I've replace the ad that was copied/pasted earlier with the ad I have in MT (should be closer to what we all have in the NW). I've pasted in the matchups that applied from the ones Superbob got from SD. There will be more. Please check out the master list of UPCs for the Kellogg/Conagra deal in post #16. Please also see post #4 for lists of items confirmed to be working and not working.

Ouch! The Marie Callendars dinners are usually in the 2/$5 catagory!!!
I don't think those prices are accurate for our region, that was from the east coast and we are always cheaper.

Has everyone been getting the FREE Lifesavers packs? My store lets you open the packs and take out the $1/1 coupon inside and get em free because they are $10/10 this week. I have opened about 40 packs so far right in the check stands. The cashier even helps. Pretty cool Deal

Does anyone know if the Post Selects Cat is still active? If so that would the same deal as the week before.
Yup, 8/14/09-9/6/09. Looks like more 4/$1 Post Selects after two $1/2 mfg and $3 oyno which you get back after rolling. Only if there were doublers...

I was in Albertson's and all the cashiers gathered around told me there would be doublers tomorrow. I wonder why they were so certain? I was all excited until I got on here tonight, now I'm not so sure!
Here's my plan:
Keebler Cracker Sandwiches x 12 = $24
Hunt's Ketchup x 1 $1
Total $25
Keebler 6 x $1/2 -$6
Hunt's 1 x $.20/1 -$.20
6 x $2 fruit for each 2 Keeblers
Total $18.80
-$10 cat
So, 12 Keebler sandwich crackers, 1 Ketchup, $12 fruit for $8.80. I plan on rolling this three times (36 crackers, 3 ketchup, $36 fruit=$26.40 after cats)
If anyone is wondering: yes, we do eat that much fruit in our house! My boys eat it as fast as I put it out. LOL!
Does that all sound right to the seasoned couponers?

I got Sunday's RedPlum (8/30) in the mail yesterday and it has this Kellogg's coupon: "SAVE $2.00 on TWO of these tasty favorites from Kellogg's brands that provide fiber."
Then it has these pictured:
Foot Loops "now provides FIBER"
Apple Jacks "now provides FIBER"
Jumbo Rice Krispies
Mini Wheats Little Bites - Chocolate Flavor
Rasin Bran Extra
Pop Tarts - 20% Fiber
So... I'm asking you more seasoned couponers: can I use this coupon to purchase the normal "Bite Size" Kellogg's Frosted Mini Wheats? Or the Mini Wheats Little Bites, but in a flavor other than chocolate? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Also, for the Post cereal deal - $1.50 each WYB 4: Just Bunches are included in the deal and the $1/2 Post Honey Bunches of Oats coupon (7/26 SS) works for them! Tell me what you all think of this situation that happened to me today......
I had my 1 ketchup and 12 keebler snack crackers (and $12 in fruit), and the Cat didn't print. The cashier said it was because my total dipped below $25 after coupons. The reason he knows that is someone else came in with just crackers, and with the coupons rang up, it didn't print. But when he ran it again without coupons it printed fine. He told me that Catalina recently changed their policy, and they even told him that when he called them!!!
So I got on the phone with Catalina, and they told me that the Hunt's ketchup and the crackers are not part of the deal, because Kellogg's didn't approve it. Even though Albertson's printed it in their ad. Huh?
In the meantime, I realized that the ketchup is only 99c, not $1, making my total $24.99. Pretty sure that's why it didn't print.
After I got off the phone with Catalina (and even had him tell the cashier what he told me about the total being BEFORE coupons), the cashier proceeds to redo the transaction with no coupons, and the Cat prints! So he proved his point to me....or so I thought.....
I realized after I left that he did all crackers, and not the ketchup. So I'm going back tonight to do one more deal, with 12 crackers and 2 ketchups, and see what happens.
Has anyone else ran into cashiers that are convinced that the cat not printing is because of the coupons? How do you convince them? I thought that getting Catalina on the phone would resolve it, but all that did was confuse the issue, since that guy was wrong too. The crackers were obviously in the system.
I've never had something like this happen before. Thoughts? I want to be prepared if it happens again. Or maybe there's something I don't know about?

buncgirl - I had MAJOR problems today. I did 6 Special K bars and had $3.00 in coupons, $3.00 doublers, $12.00 catalinas and a $2.00 survey - My total AFTER coupons was $7.00 and I got my $10.00. BUT all my other transactions did NOT work. I must have been ahead of you because my cashier was a guy and I bought 13 crackers ($26.00) and I had $6.00 in coupons and $3.00 in doublers and got no catalina. So he ran it with no coupons and got the catalina to print.
Makes no sense, because the Special K bars DID print. I did another one with special K crackers, snack packs, manwich and banquet dinners - I checked ALL upc codes - total after coupons wast $15.83 and I got no catalina. He ran the crackers again and got another $10.00 for me, but then I did 2 more transactions and used minimum or no coupons just so I could get my catalinas. I got all of them, but my deals were not as good because I couldn't use my coupons and doublers on my last 2 trans.

I bought several different items yesterday, including ketchup. I also bought some other things. My total was $17 after coupons and I got the cat.
I can't remember if Albies is a store that puts these deals into the system manually or not. ?? The problem with that is that if someone makes an error on say entering ketchup into the computer system at your store, it may make the ketchup not work in your store but will work in every other store that keyed it in right. Just a thought.
I don't know that there is a way to convince cashiers of anything. I used to try but not anymore. I thought if I could educate the cashiers about coupons it would make it easier for other couponers. At some point I realized that half of them don't care and the ones that do care understand the promos and are helpful regardless. I find those cashiers.

Yeah, must have been the same checker. I went to a different Albertson's last night, and did the crackers, ketchup, and added on a 2-liter of soda (total around $26 before coupons) and the cat printed fine. So either it's the store's issue or it was the amount. I couldn't go back to the same store because there weren't very many crackers left (who knew that Keebler stocks their own and can't special order?)
I'm pretty sure if Catalina changed their policy, there would be an angry mob headed their way.
On another note, any ideas for using doublers? I have a ton of them.

I just read somewhere else that the key to the Catalina's printing with coupons is that the cashier must hit total BEFORE coupons are entered? Anyone know if this really is the case? I may try one of my failed transactions tonight just to see if this is true!

09-01-2009, 04:15:36 PM
Melaniee,
I have never noticed if a cashiers has NOT pressed the total button before beginning to scan coupons but that would make sense. By hitting total- they are sending that information to the catalina machine so it knows whether you have qualified for a promotion or not. But... some catalina's (usually quantity triggered and not $ amount) will print right after the correct number of items have been scanned and that is way before the total key is hit. So.....
