Does anyone know if you can use a raincheck along side an in-ad coupon? I have a raincheck for the Venus disposable razors and it would be sweet to get free shaving gel too (from the in ad coupon).

GOS is gift of savings, Rite aid does it a couple times a year I guess(I havent couponed for a year yet but they had it around christmastime too...) spend $100 (before coupons) - submit your receipts, and you get $20 back. I think it is like a check you can only use in store though....

Whenever a store has a BOGO promo...if you have a BOGO q you can end up getting both items free! If you also have a $1/1q for that same product it can be a MM if you're store will let you use that q. I'm actually not sure why a store wouldn't let you use a $1/1 q with a BOGO..since you're techinically "buying" the first one. I usually recommend giving the $1/1 q first, then the BOGO q and as long as you have a filler to eat up that extra $1 you're making so the register doesn't show it as owing you $1...you should be good. Then again...every store's different...but that's how I plan on trying it. :whistle67:

1 covergirl will count toward the gos - as technically it will ring up (for example) $6.99 for 1 and $0.00 for 1 - then both free w/bogo q.

I would wait, if you can, till next week to get Huggies Pullups. They have a rebate deal running - get $10 back when you buy 3 Huggies Diaper or pullup products.
It would look something like this
Huggies Pullups
Sale: $11 each
Use: 3 X 2/1 Huggies pull up coupons
Use: 1 $2/1 Huggies Rite Aid video values coupon
SCR (#4):10/3
SCR: 1
Total/Math: Buy 3=33-13(3 MQ's and 1 RA $2/1 coupon and $5/25 coupon)=$20-10.00(SCR)=10.00 for 3.

Actually I received on Wednesday a Red Plum 9/13 coupon insert from a friend at church. The Johnson and Johnson coupon was in there, but it is decidedly a regional coupon, because the RP 9/13 inserts on sale on Ebay do not contain them.

ok I'm a new mom and confused about the johnson's deal. Which ip's count towards it? I don't buy a lot of inserts yet so I only have 1 manny. I printed out some ip's one is for baby bubbl bath and wash, is that the one in the ad? I also have an oil coupon and a shampoo coupon. I don't really want oil, is everything on sale applicable toward the rebate?
Thanks so much!!

I am really not completely sure of exactly what qualifies - the ad says bath or lotion, shampoo, conditioner, cream, and powder. So I think that most of the items that the printable coupons are for should qualify. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!!!

How many B1G1 q's can you (or will you) use in one transaction for the Cover Girl deal? I have 20 of them but am almost positive my store won't let me use them all at once (not that they would have that much inventory on the shelf anyway).

I am not sure that the free one taken off on the B1G1 Cover Girl will be both lower ones if you buy two deals. I say this because week before last at my Rite Aid, when they were B1 get 1 50% off, I bought two liquid make-up that I think were 6.49 and then two blush that were $12.99. I was charged 6.49, 3.24, 12.99 and 6.49. I had put the four together so I could also use the $5 off 25. I am going to do the same this week and see what happens. If anyone needs it, here is the link for the $5/25 that is good until the 19th. http://www.couponsurfer.com/ons_show.cfm?id=45425&ons=53251242 (http://www.couponsurfer.com/ons_show.cfm?id=45425&ons=53251242) Go here then click on addtional link.

09-12-2009, 08:20:43 PM
Regarding the midnight question:
funny...I just posted this same question in the faq thread:
I would not have even thought of this but was told by a friendly cashier last week that their "serious" couponers come in at midnight and hit the sales hard. So of course I want to do so, too! :^) But another customer came along so I didn't have a chance to ask her for more info. Like--do they have the ads to look at? When does the computer update, etc...so tonight is going to be part of my big couponing learning curve, I guess...
Clearly I am new to this level of couponing but I want to make sure the items are in stock. I'm not confident enough to throw rain checks into the mix of coupons and rebates. Good luck to you!

