Cub Foods - only one Q on BOGO?!

I got this from 2 different cashiers at two different stores.

The 2nd item is ringing up at "0.00", and they won't let you use a coupon on it.

Anyone else? I'm way over-reacting, but this is totally bringing me down. :sad:

Is this new? Have I just been getting away with something for a year plus???

It seems to be ymmv depending on the cashier/store. I've had problems with some cashiers on that myself. I think they're getting more strict on coupons. But other cashiers in the same stores I've had no problems.

Yep, that is what I have heard too. I tried using them when Electrsol was B1G1 free and using 2 coupons. It was a no go. Oh well. I am finding a lot of stores are tightening up their rules on that.

i had them question me with that on the Electrsol deal also but when i protested their reasoning the cashier gave in and rang up the 2nd Q.

I have had this problem with every cashier at every Cub. That's why I LOVE the BOGO's that require a Cub coupon. No hassles and it works perfectly!!

It's a hit or miss thing. I had the floor manager actually tell the cashier it should be ok, but when it beeped, for to many coupons on that product, she wouldn't force it through. Next day went to a different cashier same Cub different product he took all my coupons whether they beeped or not. I posted this in the Cub forum a couple weeks ago to see if anyone else had this problem.

Today I did the Gold'n Plump BOGO deal at the Mankato East store. It was not a CUB coupon, it was just as advertised.

I gave the cashier 2 $1 off Qs and neither of them beeped. I was sure one would since the second one rang up as $0.00. YEAH!

My suggestion is that you should always try it - worst case they say no.

It seems as though the metro-area stores have all had meetings about this, and most of the cashiers will not let it go. I have a cashier who will give me a raincheck for whatever I ask. I don't abuse it, but I'm going to pick up my BOGOs from 2 weeks ago, give them ALL the Q's, and hand them the raincheck LAST... :whistle67: Hoping that works. They're usually hesitant to take out the entire stack of Q's and go through them one by one. And with a r/c, they're going to have to override it, anyway. :shrug7:

I'm so overwhelmed working these deals, too. I LOVE the 30/15 catalina deals, and I'm trying to figure out how many times I can roll that before I go broke. I'm planning on buying the Swiffers for the P&G 20/5 + MIR, and I'm planning on doing the Kelloggs catalina deal, too and sending in my rebate.

I'm going to have to do a million transactions.

To top it all, I was out of town for the weekend and didn't get a Sunday paper. Not even one. :sad: But I hear this weekend is the one to buy extra for. I'm hoping that's true.

So I see if its an " add coupon" you have to cut out !! Then the reg will beep?? I have not tryed this yet but it makes me want to when I go later today to Northfield.
My idea is Ill try 2 coupons from paper + the add from cub I cut out !! Ya if it doesnt work that will make it hard to get the bogo REALLY cheep ??

The problem has been with the BOGOs that do NOT require the Cub coupon.

But one of the cashiers did it for me last night, no questions asked. Scanned the whole stack, nothing beeped, and she did look at them before scanning. :shrug7:

I think the trick is to get r/c and go shopping when certain cashiers are working. :smile:
