GOS= gift of savings
It is a SCR
The dates for this SCR are from September 13th to October 17th

Details:
When you spend over $100.00 at rite aid, you will get $20.00
When you spend $51.00-100.00 at rite aid, you will get $10.00
When you spend $25.00-$50.00 at rite aid, you will get $5.00

This is for ANY money spent at rite aid (except with the usual exclusions of alcohol, gift cards, tobacco etc etc) including receipts with other SCR's on them!

Last year the GOS was BEFORE coupons.

The money you get back will be in the form of either a Rite Aid GC or a Rite Aid paper certificate........I can't remember which one.

Last year it was limit one per account like most SCR's

Here is the info copied from the RA website:

Spend $25-$50, get $5 back.
Spend $51-$100, get $10 back.
Spend over $100, get $20 back.

So check off your back to school list, start planning for Halloween and bring in any other shopping lists you might have to Rite Aid today. The more you spend the more you save.

So does this come up automatically when you submit your receipts for regular SCR's or do you have to submit for this separately? (I submit everything online)

Thanks

Between the Johnson & Johnson deal (29.99), the huggies deal (33.00), and the Covergirl ($50+ for me) this should be easy!

um...can anyone say dumpster diving? All those careless people who leave their receipts in the trash. Between me always being at rite aid, and using rebates constantly this is the month for me!!

Last year it was voucher/check made out to RA. I believe you had 90 days to spend it with no cash back.

I have not idea how much Rx Lip Balm or Rx Suncare Faces is, but I will use those Free Qs that came with the the free Rite Aid skin care gift bag.

Plus buying rebate items and checking for 'littering' RA customers' receipts.

You only have to enter it once, and it automatically puts it into the GOS for you. If you look at your account for that page you will see the same reciepts pending. HTH

Mine was already ordered for me. I didn't have to do anything. Once I got to $100 it was automatically ordered for me.

With the J&J deal and the ultra freshmatics, I hit $100 before coupons in no time :)

thanks pp for mentioning freebie qs - I have a RA coupon for some type of glucose monitor free :giggle2: I had forgotten about it.

I have $100 but want another $100 so my mom could submit too.

anyways yesterday after we left RA, got in the car and my mom said something about looking in the trash can for receipts. and we looked at the trash can and an employee was taking off the lid.... and pulled out something and glared at a man that was walking away (apparent shoplifting incident) soooo, glad we didnt stop to take a look in the trash and get stuck in the middle of THAT. :hysterical:

Ah, phooey, is this going to make a difference?

I did the J & J deal today which would have put my total before coupons up around $30. The cashier never subtotaled; she just scanned the products and then scanned the coupons, so my receipt shows a subtotal of only 14.90. Is that going to mess this up or will the system know the difference?

I believe it is based on itemization, the subtotal should not matter

I started shopping this week, and all of my rebates are showing up just fine.. but I dont see anything about the GOS total anywhere..

Do you need to enter the receipts in a special spot or anything??

PirateQueen
09-24-2009, 12:27:44 AM
To check your GOS totals look to the left hand side after you have signed into the SCR system. Click on the GOS and it will bring up a screen that looks like your regular SCR totals but it will just be the GOS. I didn't have to do anything extra other than enter my receipts where I normally do. (when I tried to enter them under the GOS section it told me that it had already been entered)

forgive me if this has been answered, but I'm looking at my receipts and there is not a total before Qs, just a total with my Qs. Are they doing a total before or after?

I think I'll ask my mom to save any receipts. Usually this would be easy for me to get $100 in receipts, but I'm having a baby in a week, so IDK if I'll be going to RA too soon.

The free razor deal and the free toothpaste deal will probably put us over the top this week. Wipes and V05 helped last week along w/ J AND J. We have been using so many coupons and getting such nice rebate checks and free things that I've even been getting my hubby excited about it. This morning he goes "so what good deals can we get today?" YAY!!!

kval07
09-27-2009, 08:56:25 PM
I picked up a Contour Breeze 2 today to boost my total so I could use the $5/$25. The shift manager who rang me up asked me if I knew about the tote I could get for buying it. (LOVE my RAs!)

