Meijer has Purina One this coming week... 3.5 pound bags for $5.99 and there's a $5 off printable on Meijer's site.

There are a number of cheap deals available.
1) Go to www.giveabowl.com (http://www.giveabowl.com). Take the quiz. Your responses should indicate that you want cheap dry food that is a value and that you can buy at your grocery store. This should get you a coupon for $3.50 for Purina Cat Chow. You can print 2 coupons per PC so if you want more than two, you need to go to your library and use new e-mail addresses and names (Use your family's with their permission if you want to stay honest. The coupons will print as long as it is a new PC). Check your supermarkets--Stop & Shop has 4 lb. bags of Purina for $3.99 so that's 4 lb. for $.50.
2) Check out the coupon clipping services.
There was a coupon for a free 16 oz. box of Purina Kitten Chow. I believe the only service that has that now is the one marked Dede. It expires 7/25 or 7/30 so you need to move fast & live near the clipping service for that to work. It cost $.40 a coupon plus a shipping charge. so it will run about $.50 per pound. The Kitten Chow is $2.00 per box at Stop & Shop. It was $2.19 at Shoprite.
There is a coupon for $1.50 for a box of Friskies dry food (16 oz.) which costs about $2 per box at Stop & Shop. I don't know if this one will be worth it. However, Stop & Shop has double coupons about every month. They don't have to double anything bigger than $1 but some cashiers will. If they do, this coupon would get you a free 16 oz. box.
There is also a $2 coupon for Whiskas Dry. I think it is a new product b/c I haven't been able to find it at Stop & Shop. I am hoping there will be a $2 16 oz. box so this coupon will get you free cat food as well.
3) Watch for double coupon sales, particularly at K-Mart. Stop & Shop has them once a month or so. These could make dull coupons valuable. However, even K-mart only doubles up to $2.
4) Look under the Petco posts. There is a complex deal there involving a $10 off $50 Petco coupon combined with six $8 off Science Diet coupons. You would also need to find some Science Diet cat food costing about $10 (I couldn't last time I was in Petco - dog food -yes, cat food - no, but things change). If it works it will get you lots of cat food for cheap.
5) Fancy Feast Dry - Some of the 3 pound bags have peel offs $3 off 2. Stop & Shop has the 3 pound bags 2 for $5 so with the coupon that is 6 pounds for $2 or $.30 a pound. My cats love Fancy Feast. I'd have to buy it anyway.
6) I believe a number of rescue people are happy with the Costco brand. I can confirm this if you are interested.
