Does anyone have any tips for explaining quantities of items vs. ECB limits to cashiers when requesting a rain check? I live 20 minutes away from Cvs so if something is OOS I like to maximize a rain check by getting the full limit. Example with the Glade deal this week, spend 10 get 3, the ECB limit per card is 3, meaning I could spend 30 get 9. So when buying Sense and Spray 2/$10 I would need to buy 6.

I never seem to be able to explain this very well to cashiers who are filling out the rain checks for the quantity, because they look at the ad and see limit 3. I try to fly under the rader somewhat, so I didn't want to make a big deal about it, but it's kind of frustrating.

Does anyone have this problem, too? Thanks for any info.

I've only gotten a couple rainchecks for ECB items. Both times, they put the number of deals allowed per the household limit as the quantity. There was no discussion about it meaning the number of items instead of the number of deals. I didn't have a problem redeeming the first one for the full limit allowed. And I don't anticipate having any trouble with the current one I have for the J&J first aid kits. It seems like my store has precise ideas that all the employees understand when it comes to rainchecks.

I just got the raincheck for the Carefree FAECB. She wrote the quantity on there, but I also attached the ad to the raincheck incase there are any questions when I go to redeem the raincheck.

Maybe I'm confused, too. If they put down the quantity for the number of deals/not # of items and I get however many I need, when they put in the event code will the computer know the amount of ECBs? I have redeemed several RCs without any problems.

When I redeemed my previous raincheck, the cashier had to scan my receipt that had the items I was buying with the raincheck when forcing the ECB's to print. So I think the register knows through the event code and what's on the receipt how much in ECB's it should print?

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS clip out the deal out of the ad and STAPLE it to the raincheck. I have them do that the second after they finish writing the raincheck. Then when you go to redeem if there is even the slightest question about what it says on the raincheck, you can immediately show the cashier the deal that was clipped from the ad. I can't tell you how much time this has saved -- it avoids all confusion.

I always thought this too until I redeemed my Tylenol rc and I received a $3 ECB instead of the $9. When I asked the Assistant Manager she said the employees have to enter the amount. I didn't have the ad stapled to that raincheck and she didn't remember the $3 ECB was for each Tylenol limit 3.
She had no problems printing another one for me, but I would also recommend stapling the ad to the raincheck for clarification.

To the OP if stapling the ad doesn't work you could always give Customer Service a call and they could explain how it works to the employee. If you don't have a cell phone you can call or email when you get home and CS will have the store print the ECB for you and then you can pick it up next time your in the store.
