I love to dress up my two boys in little sweaters, tshirts, and hoodies. The hoodies are my favorite. So cute!
I have never found anything cute at Walmart or Meijer. Petco-my dogs will go naked before I pay $20 for a shirt. I do shop the clearance at Petsmart though. My stepmom's daughter works for some pet distributor and sends her stuff all the time at cost, and she just pays shipping. She sends her clothes, but she never knows what she's going to get until it is in her hands.
So where do you buy clothes for your dog, either online or in the store? I am not looking to spend an arm and a leg either. On the yorkie forum I am on, these ladies spend $50-$100+ on ONE OUTFIT for their dogs. I love my dogs, but not enough to spend more on clothes for them than I do on myself, lol.

I also shop clearance at Petsmart. I would love to know some more places to get some inexpensive clothes for Duff for this winter..... oooh and he likes to dress up for Halloween, too. (and by he, I mean I, and when I say likes, I mean he doesn't eat his costume lol!!!)

Chester loves to dress up. You can tell my his facial expression in some of these pictures, lol. He is a sport though. He doesn't squirm or anything, and he has only chewed up one shirt, in the very beginning. (It's okay, I got it at Target's dollar spot, another place I am always looking for cute shirts.)
I love the red/white sweater. He wore that in our family pictures last year. Cutest thing ever. He went as a pirate for Halloween last year. I also love the Underdog costume with the little cape. So cute when he is running around the house like a wild banshee. The white Holt Rams sweater at the very bottom came from a teddy bear. :giggle2:
And I lied in my OP, lol. The red/white sweater was from Walmart, and the Underdog costume was from Meijer. Normally those stores aren't too impressive for me though.

My daughter and I love to dress up our dog Checkers who is a 4 1/2 yr old male Shi Tzu in a variety of clothing.
Unfortunately, Checkers some of the time has been subjected to wearing clothing from Build a Bear! Fairy wings, dresses with lace, that's the price he pays for having a 12 year old girl as his sister! You get the picture.... He is very good natured about the fact of wearing girls clothes and my husband says he will develope and identity crisis if we keep this up!
On a more serious note, we just bought Checkers a really cute "boys" shirt at Target. The shirt was $8.99 which to me is reasonable. Your best bet is checking out Target. I always see nice things in there, but they are either way too small or way to large. I've also found it's worth looking @ the clearance dept. at some of the pet chain stores.
I too have been dismayed at the price of doggie clothing, so if anyone come across
any additional places with reasonable prices, please post it here!
Hope this helps!

Kval, Chester is very cute. I had an issue when first shopping for Duff because the person who I got him from said he was a yorkie/ chihuahua mix and judging by his parents he shouldn't get larger than around 10 pounds.... well - he's actually 18 pounds and such a big boy for what is supposed to be a small dog lol!!! So he grew out of most of what he had. Luckilly, at a year and a half old I do think he is done growing now. I stopped buying him stuff for awhile since he just kept growing out of it!
I wonder what he will be for Halloween this year..... he was a ladybug last year.

Depending on his size, baby/preemie clothes are always the cutest outfits, places like Toys R' Us and Babies R' US have great clearance sections.
I've seen some things clearanced at Target, but the doggie shirts are mostly girly outfits with too much sparkles for my taste.

Chester is one handsome boy! especially like the pirate outfit, he looks like he does too!
I think the online store associated with Petfinder.com, the rescue organization, has some dog clothing. It is probably about the same in price as Petco or Petsmart but the money earned helps support rescue animals.

I would have to shop at Big & Tall for my dog, LOL. Bud just is not fond of dressing up, I guess it's not manly enough for a 127 pound weimaraner! http://www.flickr.com/photos/41816176@N02/3887736033/http://www.flickr.com/photos/41816176@N02/3888518888/in/photostream/

I have a poodle...sophie...and boy does she LOVE to dress up. She acts like she hates it when I have to take off her "clothes" to change them. ha ha...and in the winter she has a red coat with white fur around the hood ( I found it at Target) and she will just sit and wait for me to get it down and put on her before she steps outside...ha ha....I have thought about trying to make some clothes for her...but since I am just in the early stages of learning to sew...hmmm...Im not sure how they will look...ha ha..but Im sure my baby will love the outfit and me just the same....

