A new LinkBack has been recorded for a thread you have participated entitled
............
never gotten any of these until today.........and I have gotten 15 in less than 30 minutes. Other sites are linking back to post on HCW.
How can I stop this unwanted spam?
All links direct me to the HCW thread and no way to unsubscribe from the site that is doing this. Different sites on different linkbacks.
It's linking back to threads are are 6 months old. JUNK.

the above is doing some of them. I see no way to un-subscribe.
It's related to Harris Teeter.......only option I see is TOO subscribe.
I could come back tomorrow and have 100's in my box. I've gotten over 20 already in a short time.

so I hate put send them to junk.....

Do you mean your getting email's from HCW? I got one, outside of PM's yesterday which was kind of weird but not pingbacks....
I wonder if you should PM adminstration here.

I am also being bombarded with these. I have gotten about 100 today. How can we make them stop?? There has to be a way to get rid of this SPAM.

I have never heard of anyone getting emails about linkbacks. OP can you please forward one of these emails to me at heidi AT hotcouponworld.com (use the AT sign)

well, the truth is the e-mail address where they are coming from is the one I listed above.
Now the names of the sites that are being linked to a thread on HCW are different. I'm getting one for every comment I've made on various threads. If I commented 5 times on one thread, I'm getting 5 linkbacks.
It looks like HCW is associating with the sites in some way. One was frugal.com I think. DEAL site but................ :shrug7:
I want the same rights as I have with credit card companies, the right to OPT OUT without endangering my HCW membership. :sad:

Never heard of this happening before. If you get them please feel free to delete them. The system should not be sending these emails.

We don't normally send "spam" to our members. I think this is flukey, and why it's only happening to people who've subscribed to certain forums, we don't know. But we are working on trying to solve it, so in the mean time, hang in there and we'll try to get an answer. In the meantime, let the "delete" key be your friend.

I think two of the forum linkbacks sent to me were Bloom and Harris Teeter.
Is it really spam? :shrug7: It looked like it was designed to alert us of other sites with possible deals?
What I noticed was it seemed to send one out for every comment I made in a thread and also the threads were old and no comments had been made in several weeks in those threads. :shrug7:
I got maybe 20 in a span in less than 45 minutes :sad:
and then none. :BigHand:

We actually suspect that this might be related to people not getting their email subscriptions for threads that they are subscribed to... so if we can figure out what this is we might be able to fix both issues at once.
These are not technically "Spam" per-se but a automatic email notifying you about other sites that have linked to threads here. But the system is not supposed to send out these emails to our members.
So I promise we are indeed trying to figure out what is going on and will post in this thread with any updates.