I did the Johnson & Johnson deal using 10 $1 printables and a printable $5 off $25. I noticed that the lavender shampoo had $1 peelies. I am giving the stuff to our food bank which makes me happy, but the cashier had a hard time with the printables and was complaining about me before I even left the floor. Fortunately the manager had no problem with them & seems like an OK guy.

is the $25 before or after coupons at rite aid?
so, from an earlier post, it's a better deal to wait until the week of sept 20th to buy pullups? $6.99 for pullups is much cheaper than usual. but the week of sept 20th, rite aid is giving a $10 rebate for 3 packs. is that right?

I bought the "Airwick Freshmatic Compact Imotion" at RA this morning and used the $6.00 cpn. The ad says 50% off "Imotions kit" or "Ultra Freshmatic Kit". Mine rang up at the regular price ($9.99), and I didn't notice until after I left. Should I call and see about getting it adjusted? There were NO sales prices on a lot of the shelves, so I'm not sure if I bought the wrong one or what. Anyone else have this problem? :shrug7:

I don't think it was on sale. Not all of them were when I went today. I bought the AW Scented Oil imotion, (NOT compact, but small anyways) reg. price 9.99, sale 4.99, with the -$4 coupon. The product for the $6 coupon was not marked as being on sale in my store, so I didn't try it. Doesn't hurt to ask, though...it was rather difficulty to tell, and they're really bad about marking the shelf at my store!

Not only were the Jumbo packs on sale for 8.99 (-2.00 in-ad coupon, or 6.99), but my store had the MEGA packs (regularly 17.XX) on sale for the same price!! I checked the shelf tag very carefully, and it clearly stated that the bigger size was on sale as well. It rang up just fine. That's a GREAT deal. Add any coupon (the in-ad coupon specifies Jumbo size, so you can use printables or from inserts) and wow! Use a 5$/25$ and you've got some real savings! If only I could count on DS staying in these long enough to REALLY stock up! :rolleyes24: No, I'd really rather he not need them anymore!

Nice thought-I am hoping that I can get my Qs from clippers before this sale is over. We are having a baby in a couple weeks and getting baby wash would be nice, plus I would be able to get the stuff for free after Qs and scr. We use the tangle free shampoo for DD which has helped so much with her hair, I need more of both.

The Johnsons for 2.99 at my store was a wide selection, fyi. It matched up very well with the printables, as I was able to access only one computer but printed like mad and still had enough to buy all ten bottles. Since we use these products, getting them for free (after qs, riteaid 5 of 25 q, and scr) is wonderful!!
I was also able to find several bottles with bonus samples or peelies. Hurray!
If only we could claim more than one rebate on this, I'd be buying even more.
Also: Wet Ones hand wipes are 1.99 sale, and you can claim one $1 scr. Look for the 20% larger bonus size mixed in.

At my store the compact was $9.99 regular, $4.99 after 50%. The freshmatic was $13.99 regular, $7 after 50%. There's a $4 q for the compact and $6 q for the regular size. Either way, you only pay $1.

Hi everyone,
I am back in the couponing game after a long absence. Today I went to Rite Aid and tried to pair a BOGO coupon with a BOGO sale for the Covergirl Aquasmooth. I had done this type of deal in the past with mixed results...it kinda depended on my cashier. Well, today the cashier rang everything up and the register wouldn't allow her to take the BOGO coupon. I am wondering that since this has to do with the computer and not the cashier's discretion that this will perhaps happen at this particular location everytime I try to do the awesome BOGO deals? I don't want to try this kind of deal again if it's going to be denied every time. I'm kind of a shy, reluctant couponer and I hate anything that brings attention to what I'm doing! Anyone have any thoughts or experience on this? I appreciate it!

I did this deal twice yesterday. Once w/o any attitude once with. I was also using a $5/25 so that may have contributed to my not so super exp. The cashier has to enter the cost of the "free" item. This is why the coupon beeps. Go back, take the policy with you. It is under the FAQs of this section and states you may use a BOGO Q with a BOGO sale. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Mine had this too. I googled when I got home and was able to find a PDF that listed the instructions and address to do the rebate. Also in my store the Positively Agless WAS included in the BOGO sale, so two of these got me to $30. I will see if I can figure out how to attach the PDF

I did the Covergirl deal yesterday with the BOGO coupon and had a $5/25. I was a little nervous, but it all went fine. I have found, though, that not only is it a YMMV per store, but also per cashier. When I went the other "cashier" on duty was also the manager and he doesn't like accepting BOGO coupons on BOGO sales. Good luck!

