Okay here's the scenerio:
I bought the $6.99 headphones this week (FAECB) and the cashier was a little hasty in pulling out the receipt. On my ECB for that item, the "$6.99" has a smudge over it making it illegable as well as the first part of the barcode. I kinda internally panicked a little and the cashier just said "oh let me write that number in here". So she wrote "$6.99"
Um I have a feeling that's not actually going to fix the problem. :shrug7:I don't think it will scan at all. This screw up wasn't my fault (:BigHand:) but I'm still a little concerned!
Any suggestions?

sure- spend it soon, while she still remembers.

if you know her name, make a note. kristy. then say- "oh, this smudged when kristy pulled it out, so she wrote the amount onto it. i sure hope that helps. is there enough of the 5 digit code number to just key it in, or will you need to just enter it as $6.99? either way is fine with me."

i think it's a 5 digit- you might check before you say it. but they used to be 5.

I had an issue with the candy ecb's. They did not print for me when I paid so I checked my receipt and went back to the register. The manager said they can manually print ecb's. It took her a matter of seconds to print them out. I would take in the one you have and ask them to print out a new one.

I accidentally left an ecb on my counter and ds1 put his water bottle down...which turned the amount and part of the barcode black from the waterring. It was a $10ecb so I was flipping out. You could still see the (up to $10 value). The following week, when I got to the register, I showed the cashier the ecb and told her what happened. The bar code scanned just fine. So yours might too.

I don't think the cashier/manager can force print an ecb if you've already done a deal, esp if its limit one. So I would just try to use it as normal, or do what seedlady suggested. Sweet talking works wonders!!

I might consider going back when she's there and doing it...soon.
