I just got back from Meijer, where all of a sudden (in the last week) coupons don't work with BOGO deals anymore??! For example: Buy 2 Eggo waffles, get one free. I used the $1 off 2 boxes coupon from the Kellogg's insert thing from a few weeks ago. It *should* have rang up 2 boxes @ $1.96 each, then a third one $1.96 minus $1.96 free item. Then at the bottom, it should subtract my mfr coupon, right? Instead, it now says limit of $1.96 reached, and only took off $1.46 for my "free" item. The woman at the service desk said it's because it's accounting for my coupons, and taking the coupon amount off the "free" items. That's just wrong, isn't it? Like the Reese's deal....I'm out 3 bogo coupons, because since the register took my coupons, it didn't give me the buy 3 get 3 sale.

You know, I did the buy1,get1 free also, didn't realize that's why it rang up as 6 coupons. I was going to take the receipt back. Should I still? I've not had a problem before with them being free.

I'm having the same problem-bought 2 planters peanuts that were bogo, used $1/2...shows -3.39....then limit of 3.89 reached. Also messed up my reeses, only ONE candy bar was free...going tomorrow to get it fixed, how irratating!! There is a discussion about this on another site.....seems meijer "tweaked" their coupon system & all kinds of ppl are having probs....

I was going to go ask about mine. I bought the Yopiat yogurt that gave you a free pack if you bought a certain amount. I bought that and used two >6 off 6 coupons. Then it takes 2.43 off for the "free Item" not 2.50. well .6 big deal but multiply it out by every customer and you get a good amount. Why should it take off $ from the free item they offer if I am using q's on the other!!

On my receipt 6 were purchased, 3 rang as 74 cents and 3 rang as free and then at the bottom the one coupon hubs used (no idea why he only used 1) appeared taking off 74 cents. The waffles were messed up, but the reeses looks right to me.

I had this problem with the last 10/$10 items... I bought 11 creamers and it said "dollar limit reached" and only took off $.50 for the 11th item... hmmmmm... don't think I like their "tweak"

I *tried* to have it fixed up at service, but they told me that's just the way it is now. I was told if you use coupons, it will subtract the $ from the "free" item, making the item not free. She said they're doing it to "crack down" because of things like SA and stuff. I wrote a pretty scathing email, but we'll see. I'm pissed, especially because of the Reeses...I basically paid the exact same as I would have had I not had coupons, but I'm also out the coupons now, too. AND Meijer is getting reimbursed for the coupons anyways!

sa is doing exactly this (trolling for deals) but you pay a company (sa) to do it for you.
I went to customer service today to fix my issue, they refunded me all I was out, apologizing...gonna have to watch my coupons go through like a hawk-they won't be getting any extra outta me!!

They had better fix this and quick! Between this and the MB not ringing up "correctly", they are about to have some angry shoppers on their hands. Now is not a good time to pull a fast one on people and short them money.

Nope, they just find the deals and then make you pay them to tell you where they are!

had this problem today with the velveeta bogo coupons and the MB coupons. It took the .50 off each velveeta correctly but then when they put in the bogo manf coupons it took .50 off one of the velveeta cups.
So when my total should have been .38, it was $1.38. I had a beyond awesome manager? CSM? open a lane for me so she could help me out and ring out all 8 of my transactions and she took the missing dollar off each one but said the new system won't allow Meijer money to come off things you aren't actually paying for so a heads up on that one.
I should write corporate a letter praising her for how friendly, quick, efficient and helpful she was but that seems to go against the new corporate policy on how to treat couponers! :wink7: (I'm going to write the letter anyway because that has never happened before and saved me about an hr trying to deal w/ the Uscan cashier)

Sa started right here is my neck of the woods, west michigan. It has caused many problems for couponers. They get info and go crazy. Most do not take the time to really learn coupon etiquette. I was told by one cashier someone came up with a whole cart full to the top with shells and cheese. (when it was a freebie or MM) after that they had a "meeting" and started to look at EVERY coupon like they had never seen one before. Once the Info is sent out to the subscribers good luck finding anything on the shelf!
Sorry but I have a real issue with the whole thing. Has caused us seasoned couponers much aggravation. And this may be a sexist thing to say but leave it to a man to charge for something you can get for free! It cost $20 a month!

I was going to use a bunch of these coupons tomorrow. I will have to find my good cashier. I swear I hate this new policy.

I just called my state AG (MI) and they said this is not legal and we should file complaints.

This is how it is in Gaylord/Traverse City Meijers too. It's been this way for a while.

Humm this explains why I had to actually pay something for the reportedly 'free' yoplait parfait WYB 10 yogurts. Sneaky people! BTW- the one I got tasted nasty too! boo!

So are they ringing the products as 1/2 price instead of one at full and the next as zero?? I mean I don't get it: ( My local spartan store advertises BOGO's and then charges 1/2 price. Not bad cause you can use 2 coupons.

No...here's a for instance:
The waffles are buy 2, get one. I had a $1 off 2 coupon. They rang up 2 @ $1.96 (regular price), but for the third, "free" one, it said limit reached or something like that and only subtracted $1.46 instead of the full $1.96 because I had used the coupon. So in essence, I paid .50 cents for the "free" item.
