Kelloggs usually puts out a coupon booklet around back to school time with a rebate on the purchase of their items as well as lots of great coupons.
Looks like the Epic Event continues another week. I was glad it went the 2nd week so I could still get some tuna but now that I have all I want I would like a new sale. Oh well, maybe I will save some money this week or check out the sales at Smiths (Kroger).

The tillamook 8 oz cheese isn't a bad deal if you need cheese. It works out to $2.38/lb. I have seen it cheaper, but this is a good price for great cheese.

07-08-2009, 07:08:00 PM
I already have way too much mac & cheese, bbq sauce and salad dressing but I'll donate it or give it to friends/family. I ordered bunches of those coupons because they can be used to get the numbers of m&m items up high enough to use doubles on the higher value items that I really want. Mac & cheese are free in batches of 4 or 8, depending on your coupons, and so is the bbq sauce.
The main addition I really like is the Kraft Parmesan cheese. It's $3.49 wyb 10 Epic Items. There are $1/1 mq's so if you buy 4 bbq sauce, 4 mac & cheese you can get 2 Parmesan cheese for 1.49 each w/doubles. Oh, and the Tillamook Cheese is a great deal too and my sister says there are peelies around for those, as well.

If you wait until Sunday and use the third doubler (that is on the back of the RP insert) the deals will be even sweeter. We'll need to wait until then to see if we have five doublers because the flyer's doublers are numbered 1 and 2 and Sunday's doublers are numbered 1 and 2 and 3. Bar codes of the identical numbered Qs are different but that might just be because the dates for each set of coupons are different - I don't know.
I wonder if the RP Qs work today even though they are dated to start Sunday.
The RP Qs will obviously not be available instore on Sunday.

Yup! Mommasfrugal, there are tearpad Qs for $1/2 on the cardboard displays of the Planters Trail Mixes set up in the stores.
My boys love taking the trail mix when we ride 4-wheelers, so I'll be doing the 4 trail mixes and 6 Mac n Cheeses several times. I definately don't need the Mac n Cheese, but I know of several people who would be happy to take it off my hands!

I thought the tuna deal last week was incredible, but this week is amazing if you have a raincheck. I bought 30 pouches of tuna at 75 cents each ($22.50), less ten $1.50/3 coupons ($22.50-$15.00=$7.50), got the $1 cats for every five pouches ($7.50-$6.00=$1.50), and got ten 6-packs of chips free. $1.50 for all that. You can get 6-packs of Sunchips, Cheetos, Doritos Nacho flavor, Lays Potato chips, or you can get 5-packs of the 100 calorie pack chips. What a great deal!. I'm going for another 30 tomorrow!
If you don't have a raincheck, you could still do okay with the tuna sale priced at $1.25 (I think that's the current sale price). It would all come to $16.50 total, which isn't bad for 30 pouches of tuna and 60 little bags of chips. At my two Albertsons there were coupons on the shelf and at the checkstands.

No, you are wrong. There are 3 doublers in Sunday's paper - they are located on the back outside cover of next Sunday's Red Plum coupon insert. (Here in the Seattle area the Red Plum insert is wrapped around the Wednesday grocery flyers so we get it early.)
These doublers are numbered 1 and 2 and 3 so whether they can be used in conjunction with the Wed. flyer Qs will not be known until someone tries it. The bar codes of the corresponding numbered Qs differ.
These Qs will not be found instore on Sunday so you're going to have to find inserts!

I live in the Olympia, Wa area and I didnt get the doublers on my Wednesday Red Plum cover??? Just the 2 in the ad.
That is totally weird. You know how the Sunday supplements sometimes are different in the Olympia newspaper and the Seattle Times? Usually the Everett Herald supplements and the Olympia newspaper supplements and all the smaller local city newspapers have the same coupon inserts. (I get the Everett Herald.) I guess mail supplements are different yet - or this time around Albies just targeted a certain market to advertise to.
On the edge of my Red Plum it says:
Advertising supplement to Everett Herald, Mount Vernon, Skagit Valley Herald, Seattle Metro Group Select Sound Publishing Newspapers, Seattle Tacoma targeted mail 7/12/09
I wonder if my Sunday inserts will even have double coupons - maybe the mail Red Plum insert is the only one.

say it isn't so:sad:.....I am so depressed......lol
Well we can all still hope the RP insert has the doubles on the back page for everyone who has to wait until Sunday! Great for those who can get multiple copies!!! I'm afraid my store will be out of the items I need after the weekend so I am just going to do my shopping Friday night again.
I need to find 14 more tuna coupons for a friend. She almost has enough to cover her order- but my stores have been out of the tearpads since the first week the tuna was on sale! We had someone go through all the register drawers too and still nothing!