On the J&J baby products, the best deal is to buy 5 products, get $10 ($2 each). Buying 10 products gets you $15 (only $1.50 each). What were they thinking?
I think so too b/c I have 5 $1 coupons. So doesn't this make this free? I'm not too worried about the GOS b/c I shop at Rite Aid a lot. By the end of the month I'll hit at least $20. I like to coupon but I am extremely math impaired :(

no theres nothing wrong with using BOGO q+ BOGO sale.
explain it to your cashier like this if you have a problem:
Rite Aid is giving you one when you buy one.
you are buying and paying with your coupon which will be paid by the manufacturer (plus .08 handling fee)
so, both are free - the store pays for one and the mfr pays for the other.

Your right, it is Simple Ageless not positively ageless makeup that is included. And you don't have to spend $30 as OP stated. Thanks for pointing this out!

OK I am new to rite aid but here is what I was thinking. Please tell me if this is wrong somehow :)
#1
Covergirl foundation x 2 @ $10 each(or however many to equal $20)
Covergirl face product x 2 @$10 each
3 Johnson and Johnson @ $2.99 each
- $5/$25 RA Q
-BOGO Free Sale Covergirl
-BOGO Free Q Covergirl
-3 $1 Q Johnson and Johnson
= $.97 + tax
#2
Covergirl foundation x 2 @ $10 each(or however many to equal $20)
Covergirl face product x 2 @$10 each
2 Johnson and Johnson @ $2.99 each
1 Bounty Paper Towel @ $1.50(Filler)
- $5/$25 RA Q
-BOGO Free Sale Covergirl
-BOGO Free Q Covergirl
-2 $1 Q Johnson and Johnson
= $ .48+ tax
Get $10 Johnson and Johnson SCR, Glam Camp Bag SCR, and have $50 credit towards the GOS.
Does that sound correct?
Also I was thinking another nice scenario would be :
Covergirl foundation x 2 @ $10 each(or however many to equal $20)
Covergirl face product x 2 @$10 each
Tide Detergent @ $5.99 each
1 Filler to cover the $.01
- $5/$25 RA Q
-BOGO Free Sale Covergirl
-BOGO Free Q Covergirl
-1 $1 Q Tide
= $ price of filler + tax
That's $25 towards the GOS, plus free laundry detergent is always welcome lol :)

I have so much to learn! I think your scenarios look great--I didn't even think of combining the 5/25 coupons with enough covergirl product to make other items free...curses! I don't know the requirements for the camp bag, but it looks to me like a lot of free stuff (and rebate overage!)

Whenever a store has a BOGO promo...if you have a BOGO q you can end up getting both items free! ...
I got shot down by the manager on the Covergirl deal. He said because the item was already BOGO, that I couldn't use a BOGO coupon. He said both were paid by the manufacturer and it would be double dipping. Anyone else hit this?

He said that on all their BOGO deals the manufacturer is paying for the free item and that's why they can't accept BOGO free manufacturer coupons. I'll try a different store, but he already wrote on my coupon and crossed it out. Now it'll look really fishy.
UPDATE: I just called 1-800-RITE-AID and was told that I cannot use a BOGO free coupon on a BOGO free promotion. So it seems that customer service at the national level is in agreement with the store manager. I'm envious of those of you that are getting the deal, but it sounds like it's not legit.

I purchased 4 $9.99 CG items this morning along with a bottle of shampoo (I didn't want to look to obvious!!!). I used 2 CG BOGO coupons. They both beeped and the older cashier said the register was asking for the price. I very nicely replied that I had gotten all $9.99 products. She entered the $9.99 each and no problem.
My sister tried one coupon with 2 products and the register needed an override. She was questioned, but they put it through.
In my opinion, P&G would not know that the coupon was redeemed during RA's sale and not the week prior, so RA will get paid by P&G. I guess it is YMMV on the cashier that you get. Sorry that it did not work for you:(

I bought 2 of these last night as well. The shelf said regular price was 12.99 so I was expecting them to ring up at 6.50 but it rang up at 6.99. I didn't bother trying to complain about it just paid the .99 each and went on my way. I butchered that whole trip anyways.

I bought of the Ultra AirWicks - regular price was $12.99 - rang up at $6.49, used 2 $6.00 coupons - .49 cents a piece.
I bought two imotion compacts, and they rang at 9.99. She looked in the flyer and said they should be $4.99. She forced the $4.99 thru and got them for $1. each. I bought a $4.99 imotion refill as filler since I had a $10.49 Single Check Rebate from last month.
My total including tax was $10.47. OOP was 0, they gave me back 2 cents change. So they paid me 2 cents to walk out with $50 worth of product:)

My internet J&J coupons all went through, no beeps.
Had an incredibly painful chec out experience tonight..with a male manager. He scan and bagged it all, but when he saw my coupons, made me show him how each item matched each coupon AND denied me the BOGO CG b/c "you are already getting one for free". I tried to explain, he couldn't grasp it, it was taking too long and CVS was closing so I told him to take the CG items off (he was shocked I wanted to do this lol).
I did get 10 J&J and about 6 of them had the bonus bubble bath or lotion on them..pretty excited about that. Free baby wash should last my boys a long long time. Every time I complain about couponing, I think of how I got all this free stuff and stop whining lol.

I will definitely do the Johnson's deal. I have no need for makeup and traded away all my CG coupons. Are there any other scenarios that I should consider doing aside from these two??
I may have to check out all these Air Wick things. I've never bought any but I've been holding on to the coupons from the past inserts. (I'm a Lysol Neutra Air kinda girl, lol.) When I look at them in the store and compare them to my coupons, I just want to say screw it and leave. They all look the same to me! :hectic1:

It IS legit. And that's really funny that they told you that because I have a written coupon policy FROM THEM they emailed to me (a while back)stating "you may use a bogo coupon with a bogo sale allowing both items to be free" or something like that.
I would send an email and ask for the coupon policy to be sent to you and see what it says.
I did this deal four times, with four products each and a $5/20(25) coupon and got overage for other stuff. Got Tide, Wet Ones, Suave lotion, etc, all for basically tax.
oh- and I got several of the X/or whatever it's called- $12.99 and $15.99 at my store- all was free.

I did the J & J deal last night. At first, everything was going fine, then another cashier walked by, saw my coupons and said, "We can't take those. See how this one is in color and the rest are black and white? That means they're copies." They of course weren't. I had just changed my printer's setting to b&w to save ink. I told them this and also showed them that each coupon had a different bar code in the UR corner. They scanned them all and they went through w/o any beeps(well, they missed one which I had to go back in for so I could get my $2), but I was a litttle irritated that they implied I was doing something wrong. Its my least favorite part of using coupons, but then I get home and look at all that I got and then I feel its definitely worth it!

Okay so I think I've figured out why I'm having some trouble with this CG thing. I'm trying to buy 1 foundation..then whatever else I want (except the stuff excluded from the sale of course). I went this morning and tried to buy one foundation and a compact of eye shadow. But b/c the eye shadow is cheaper than the foundation it's automatically coming off for the RA BOGO sale and not allowing the BOGO coupon to work properly..since that q is BO foundation get a FACE product free. So, the cashier should do some kind of override either allowing the eye shadow to ring up at full value and the foundation to come off the total or just putting in the value of the foundation as the "free item" even though the coupon should be marked with the value of the eye shadow. I see why this is causing a problem for them. HOWEVER it is RA's policy to accept BOGO q's with BOGO sales and whatever way they need to get it done..we should still be able to get two products free! I'm really getting aggrevated that my store in my neighborhood is so poorly trained and has no idea how to handle these types of coupons. I left my entire basket of stuff this morning b/c they didn't even have a manager there that could "fix" it. GRRRRRR. I called the 800# and they are supposed to call the store to tell them I can use those q's. You would think retail stores would train their associates on coupon usage and not just stick them in front of a register and say "if it goes through it's good, if not it's no good"! I am just venting here....tired of being made to feel like I'm doing something criminal!

