Has anyone else been noticing Meijers doing weird things with their discounts off lately? I've had 2 things in 2 weeks. Firstly, last week I bought the 11/10 deal. I used coupons on almost every item, although I did have a couple of produce things. Instead of them giving me a free item or $1 off, they gave me $.25. It just wasn't enough for me to go stand in line for $.75.
Secondly, today I bought 3 of the Rubbermaid, b2g1free items and used 2-$1 q's. Regular price of each item was $5.61 and they only gave me $4.61 for the free one, the amount after the Q.
In both cases, IMHO, the free item was a Meijer discount, and the Q's are Manufacturer's. Both times I feel as if I'd been gyped.
I wonder if any of you have noticed the same things.

Yep... that happened to me last week.. I bought 11 creamers and it said "discount -.50 - dollar limit reached"! I have no idea what that means! I wasn't gonna go wait at CS for .50 though..

happened to me too. Just yesterday in fact. My free cool whip only took off $1.50 because one of the coupons I used decided to go onto the cool whip and not the jello like it was supposed to(thankfully I only had 1 of those!). Same with the $1 off Flour WYB skippy. That took money from the PB and shorted me the mealbox amount. Total shorted was like .66 but still that can add up very quickly when you are running a lot of transactions. I won't use another of the flour coupons since it's shorting amounts.

Its those darned mealbox cpns that screw it up. It you have a mealbox cpn on the 10/$10 11th free items, it will mess with the deductions.
As for the rubbermaid freebie - thats a weird one. The computer automatically took off the amount right? not the cashier? Are you sure all 3 items were $5.61, you didn't have a lower priced item?

I didn't have any mealbox coupons for the creamer... bought 11 and had 10 .50/1 coupons.. so not sure why it decided I only needed .50 off.. LOL

Yesterday any items I had coupons for and mbq would say item limit reached when it got to the price of the item. That had never happened before. I was going to do the huggies FOTL deal, but since I used coupons on the huggies the price I could pay was under $10, so the $10 didn't come off of the FOTL. They insisted I had to actually pay $10 myself to receive the discount. That had never been an issue previously. I had them take all the huggies wipes and FOTL items off. Their loss. Those were the only items that were actually costing me any money. I ended up paying $.80 for my dog food and peanut butter and skipped on out of the store with my loot.

The register probably decided you weren't paying enough. :wink7: Good god, the cashiers have trained the registers!!! :noway:

Yesterday I had a similar problem with the buy 10 packets of Koolaid and get $2.00 off sugar. Koolaid was already 1/2 off and the computer said I hadn't spent enough to get $2.00 off. The cashier said that they had been having problems with those and she thought the computer was actually programmed to take the $$'s of the Koolaid instead of the sugar.

Oh man..... I guess we are all going to have to start watching our transactions more closely now!! On Wednesday I did a transaction and received a cat for $3 off produce (miracle whip & OM bacon...not worth the price, but thought I would try it) anyhooo, knowing that I was going to receive this cat I had purchased a green pepper (.87), 1 dole bagged salad (.98) and pint of blueberries (2.00). When I used the cat on my current transaction it only took off $2 instead of $3. I keep the cat in my hand instead of putting it in the coupon slot (SCO) so the cashier could see that it clearly stated $3 of produce not "up to" $3. He argued with me for a bit that I only bought $2 in produce, so I pulled all three things out and we added them up...then he agreed that I had indeed purchased over $3 in produce. Only thing I can figure was that it hunted for the highest priced (1 item) produce it could recognize in the programming. But still SUCKS that I had to watch to see what the Q would do. These kinds of things seem to happen more often then not lately, and the ONLY reason that I quit shopping all Walgreens (freaky calculations on there sale items), I hope I don't have to boycott Meijer too!

They reprogrammed their registers regarding coupons sometime last week. That's what's causing these issues.
Sad to say, but I think the changes are here to stay. Guess Meijer will be making less money from me in the future!

I had a coupon for $1 off your order of $15 or more. My total was $20 something. The coupon scanned and (0.00) came off. Then asked for approval. The cashieer had to manually take the $1 off. Also the free Milk coupon. Now thats a good one. Milk scanned $1.25 ?? Maybe $1.50 (I don't have my reciept infront of me.) and the coupon scanned for -$4.50
