Here is the deal.

Ongoing clearance - Playskool Newborn diapers. I think it was about the size of Pampers jumbo pack. $5.xx ( I want to say $5.49, but not sure.) It was either 25% or 50% off - did not have too much time to look. Not a great price yet, especially for size N. It can be a little better if you have $1 off any Playskool item, but still not great.

Upcoming - only 1 CVS in my area had tags "Get it while it lasts." Mega packs only. Pampers and Huggies. Other CVSs did not have the tags yet. Sounds like diaper aisle stalking :hysterical:

I'm waiting for the other brands to get discounted, I HATE the playskool dipes.... the tabs dont stick at all........ maybe ok for a newborn, but NOT a 6 month old +

Very interesting... I wonder if they are changing the package count for the mega packs and clearancing the old ones? Works for me!!

I am new to CVS (Longs convert). At my CVS, there were several diaper items marked with clearance tags but scan regular price at the scanner. As I am new to CVS, can you tell me if items marked with the clearance tags on the shelf are suppose to scan clearance price on the price scanner or is the clearance price manually marked down by the cashier?

There's an even better deal on the pampers easy ups size 5 girls only 23 count at Rite Aid that's been working that rings up 2.87 and with the 1.50 coupon they are way cheap but it only rings up that price for the size 5 that I know of.

The tags that you are seeing are "Get it while it lasts clearance." This is the first stage of clearance at CVS. It will ring the regular price. They are there to attract attention of regular customers who might fall for this tactic. Says clearance, then it is clearance... In reality, these tags are the first step, then 25% off, then 50% off and so on... For CVSers, they are the mark of future clearance. Means if you see it, watch it out... Check every week to make sure the price is going down and buy when it reaches the right price for you. It is tricky as some items never reach the price you want as regular customers buy it before that (they just do not know that it can get even better.)

I asked today at my CVS and was told they had no idea when it would really clearance. They did take my name and number and told me they would call, if they do I'll pass it on to you guys!

I saw these last week too, i scanned 1(the playschool) and it rang up reg. price, thanks pp for the info on the clearance, i will be paying more attention to the diaper aisles now, but they will have to go really cheap for me to buy, unless i have some ecbs to burn, as i am not even preggo yet and ds finally potty trained and now i have like 8 packs of pullups for the next baby stockpile leftover from ds.

anyone see any clearancing of these yet? My local stores don't have them clearanced, i saw them at other stores in nearby towns, that i don't frequent, but i got a 2/1 huggies crt that would be nice to use if they clearance these soon, my ecbs are not rolling well these past few weeks and would like to at least spend them on a good bargain!

I am in NorCal @ a soon to be remodeled Long's /CVS store and noticed the same thing. I was super excited to come across a clearance tag and scanned it. The machine showed reg price and clearance price as the same:sad:

I always comb the store for deals and hope that our region will match up with the rest of the country once my local store is remodeled.

Thanks OP!

Unfortunately that deal seems to be dead, at least at the several stores that I've price checked them. Sucks because my stockpile is gone now and I need more diapers. I just even called my local RA and they are ringing up at 13 something now!!!!

The playskool newborns and combined back (think its size 1 and 2 w/ 60 diapers) both just hit 50% off. I only found it at one store - the others are still full price and no clearance tags.

Not sure if I should wait or get them now - only 3 packs of each at the one store.

I walked in to a store I go to pretty often and found a whole table full of mega packs today, Huggies, Pampers and small newborn packs of Playskool, $4/ea. If only I had been prepared with some of the, oh, I dunno, 50 Huggies and Pampers coupons! Argh! I paid the "full" $4. I guess I shouldn't complain too much. :)

I bought 12 mega-packs of Huggies and Pampers sizes 4, 5, 6 for $4/ea, regularly $17.99/ea.

:BigHand:

{although, once a couponer, always a couponer- I keep thinking about the additional $18 I could have saved with my coupons. Rats.}

I just got back from CVS.. I was doing my $5/25 Flu Quiz coupon.. I stumbled upon the clearance and there were 2 packs of Huggies sitting right there and they happened to be the size I use for my son! I Price Checked and they were $1.97!! I ran to my car and got 2 coupons for $1.50 each.. At the end of my transaction, I spent $3.71 and saved $61.89!! I've NEVER had a deal like that before.. I just can't believe it! I read about all these other people and their wonderful deals and I can't believe I got so lucky today!! I'm going to check the other CVS's on our way to church tonight to see if I get lucky again!!

Reps to OP! My store had megapacks clearanced to only 50% but that was still a good deal for me. I got the lonely package of size 3 Snug&Dry (white package) but they also had tons of size 6 Pampers and Huggies megapacks both. And a few Playskool brand size newborn.

I walked in planning to buy the regular jumbo (36) pack that's on sale for $8.88 but instead got a package of 60 diapers for $9.00.

I was able to find Playskool newborn 40ct for $2.75 and size 1/2 60ct for $3.75. One even had a cvs coupon attatched for $1.00 off any Playskool item. I would love to find some Huggies or Pampers. My sister is due Nove 10th and we are trying to stock her up on some diapers. Guess I will be looking at another CVS tonight:)

I am in Nashville TN, sorry, I just checked back in on this thread. The mega packs I found that were marked down to $4 have 40-46 dipes per bag, for sizes 5 and 6. The huggies are in the car, so I don't know how many, but probably similar to the Pampers. I found sizes 4,5 and 6. The Pampers are Pampers Baby Dry and the Huggies I think, are Huggies Snug and Dry.

I went to one CVS, and they had megas in Pampers Baby Dry and Huggies Snug & Dry for $8.99. They did not have the size I needed, so I did not buy any. I went to another store, and they are not yet clearancing. I spoke to the manager, and he said the first store had kind of jumped the gun. He said that starting next week, the megas would be marked 25% off. Then the next week, 50% off, etc. He showed me a little yellow tag that says "get it while you can - clearance". That is a "warning" to someone that they better get it now, or it may not be here once it starts to go on clearance.

So, take your diaper coupons with you when you go to CVS, and be on the lookout for the rest of the month.

The manager told me he'd like to get rid of the Playskool megas he had. They were the wrong size, but I told him that I had heard they weren't very good, and he said "I know...that's why I want to get rid of them!" :hysterical:

I gave up looking and then just happened into a store today that had a cart full of Pampers, Huggies and Playschool. A friend and I shared the cart so there is still hope left.

Cashier said they had 6 carts over the weekend so I'm lucky to have found that last cart when I did.

There were sizes 1, 3 and 6 and the Playschool was a combined pack with size 1 &2.
