Winetag hunters- what are your tips & tricks?

Do you go certain days/times to find these? Are some stores better than others? I've found some great ones at Harris Teeter but do not seem to have much luck elsewhere. Anyone else in the Southeast area care to share some tips/tricks for winetag hunting??

Something I've found (I don't think this is area-dependent) is that different locations of the same chain will have totally different winetags. Here in Austin, we have one chain that has 3 locations within a couple of miles of my house. One gets all the beer promos - they have a little display area in the the front of the store, and along two aisles near the beer section, that the distributors will use for whatever the current promo is. I can usually count on at least one brand's beer coupons at any given time. They store usually has a fair variety of winetegs, but usually only one or two of each. The store closest to me is a smaller, older store and rarely has any. The store on the same street a few blocks down is a big new store and they are hit or miss - either they'll have nothing at all, or they'll have a ton of awesome winetags. That store never ever has beer promos, though.

I haven't been able to find a rhyme or reason for when they show up. Sometimes I'll find a specific WT at one store, and 2 months later it shows up at one of the others.

I have found WPN and NWPN winetags for the same brand, item, and amount on the same display. It pays to look carefully. Other than that finding winetags seems to be just about keeping your eyes open and checking at lots of different spots.

Just so I know, taking the wine tags off w/o buying the wine is legal, correct? Am I allowed to take more than one, what's the deal with that?
