At lunch time I went to Meijer, and while ring out (at self checkout), received a new message when I rang a coupon. The message was "COUPON EXPIRED". WOW!!! I don't use expired coupons (so I was super embrassed that I didn't realize the date was 6/14....) but the cashier was very excited?????? Anyway, she told me that they had a computer upgrade today and the system should be working better now (not so many coupon beeps/stops). Well -- it is working pretty good -- b/c now it picks up expired coupons!! In the meantime, they have also had a message ''coupon / item not recognized" -- so don't be alarmed if you see this as well. Maybe the changes / updates will help -- once they get the bugs all worked out -- to speed up check out. (My DH can never understand why it takes so long to go to Meijer)!!!

It felt like a miracle today - about 30 coupons, many of which were Mealbox, and NO BEEPS AND NO MISSED DEDUCTIONS!!!!!! Oh I hope it continues!

OK...I don't know where all of you are, but I shopped at Meijer today. The Col. Glenn Hwy store in Fairborn, OH (outside of Dayton). I noticed NO difference!! The poor cashier was trying to be nice, but you could tell she was getting flustered! Those $1/1 Bumblebee tuna coupons beep every time I use them. The error message they get is, "Coupon exceeds item price." Um...no it doesn't! The price on the tuna is $1.13, and the coupon is for $1. I bought 12 of them today, and she had to enter every one of them. Also the .50/1 Kraft 2% Naturals coupon beeped, telling her that I didn't buy the product.

Maybe they haven't fixed the ones in Ohio yet.

I would LOVE it if they fixed it so MB q's wouldn't beep! It would make self checkout so much easier!

Tonight I got several things and it did go a bit better than in the past. The mealbox Q's still beeped, but the U scan attendant quickly pushed something at their station and then I got the please insert coupon screen. I think that's the first time I've seen that for a MB. Still, I don't see their software should stop at all with the mealbox Q's, but I guess they're still feeling burned by giving away free Jello last year.

Also, I had a $2 cat from the country time lemonade and it scanned as $2 off just like any other coupon, without the "wait for assistance" junk. Seems a bit better maybe, if they would only got back to letting the mealbox Q's go through. But if the choice is 1 per transaction, or they each beep, I'd rather take the beeps so I can use a reasonable number (3 or 4) in one transaction.

Ok -- now I've noticed there is no longer any overage... today I bought Chinet plates which were on sale for $2.49. I used a $2 off MQ and a $1 MB .. the $2 worked and the $1 MB adjusted to $.49. I don't think that I"m going to like the new system.

The same thing happened to me. Honestly though, if the updates make MB q's and cat's scan correctly without making you wait for approval, I would gladly give up the few and far between overage deals.:shrug7:
