Let me preface my 1st post by saying " I hate me some King Soopers" and I hope they go the way of the piggly wiggly.

I did an amp test run today (wasn't sure if the 10 dollar coupon would still print since we are on a new ad now) I successfully got 10 more free amps today w/ a new coupon printoff. I advise everyone to bleed this one dry if you or anyone you know is a fan of energy drinks. I am up to 240 now and plan on surpassing 400 by the time I go to Vail for vacation on Sunday afternoon (maybe ill hit up their City Market and bring down another 100 down the mountain with me). If you are going all in like me, make sure you start checking dates as you get into the hundreds. A few tips ......

Look at the fast and friendly gas stations for amp coupons. My wife and I found enough so far that we are currently running 60 dollars ahead on gift card vouchers (we've only paid 7 dollars for most of our 10 amp plus coupon packages)

Don't let a few checkers and service desk clerks who look at the coupon like its written in chinese deter you, if they can't figure it out ..... they'll call someone who can.

Tradin paint is a good flavor and has the most far out dates ( cause its a brand new flavor)

Have no shame ( its easy to feel like were doing something wrong, but were not)

Know this, King soopers sells their coupon to a 3rd party clearing house (per pound) and do not actually redeem them theirselves. So if you hate kings like me, just know that they are taking a huge shortage on this deal ( they're making the same amount of money on the 10 dollar amp coupons as they are on a 25 cent hunts tomato paste coupon).

Amps mix wonderfully with Vodka.

Let's all get 500 .......

How did you find that out? I knew they sold them to a clearing house, but I was told by the district manager (over coupons) that they sell them and the clearing house gets paid .04 of the .08 handling per coupon to process them. Did they change how things were done in the past year? I am just curious. I am not that fond of many of the King Soopers either, but I think they are getting paid more than that for the coupons.

I think it was 1st quarter 2008 that the coupon recap (amt punched in vs amt received by the main office) was absent from the overall quarterly recap. Starting near or around the same time, their was a large emphasis on retraining the checkers to allow absolutely no trash or foreign objects to end up with their coupons. This included training the closing head clerk to go through and quality control all the coupons at the end of the night ( about 1 in 10 actually do this). The reason being that if the clearing house found trash or pads of blue / white slip booklets in the weekly bags, they were docking us on price. From what I understand, they are now paying ks by the pound.

Wow! That stinks. No wonder they aren't that coupon friendly!

Haha, I thought I was the only one who didn't like King Soopers. The stores near me are so hostile to couponers that only super good deals like the Amp one can lure me in. I used 3 Amp coupons for a purchase of 10 and the cashier handed me back two and said "it's only one per purchase". Ugh! I had to explain the difference between a purchase and a transaction but she wouldn't budge and asked if I wanted to talk to the manager which of course I did and then I got my other $2 off. I stay away as much as I can.