Ugh, if I ever see another tuna pouch! I got about 450 of them in the last two weeks! I will go chase the macaroni though - my kids like that and it's an easy fix for dinner since I don't have DH here to cook for.
Maybe the kiddos will learn to like it with a little tuna added, lol! :hysterical:

I have this weekends single page flyer ad that will be in the sunday paper! NO EXTRA DOUBLES!! Just a rerun of some of the weeks specials!! :((((
This time the put the doublers on the back page of the red plum insert. Not a special single flyer. I got my early red plum in the mail yesterday with 3 doublers.

The Pasta Salad stuff works OK with the tuna, just add a white sauce instead of the mayo and stuff, and maybe some grated cheese. Mash the tuna into the white sauce before you add the pasta as the packet tuna comes out like a pancake.
In other news, there are lots of Rubbermaid containers under $2 with the 1/2 price sale.

I'm in Western Washington. I am one of the lucky ones that gets the whole red plum instert in the mail with my store ads. (but my family 5 minutes away doesn't get it). Since the doublers on the back of the red plum are dated for use Sunday the 12th thru the 21st (long dates) I would assume they will also be in the sunday paper inserts. But that is all just my assumption.

I've had huge numbers of beeps lately, too. The system puts up a message about too many coupons. I've been trying to do larger orders though so maybe I'm hitting some kind of limit there. Do the stores get reimbursed when they have to override and type in the amount of the coupon?

I think the BC Fruit snacks are a good deal if you can find the $1/2 pink peelies. Buy 6 @$2 each = $12. Use 3 $1/2 peelies and 3 doublers. Pay $6 and get $3.50 OYNO (http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/albertsons-catalina-deals/251573-gm-fruit-snacks-up-3-50-oyno-6-19-7-12-09-a.html). So $2.50 for 6 boxes. Maybe not that great.

The bigger boxes are the ones on the milk promo, I did 3 this morning and I am tempted to go back tonight. It is the 17 oz cinnamon toast crunch, reeses, 18 oz Honey Nut Cheerios, 16 oz Lucky Charms, Cocoa Puffs etc. I do 9 at a time with my coupons and then add one other epic item like the tillamook cheese.

I live in Lacey and use both Albies on Pacific. I actually have an easier time on the one on Lily, I usually shop before noon and there are two male checkers that are really great about coupons. The one on Carpenter is also usually really good except for one older woman that hates couponers and always reads each coupon very slowly 20 times before she even tries to scan them.
Both of these stores and the one in Tumwater (I only go there when I need gas) leave the ads out starting at about 9AM on Wednesday mornings near the customer service desk. I have never had an issue getting copies, usually take 4 from each store.

My store is out of everything it seems. And I found out my Albies is no longer taking competitor coupons. They said they stopped way back in September (almost a year ago?!) but took them for a few months afterwards while they let people know. I guess I haven't used a competitor coupon there for a long time! But I'm bummed about it. Why can't they just do doubles then? Without the doublers coupons. Just unlimited doubles would be nice!! LOL (Yes, I'm aware I'm dreaming! lol) I did however find a ton of makeup on a clearance rack. Covergirl, Revlon, Nuetrogena, Max Factor, Physicians formula, etc. and every one was marked "$1.99 Last Chance Cosmetics." with a tag hanging down saying they were each $1.99. They still even had a tag of their price before, and I figured I paid about $1.20 for nearly $200 worth of make up. The Physician's Formula had a tag of $13.99, and I know I've seen some for a lot higher! So atleast I got something with my doublers today even though I didn't get what I was wanting! LOL And I also finally got one of those surveys for $2 off my next purchase, so hoping to use that to sweeten my next deal! LOL

Fun story for fellow couponers - I went to Albies today with my 3 year old and I'm 9 months pregnant, due in 5 days and trying to cram in a few more deals before I have the new baby. So I have my little coupon book with all my transactions neatly separated and we get our 8 bbq sauces and 2 capri suns, plus some other things. We start pulling into a checkstand with no line and a lady DARTS!! in front of me. I pull back on the cart to not hit her, causing my coupon book to fly out of my purse and when it hit the floor...BOOM!! It was like a coupon BOMB went off. The lady looks at me and says, "Well, while you're picking that up is it okay if I go in front of you?" Well, seeing as how your sprinting in front of me is what caused this little mishap I would say go right on ahead!!! I'll be sorting coupons and re-figuring deals for the next hour...woohoo!! :wavehi: Here in WA where Albies is doubling everything, this IS a good deal. My advice: Buy 4 instead of 6, pay with 2 $1 CATS from tuna or Skippy (or whatever you have) and double them; also use whatever mfg Qs you have. (I only have the $.50/2 Qs from coupons.com and bettycrocker.)
So:
4 fruit snacks = $8.00

On all three of my purchases of tuna using the 75 cent raincheck, I only got credit for 7 packages of chips too ($14 instead of $20). We figure it was because of the dollar value spent on the tuna. It seems the register takes two dollars off for every $4 spent on tuna (the current price is 3/$4), rather than for each single tuna. Each time the store had to manually credit me $6 more dollars. Keep your eye on that if you're buying more tuna with rainchecks this week.

