bought 5 lunchables combination (no drink). I recieved a $1.50/7 catalina. How does one know that the 5 lunchables triggered the catalina? I'm lost...please help!

Sometimes they vary by region (either the catalinas themselves or the dates that they are active) but usually if you read it on HCW they tend to work. You may want to go to the thread where you read that and ask for more specifics, such as which region it was in or if certain things were included.

As for the Fleischmann's- yay! I have gotten my year's worth of yeast for the last two years during this sale. Last year it only ended up being free for one week in my region, so I paid for some but still nowhere near what it would have cost without the catalina. Yes, the .50 should double, so when this is 10/$10- tends to be closer to the holidays- that makes these free. The catalinas do roll.

You can join Fleischmann's "bread brigade" and they email a coupon every month that can be printed twice. I think it is .50/2.

Kroger cats have never doubled for me. I think I read a post somewhere last year that they used to, but not anymore.

I know here in the Louisville area, they did double. On my way to Michigan last year, I picked up some in Ohio, and those didn't double. Then in Michigan, they doubled again. My Kroger here in Louisville also changed it midway through (don't think they liked seeing people get a good deal). Originally, it would spit out one catalina for each one bought (if you bought 10 in one order, you'd get 10 catalinas). Partway through, they changed it so you would only get one at a time. What a pain! I'm ready for some baking! Bring on the YEAST!!

I noticed yesterday the 3-strips are on sale for $1.50 here (Delta region). It had a long sale date (expired in December or January, maybe?) but sometimes they have a lower sale price for a couple of weeks and then it goes back up to the "regular" sale price. Still a .30 mm after coupon and catalina though.

If the catalina's UPC begins with a '5' it should double at the register, unless the cashier overrides it. Some of them probably don't begin with a '5'.

Checked at my Fry's today (in S. AZ.). They were marked for the cat, BUT the "sale price" was $1.69, so I skipped it for now. Hopefully the price gets better before my coupons expire!

I signed up just to ask a question, so I hope someone knows! Is there a computer limit to the number of cats that print for this deal? I got one a week or so ago using a Q from my newspaper and then went on ebay and bought a lot of 20 more. Bought 20 more today and after I got to the car I realized only 18 catalinas printed out? 19 seems like a really odd limit to set so I am wondering if maybe the printer ran out of paper. I was using a self checkout, because in between wrangling my 2 year old and trying to find the right coupons and make sure everything prices correctly I know I'd drive a cashier crazy. :) Is it going to look fishy if I return those 2 yeast packets? They cost me 1.40 (I used two .40/1 coupons) and I was anticipating 2 .50 catalinas (which double here) from them that I didn't receive, so really I am out 3.40 for two packets of yeast that I don't need.

I'd straight out tell them you had a Cat coming that didn't print. I've had two different responses doing this. Once, the SDesk scanned the items as if a new sale, the Cat printed. They handed over the Cat along with my items and I was free to go. They voided the *trial* transaction.

The second time, the Sdesk person told me they couldn't do anything about it because the Catalina program is separate from the store. I said, Okay, but you can give me a refund though. That's what she did. Either way works for me.

I don't see why they'd mind making either an adjustment or a refund. The Catalina program is something the store supports...Afterall, they do have the machines at their registers. They generate sales. hee.

Eden's mom - I had the problem when I bought the Krusteaz pancake mix last month. only 18 printed.

Called Cat company - they do have a limit per transaction even if there is not a limit on the promotion - "because most people do not buy a lot at one time"

He said he thought the limit was 15 - but apparently it is 18.

BTW - If you want to avoid the return - just call the Cat company and tell them you didn't receive two - they will verify that you bought 20 and only 18 printed and send the other two out to you.

I am making these tomorrow (to take for Thanksgiving) and if mine turn out as good as hers look, I may need all of these packets of yeast. Now if I could just get the flour for free...

Thanks everyone! I thought I was subbed to this thread and I wasn't so I didn't even get your responses until today anyway. :giggle2: The "18 per transaction" limit makes sense now (except for the non-roundness of the number) seeing as how I got one Cat in my first transaction and 18 in my second. I knew there couldn't have been a 19 limit.

I went out of town for the holidays and returned the two extras that didn't print Cats today. I really didn't have time to go back last week and figured I should be happy with 19 packets of free yeast plus $6 overage (minus the $1-2 I spent buying the Qs). When I returned the yeast today I made sure to tell the lady that I had used coupons so that I didn't get back the full sale price.
