I am planning on eMailing CS and calling on Tuesday (due to Holiday weekend) regarding my incident from earlier this evening. I want to make sure I am not in the wrong and would appreciate any help.

Items I was trying to purchase:

(2) Glade Scented Oil Refillable Tins - $3.69 ea.
(3) Glade Scented Oil Refills - $3.49 ea.
(1) Jumbo Pack of Huggies - $9.99

Q's used in the exact order below
$5 off merchandise purchase - Kmart Savings Coupon (no problem)
(1) B2G1 Glade Scented Oil candles refill Free (MFQ) - $3.49 (no problem)
(2) Free Refill wyb any Glade Scented Oil Candle Holder (IP) - $3.49 ea
Only scanned (1) of the (2) before the transaction was voided*see details below*
(2) $1.50 off any Galde Scented Oil tin holder or refill pack (MFQ)
(1) $1.50 off Huggies (MFQ) *didn't make it far enough into transaction to have these scanned.

Details: I hand the cashier my second (IP) and she says that she doesn't think she can scan it without getting in trouble and calls over cashier 2. Cashier 2 says the (3) refills that I purchase all go under the first coupon used (B2G1 free) and therefore, I cannot use the other Free wyb q's.

I spent a lot of time in the store with my two youngest and just wanted to go home. I asked for my coupons back and walked away:sad:. Someone from CS desk was called over to void the transaction (who had helped me before last month during doubles). I told him I was dissappointed with not being able to pay with my coupons and continued to leave. Upon getting home, my dh even asked why I didn't ask to speak to a manager. I was tired. I still plan on contacting CS so that the cashiers are trained on how to use a mfg coupons. I just want to make sure I was in the right for how I planned on using the coupons. Your help is appreciated.

Thank you for your time. Kmart is making me :hectic1: and I think I will stick to Target!

NOTE: I know this wasn't the cheapset deal for the Glade scented oil...they had Apple Cinnamon scent and my Target doesn't have it in stock.

actually the cashier was right. The system would not have taken it. Your first coupon required her to touch all 3 refills therefore there were no refills left to use for the other coupons (whether she had to pick them or the system picked them). It's how the Kmart computers are setup to handle multiple item coupons and why the bogo coupons under $2 double as well.

At any other store it wouldn't have been a problem. You could have called for a manager but they would have told you (and shown you) why the other coupon would not have worked.

I'm sorry though. I ran into a few of those issues as well and it was disappointing.

Cashier 1 was prompted to "touch" the 3 refills. I thought it was to make sure I had three purchased to begin with, not that the coupon attached to all three refills.

She did scan them and they went through fine. They asked for the price, cashier entered $3.49 and it deducted on the screen. When I handed her my second IP she said she didn't think she could do it. Cashier 2 came, scanned the second IP and it went through, asking for the price of the item, as she is telling me, "see, it won't work."

My Q is, was I using the coupon(s) incorrectly?

I appreciate you responding and hope I make sense. It is hard to convey my story in print when my mind has it all worked out:giggle2:

no you weren't using it incorrectly at all but as we all know Kmart isn't exactly the best with coupons.

Just making sure I am 'seeing' this right. The first coupon took all 3 refills, then the 2nd coupon took the holder and then the 3rd coupon DID take the 2nd holder off and the cashier voided it out?

First Q (MFQ): B2 refills G1 free - My brain is saying this attaches to (1) of the (3) refills I bought.
2nd Q (IP): B tin G refill free - This was scanned and prompted for cashier to enter price, which she did.
3rd Q (IP): B tin G refill free - This was scanned and prompted for cashier to enter price as she is telling me that it won't work.
4th Q (MFQ): 1.50/1 tin or refill (would attach to tin) - trans was voided and this was not scanned
5th Q (MFQ): 1.50/1 tin or refill (would attach to tin) - see above

I can see where there is confusion when using a BxGy free q, if it attaches to both items. I didn't think this was the case.

B2G1F attaches to 3 items at Kmart. Hence the reason she had to select all 3 refills. Selecting an item on the screen removes it from the list of possible items to have coupons on.

Any other store would have been different since Kmart is the only store I'm aware of that has that pop up screen to pick items to attach a coupon to.