:shrug7:
Was that the ad for this week? I didnt' see the airwicks in my ad, so maybe its a regional promotion? I have tons of airwick coupons i'd like to use if they are on sale. I'm trying to decide if its worth going to RA this afternoon or not.

Hmmm...well that's interesting...I would think it'd be anything you use on your face :rolleyes24: I still don't believe that's why it didn't work...after looking at the partial receipt that was printing out it was deducting the eye shadow as the "free" item for the rite aid sale...only leaving the foundation left for the coupon to attach to and of course it couldn't attach to that. So I either need to get something the same price or more expensive than the foundation or they should manually adjust it to accept both coupons..which the latter would be my preference. I could see them getting finicky about it then and saying whatever "foundation" I bought would have to be equal to or lower than the eye shadow for it to be free..which if they want to be like that then fine...:hectic1:According to the Cover Girl Web site Face Products are:

I'm so frustrated with RA's in my area. Every single one of them has given me grief over using the CG BOGO q's. In the end I was able to do them but this last store kept trying to tell me I had to BUY one to get one free. I wasn't exactly sure how to correctly explain it so I just kept saying I'd done it at other stores and even their 800 # said I could do it that way. The manager got all uppity with me saying how long he'd been in this business and those kinds of coupons don't work that way. Finally in the end I was able to do it but then they decided to impose a limit on me. I know they have the right to do that but had I been Joe Shmoe walking in wanting to buy 10 CG w/o q's I doubt they'd have imposed a limit on me then. I feel like we're being discriminated against since we use coupons and I'm really sick and tired of it.

There are a bunch of different wick i motion products out there. That is how I got confused. The only ones on sale at RA are the large Ultra freshmatic with spray can (and at all my RAs they had sale tags on the shelves) and the i motion compact with essential oil (not marked at any of my RAs but in the circular)
There are also mini i motions, and compact i motions with mini spray cans. They will not work with my insert coupons.
So check carefully because they all look the same to me! HTH :)

I have never done deals at Rite Aid before, so I'm very new to this. I came up with this scenario, so please let me know if it should work or not.
Buy:
5 Johnson & Johnson products at 2.99 each = $14.95 before coupons
2 Covergirl products at 6.99 - 9.99 each = 13.98 - 19.98
Total before Coupons: $28.93 - $34.93
- 5 $1.00 J&J Coupons
- 1 BOGO CG Coupon
- $5/25 Rite-Aid Coupon
Total after Coupons: $3.95
Get SCR for $10 for buying 5 J&J Products
Does that sound right?
ETA: I know that I need to pick Covergirl products that work for the sale and for the coupon, and that they both need to be exactly the same price for the register not to go bonkers.

I am definitely going next week too and getting those Huggies dipes, I have my KC gc so I think I'll use that since I already used my free voucher for dipes, but I've got $10 in Qs that I can use and then I'll get the SCR, so I'll pay $13 for 3 packs of dipes that are normally $11.49 a piece, but the $13 isn't even OOP, it's on my GC, so not that bad. I just wish I hadn't used that darn free voucher, it could have been a much sweeter deal. Oh well, I guess I can't win em all(although I sure want to).

Hi Folks!:wavehi:I'm Lianne, new to the Rite Aid folder@ HCW.
While I was getting my J&J items today I spotted the Laptop Caddy marked down 50% from 44.99 to 22.50. There was a page of Back to School Q's in the rack with the circulars for $4 off this item (exp. 9.19). So my best scenario involves the $4 Q, added 2.50 in filler, $5/25 Q (I don't have the $5/20) and $1 Discover card Q. Total after Q's 12.50 + the fillers.
I put the table together tonight. It was a bit involved but it seems very sturdy and it's a nice cherry wood color. I like.