I would try Goodwill for teddy bears with cute clothes on and wash the clothes and you have a cheap outfit. The pic I posted a while back was a Boyd's Bear outfit that came on a teddy bear I got at Goodwill. (It helps that we have a clean & well organized thrift store)

I have a maltese puppy that I have started buying clothes for. Like someone mentioned, PetEdge is good, they are a wholesaler, but they will sell to individuals as well. You can get dresses, sweaters and stuff for 7-8 dollars, less if on clearance.
I cant remember if you said you had a boy or a girl. My puppy (Sugar) is a girl. Just like most sites and places, you have to search through for the best deals. I have coupon codes for extra savings from most of these sites in my email. I will leave the codes in another message
PetEdge (http://apparelandaccessories.petedge.com/catalog/thumbnail.jsp?N=2357&Nr=CATALOG_ID:51&Ns=PRODUCT_DAYS_AGO|0||PRODUCT_SEQUENCE_NO|0&parentCategoryId=189&categoryId=198&subCategoryId=205)
Dog.com has great clothese on clearance sometimes, I have paid 2 and 3 dollars for things, and toys for $1 sometimes. Regular prices are not as great.
Dog.com (http://www.dog.com/Search.aspx?PageNo=2&query=&path=cDOGp840&sort=descending)
The only two places that have decent prices (I'm like you, I won't pay alot usually), are BaxterBoo.com(mostly clearance only), and Walmart.com clothes sections.
BaxterBoo.com (http://www.baxterboo.com/dogs/dog-clothes/?start=91&sortby=date)
They have cute tshirts, hoodies
Walmart.com (http://www.walmart.com/browse/Dogs/Apparel-Accessories/_/N-58ffZaq90Zaqce/Ne-57ix?ic=48_0&ref=243033.244203&tab_All&catNavId=202072&fromPageCatId=202072&catNavId=202072)
I like the pj's because Sugar doesnt like blankets, so they are good for cold weather.

I do get emails from Baxter Boo. I think I found them through yorkietalk.com. They have this little hooded frog towel that is SO cute! I've been waiting for it to go lower than $16 though. I won't even pay $16 for a towel for myself!! I'll have to go on there and check out their clearance again.
Love the pic of your maltese in the pink/yellow outfit.
I have boy dog. The girl dogs are much better catered to when it comes to clothes, that's for sure!

There is no better online site than dog.com. I just bought my SugarBaby 10 different outfits and they were all $1.99 to $3.99. And they are absolutely adorable and very good quality. If you are use to buying clothes at Walmart or Petco, you may want to order a smaller size. These clothes are very well made and seem to run a little big. I also bought her some great toys for Christmas on clearance! Great deals and real nice people to deal with.

My Molly LOVES to wear t-shirts, especially in the winter. For awhile she was very fond of pj's, but it is so hard finding them in her size.
I really appreciate all the tips from the posters on here-I can't wait to go shopping for my furbaby!

My puppy is way too big for clothes you buy at the store and he's not too happy wearing anything (though my daughter was able to dress him up by bribing him with treats - this was 3 years ago, weighing in at 90lbs)!! :hysterical:
I can say that I was in Petco today and they have 3 bins full of clothes for dogs on sale - all for $1.99

I pick through Petco's clearance stuff everytime I'm in there. I've bought a couple things, and right now all that's left is stuff for XXS dogs. Their clothes are waaayyyy too expensive. It's clearance or nothing at all at Petco!

The Lakeside Collection magazine just came in the mail today. They have a set of 4 t-shirts for x-mas (I know, a ways off yet) for under $10. I think they said like, naughty, nice, I ate santa's cookies. Stuff like that. They were pretty cute.

having bigger dogs I normally buy boys clothes and tailor them for doggy bodies. there is nothing that will last in the affordable big dog clothes. and I never learned to use a sewing machine.
