What does rolling mean?

Hi! I am a newbie to this website. What does rolling mean? I checked the abbreviation master list with no success. Any help appreciated. Marcia:wavehi::thanks7:

It has two meanings actually.
1)to use "store money" to generate more "store money" ie. walgreens= RR's, CVS=ECB's, grocery stores=cats
2) If using an RR or cat for the same item and another one prints out: this is referred to as rolling also. this happens often in grocery stores but almost never at walgreens.

Example #1 You bought sodas last week and it gave you $3 (store money). This week you use your $3 (store money) to buy rolaids that give you $3(store money). You have just "rolled" your store money over.

Example#2 You bought sodas and it gave you $3. You buy sodas again, use your $3 to pay, and it prints out another $3.

Welcome Marcia. I will give you an eg to explain it. Last week I bought 2 bottles of benedryl and got a $5 RR. This week I will try to buy some other item using the $5 RR I got from before and try to get another $5 RR, I will do that again the following week and so on. So I try not to spend too much of my money but ROLL the RR. I hope you get it. Just keep buying stuff that produce RRs with RRs. The same goes for CVS ECBs.

In addition to the definitions above, you might have seen the word "rolling" in the coupon database for a printable coupon expiration date. That means that the expiration date depends on when you print the coupon. Many coupons expire 30 or 60 days from the date you print. So we say the expiration date is "rolling".