If any of you have a Publix nearby, check for those $3/2 J & J blinkies. They're back (at least in my store, and others have reported seeing them, too).
I did this today.
10 J & J baby products
5 $3/2 blinkies
Paid $15ish OOP
Will get a $15 SCR.
The last official word I saw here was that these blinkies were ok to use on these products since the wording says "any two J & J products." If it's been updated and I missed it, please have mercy on my soul, mods, and know it's an honest mistake and I'm not suggesting anyone do anything unethical. There was a stickied post around here that gave the go ahead with these blinkies.
And forgive me, also, if I've missed a post on this thread that has basically already covered the same thing and I missed it.
Yay for baby shampoo. It's great for washing dog faces.

Nice coupon! I found a few $1/1 Peeiles on the items that were part of the sale, long expiration too. They had a lot of packs with a free small bottle of J&J with the 15oz ones- bonus!:BigHand:
Oh ya! They had hair wraps for drying your hair (kwim?) on clearance for $1 down from $2. Got two as filler, not bad!

What Covergirl products are you all getting by using the BOGO coupons?
I had quite a time finding 2 products that cost the same, one of which was a foundation and the other ended up being a blush.
Or, will it also work if you use 2 coupons at once, buying 2 foundations that are the same price, and two face products that are the same price?
Seems like if the foundations are more, the coupon and the sale are going to want to make the face product the free product.

Speaking of Rite-Aid, I JUST started shopping there. I don't want to wait until next week, so I'm doing this deal today.
Covergirl Makeup is BOGO, so I'm getting two items that are exactly the same price and that also match the BOGO coupon that was in this month's P&G. I'll get those two items free. I'm doing this mainly so I can use a 5/25 or 5/20 that I have for Rite-Aid.
Then, I'm getting diapers--I'm unsure of how much they are there, but let's say 12.99.
12.99 - $5/25 coupon, - $2 Rite Aid Huggies Coupon (from watching videos), -$3 home mailer Huggies coupon.
Final price, 2.99 for diapers--less if there's a cheaper pack.
I'll also have more money "spent" to get the gift of savings rebate, which will be $5-$20, depending on how much I spend.
I wish that CVS would start having deals again! I was forced to check out Rite Aid! I hope I'm never pressed into going to Walgreens. I have heard too many horror stories.
ETA: I meant to post this on the Any Diaper Deals this week thread!

good luck on the cover girl deal, I get shot down 9 out of 10 times using bogo q's on a bogo sale at Rite Aid. I don't even bother wasting my time anymore. The Rite Aids around here are horrible IMO.

Foundations do count as face products, so you can just buy two of the same item. Also, the Trublend Microminerals (the one that's a loose powder in a tube with the brush -- costs 12.99) comes in foundation, blush, bronzer, and transluscent so you could mix it up that way if you prefer.
The BOGO q doesn't actually say that the free item has to be of equal or lesser value, and at my store they haven't given me any trouble about it.

No, the Q does not say that, but in my experience--the register automatically deducted the lower amount item instead of the higher one.

I went two days in a row and had no problems at Rite-Aid. The first time, the cashier had to enter in the price of the coupon. The second time, the assistant manager handled four separate transactions for me and he was super nice. He thought the computer was telling him he could only put in the coupons for half price. I told him it worked for full-price the day before and he manually put it in.
All in all, I used 6 BOGO coupons for the BOGO deal.

good for you:BigHand::BigHand: I wish I had good Rite Aids. The one around here is full of haggy cashiers/managers that don't want anybody to have a good deal:sad:

I did the covergirl minerals foundation ($12.99) with the BOGO Q. Then I also got five Johnson & Johnson products. 3 shampoos @ $2.99 ea., and 2 leave-in-conditioners @ $2.99 ea. They qualify for the SCR for J&J.
Spent $12.35 OOP ($2.40 was tax) and I'm getting $10 back from the SCR. Schweet! :BigHand:

Anyone have any luck getting anything with the BOGO CG coupon other than 2 foundations? I tried two different stores between last night and today, wanting one of the mineral foundations and a mineral blush. Each were priced at $12.99 but when the cashier scanned the coupon it said something about the items not matching the coupon.
Advice for me to try other than to get 2 foundations?