You get a free tote with participating diabetes care product samples and coupons. You must purchase $30 in qualifying products between 9/27-12/26/09. A good portion of those qualifier are glucose meters. (Page 9 in Oct SCR booklet.)

The Contour Breeze 2 is $19.99 this week. It worked out perfectly since I had one coupon to burn that expires on 9/30. And I got $20 towards the Gift of Savings deal. Complete this deal before GOS ends Oct 17th to get the most bang for your buck.

Expires 2/28/2010

terms:
Gift certificate is not redeemable for cash, may not be returned, and will not be replaced if lost or stolen. This certificate can only be used towards one purchase which includes at least $20 of eligible products....blah, blah, blah....may not be combined with any other offers.

As the PP stated, I used mine with coupons last year and got the total as close to $20 as I could then handed them my GOS certificate. They took it no problem and register took it no problem. johnfdeluca
10-15-2009, 07:11:25 PM
I can't imagine you would get in trouble for using it. Worst case scenario....if they want it back, then you can tell them it was already redeemed. If they demand $20 in cash....you could always return the products you bought with the gos.

I'm sure some will call me immoral, but I would spend it.

I got a 2nd one as well, its very tempting to go shopping right now!!

What I am wondering is, are the scan numbers the same for all the GOS this month?? My 2 tickets have the same scan numbers on them, are they all the same or did my specific ticket just print and was mailed twice?? If that is the case then I dont think I'd use the 2nd one. But, if they are all the same....

Anyone know??

I'm having trouble just getting one. I requested it 9/30 and was hoping it would be here before the big FAR sales 10/11 and 10/18 but it hasn't arrived yet. It seemed like many people reported getting theirs within 5-7 days. so I wonder if their system has a glitch.

taylordvd
10-15-2009, 08:42:53 PM
I don't think it is right to spend the second one without calling Riteaid first. I mean if they didn't send it at all, you'd be calling and complaining and calling and complaining. What if everyone gets two and we all spent them and then in December they decide they can't afford to do these promotions anymore because of all the money they lost. Its tempting, but I think the right thing is to be honest with Riteaid about it.

mbella77

Thayer988 and I confirmed we have the same numbers as well. So I would say all is a go. The only way RiteAid could link someone getting 2 is if they follow your receipts/deductions when you submit for SCR. I doubt they have the time for that

I'll be returning mine to Riteaid since I just got my second one today and to spend it would be dishonest. Riteaid made the GOS available at "one per household" and I received mine and spent it last week. I feel bad for the person (people) at Riteaid who probably lost their job(s) over this big mistake.

I have to agree! I do not think it is right to spend this.

I have not received mine. In fact, I was waiting until payday to get this weeks FAR items before I submitted it. If it were me, I would call Rite Aid Corp and let them know the situation. If they shorted me, you can bet I would be calling. You never know, they might tell you to keep it. Then you could spend away with a free conscience:whistle67:.

Well, I don't mean to upset people but I'm using it. I need all the help I can get moneywise.

Thanks for all your responses, I am glad to see that I am not the only one that got 2.

i recvd a second $20 gos check as well. if they don't want us to use them, then wouldn't riteaid will be able to invalidate the barcode? or at least notify management to not accept them? the way i see it is i have it and it is at least worth a try at the store.

Apparently not since folks here have reported all $20 ones share the same barcodes....so no way to separate the good ones from the bad ones.

Clearly the community is split...some will spend the extra $20 without feeling bad....others will not.

MOD POST REGARDING THE DOUBLE GOS
This certainly is a strange position to be in. I debated back and forth on whether to allow discussion of the double GOS. One of the great things about HCW is knowing that the deals you find posted here are not fraudulent and are completely legit. Reflecting back, there have been many times when there was a glitch at walgreens (when something TRULY rolls, or when something is printing an extra cat etc.) and the discussion has been allowed. So based on previous situations, the disussion of the double GOS is permitted. As exerpienced couponers you learn that there are many gray areas (like taking peelies etc). These gray areas call upon a persons own moral decision making process. That person has to live with the decision they make and what they feel comfortable with. It may not be the decision we personally would make but in complying with HCW rules, it is important to be respectul of the other persons opinion. This is all that I ask. Thanks.

I also got two GOS and so did my mom. It sounds like almost everyone did from what I read on all my regular bargain websites.

I have not received my GOS yet.The only bad thing I can see happening if almost everyone uses thier 2 checks is Rite Aid stopping the program altogether.I figure this month with the 1 GOS and the coupons I used - I made around 50.00 - 60.00 dollars. So hopefully, I will not get the second GOS - I think I robbed Rite-Aid enough this month!!!

I also got a second GOS. I looked on my SCR account under the GOS and it shows that 2 GOS was mailed to me, so maybe it's ever $100 you spend you get a $20 GOS.

I only spent $100.98 so I'm only expecting $20 back. I wonder if anyone who spent say, $150 is getting a $20 and a $10 ?

Is it confirmed that the $100 is before Coupons? I Called corporate today and they said it was after coupons?

Which is it? To those who have done it?

Will purchases paid for using a gos qualify for another. Today I made a purchase at rite wasn't planning to use my gos but cashier could give my change back from my single rebate check so I kind of had to use it. Any way my plan was to make these purchases and enter them in my mil gift of savings, today being the last day if figured I would help her out a little, Now I don't know if it will still count. TIA

Are you sure it said you had been mailed 2? I thought mine said that as well, but when I read closer, it said requested a $20 GOS check on 9/25, then the next line states $20 GOS mailed on 10/1.

So I am new to RiteAid and SCR's more or less this GOS - lol - but since I have a RA 5 seconds from home and I saw the HE deal, I felt the need to get in on all of this. I hope I did okay!

I bought 12 HE's w/ BOGOQs (no $1/1 )
5 Poligrips w/ FREEQs
1 Magnum Razor w/ $3 IP plus the Free Cartridges and the $3 IP for those 4 bags of $.88 M&M's and used $1/2 Qs for those (they were in a bag so they qualified for the Q )
2 bags of chewy Spree's for DS#1&2
I also used the $5/20 Adperks Q
My total pre-Q is $52.22 and post Q was $15.45

I *think* I should get $10 GOS, $1.99 Poligrip & $2 Magnum SCR, and $10 P&G GC. If I did this all okay that would make it a $8.54 MM and gives me a start for future purchases! :BigHand:

-Oh and I almost forgot I can submit for the free cookware set too! Yay!

Thanks for all the wonderful info, which truly was a major help!!

My mil just realized they are having a gos. Like it is over now but I have some recipts I can pass along to her. I just want to know if the one I purchased using my gos will this be eligable for her to enter for her gos. I wouln't think so but I wanted to ask before I get her hopes up. I have my p&g recipt I would just assume enter in my own scr for the fact I want my $10.00:biggrin: (She might confuse it with her rebate and I might not get it. Any one have a answer? Sorry if I broke any rules posting this question *Please Deleate if I did* ... ~and sorry~

I would *think* that the GOS cetrificate will show up as a GC on the purchase receipt and won't take away from the value of the purchase!

I've emailed RA but thought I'd see what y'all thought. I just shopped at RA last week when I saw all the free stuff. Then I read about the GOS and bought the J&J stuff and enough to get to the $100. However I bought children's motrin and the wrong Reach TB. So I need to exchange them. Do you think this will affect the GOS? I saw they've already requested it. And I'm not just returning it, I will be purchasing the correct items. Thanks for the help

Anyone know why this would be? The code is the same on both. Are they just generic & every certificate has the same #? My total only shows that I spent $115.20.

This happened to quite a few people if you are able to find the thread on GOS there are many posts about this issue. I don't think anyone was able to determine why this happened just some kind of glitch. Also everyone had the same bar code. HTH:wavehi:
