Ok, my fellow couponers, I need your help. My nephew, Nick, is attending a birthday party on Thursday. He was asked not to buy gifts, but, buy pet products that can be donated to a local rescue.
Please let me know where there are some good deals on food, treats, etc. Thank in advance, we all really appreciate it!

I am not sure about any deals but I just looked through my Red Plum coupons I got today and there is a bunch of coupons for pet stuff, Friskies, Beneful, Purina, Fancy Feast and some others. Good thing too cause my 4 cats eat me out of house and home, lol!

That is a really great idea! I'm happy to hear that some people care enough about the animal shelters not having enough supplies.

Home > PurinaŽ Give A Bowl® (http://www.giveabowl.com)
printable coupon for Purina food (dog or cat $3.50/1 last I printed it)
Short survey then you can print. Bricks coupon.
Can't think of much else off the top of my head. I had a Purina Q in a mailer from Target. YMMV on getting that since we just had a new one open a couple towns over.

Hi! I found Friskies canned cat food at Cubs - central IL for 5 for $2, and bought 30 cans and used two $1 coupons, each coupon was off of 15 cans. Therefore, 30 cans for $10/ 30 cents a can. Cheapest I have experienced lately. Purchase made 8/4/09. Marcia

i was just looking at the walmart cheap free for august thread and they had i think 1.00 off 4 cans of iams made them .25 cents each with cpn...definetly go back andread the thread though because i could be saying the wrong cpn but the cans were .25 each i remember that...alos dont forget shelters can always use bleach, paper towels, rubber gloves, etc so maybe if you call a local shelter or the shelter they are donating to u might get an idea of things they need right from your stockpile already:smile:

Petsmart has 9 Lives canned on sale for $1.49/4 pack. That is a good price, and even better with the $1.00 off coupon that was in the inserts a while back. It expires 8-15.
Using the coupon, the price per can comes down to .28 cents.
They also have the Friskies canned on sale for .40 cents per can, and there are coupons for $1.00 off 15 cans. The 18 pound Friskies dry is on sale at Petsmart and Publix for $10.99, and there is a $1.00 off coupon for it. That price is two to three dollars off everyone else's regular price.
Publix has their own brand of "Fancy Feast" type cat food, in the little cans. $8.99 for a cube of 24. My cats eat it, and it is not too bad.
Shelters prefer the dry food, so you might want to stay with that. Basics like Kitten Chow, and regular Cat Chow.
I'm not up on dog stuff, I'm sure there is something on sale for them, too. Check Petsmarts website for their latest sale. Prices are good through Aug. 31.
Old towels, garbage bags, and things like jillynoodle suggested are a big help to them.

I know shelters prefer dry but Dollar General has Mighty Dog single cans in my store. They are .60˘, there is a FREE MD coupon in one of the recent inserts. Mine scanned for $1.00 so I got overage.

What a wonderful idea for a party!
I noticed that Target had some varieties of Mighty Dog canned on clearance.
Other things shelters appreciate are basic cleaning items like laundry soap, paper towels, and bleach.

Animal shelters need regular litter for cats. The one near me doesn't want the scoopable kind. Ingles has Tidy Cat regular litter 20lb bag for $3, $1 cpn in yesterdays inserts. Friskies dry $3.50 for 3.15lb bag $1 cpn. Beneful 15.5lb dog food $3.50 printable cpn, can't remember where. HTH.