I feel your frustration. When I did this deal, I kept annoying the csr to cancel my items because I had gotten the wrong sizes. The wrong sized cereal were in the MM promo area and on the shelves in the cereal aisle as well. Seriously, half the problems seem to come from the poor stocking job. I gave him some coupons, and a bit later, "oh, I forgot add this one in too..and this one..oh yeah, and my doublers too..and those $1 off q's I gave you earlier are the ones I want doubled.." I'm surprised he didn't kick me out of the store! LOL Thankfully he was very nice about it.
I went to Albies today and they finally had the Spray n Wash in. My plan was for 6 bottles of bbq sauce, 2 spray n wash (using 2 doublers and 2 IPs for .75 cents off), and a bogo for Easy Mac (they only give us the .50 cents off. If it was the $1 it would all be free) so for a total of .50 cents plus tax. But I saw the 30oz. bottles, which are not in the deal, clearanced to $1.99, and decided to not get any of what I had planned for. I really wanted the Spray n Wash cheap, and really don't need anymore bbq sauce or mac n cheese. I would have probably given that away. So I figured .50 cents for two 12oz bottles for a total of 24oz. (plus the bbq sauce and easy mac I didn't really need anyways), or .49 cents for each 30 oz. bottle. So I put all my bbq sauce away and wound up just getting two 30oz. bottles for a total of $1.44. Figured I'd get more for money of what I really was needing, even if I didn't have more items I feel I saved more this way!

hmmm...now I know who's cleaning out the shelves at the Pacific Ave Albertsons. :) I knew there had to be a few of us out in this area.
I find the one on Lilly and Pacific is *usually* more friendly. Though my last experience at the other one rocked...but turns out the cashier I had was just transferred from the Lily one! ROFL :)
I've also had the older lady who takes FOREVER and reads each coupon a dozen times. Very annoying.

Seattle Times and Tacoma News Tribune have the Red Plum insert with the Albertsons doublers on the back. Yippee!!
Meanwhile I had a BLAST at Albertsons tonight.
I paid $9!!!! for two things of Jennie O ground turkey, two 1+ lbs of chicken breasts, Sara Lee bread, french bread (free), bakery cookies (free), two bags of halls cough drops, and two things of hot pockets.
They had the Jennie O with a tag BOGO and I have $1/1 coupons that I was going to double for each. The Albertsons chicken was also BOGO and I had a $2/$10 meat purchase...But when she hit the total button it didn't take the Jenni O off. So I got BOTH of them for FREE!!!!!
And I had $5 off from the starkist tuna thing last week. And a $2 off from a survey.
I was tickled pink. =)

Has anyone tested to see if we can use all 5 doublers in the same transaction since they have different bar codes, but are numbered the same?

I didn't think this would work for me since I printed these Qs last month...but the page has been reset and I printed without problem.
Has anyone bought more than two per transaction? Does anyone know whether we can get more than one $1 CAT if we buy additional juices?

I just had a call from corporate Albies marketing. The guy told me that the rumor of unlimited double coupons - both in OR and WA - is just a rumor and there are NO plans for this event anywhere. He said that this rumor has even reached the marketing team at Albies (they had heard of it) but he said they had no idea where it was coming from.
I asked about whether doubling five coupons in one transaction was acceptable (some stores are permitting, some are not) and he said that the overlap of the coupons was a marketing error and would not be happening again. In this instance, however, all stores have been notified by corporate to double five coupons in one transaction.

Our lives would be so much simpler if they would allow unlimited doubles as a matter of course, LOL! We practically do it anyway through multiple transactions so it would simply save us and THEM a ton of time.

It should work for every 2 you buy in a transaction (like the Skippy Naturals) but these Cats are getting switched out over the next few days, depending on the exp dates on your shelf tags, so don't wait too long. We should be seeing a new set of blinkies too.

When I was there on Saturday they were taped to the bottles of Kraft dressing. But, they were gone when I went back on Sunday. I didn't grab any since I didn't need them.

I don't want to be a party-pooper, but unless your store posts that it's OK to use all 5 doublers at one time, we really should just use 2 of the ad doublers OR 3 of the Red Plum doublers per transaction. That is what the fine point says. It may have been a marketing mistake to have the coupons overlap, or maybe not. After all, not everyone gets the Red Plum insert (my local paper doesn't carry it). As long as they say 'per shopping trip' rather than 'per day', we should be able to comply with that. Albertson's can cancel this doubler program at any time if it turns out to be too unprofitable for them. I don't want us to give them an excuse. I know we're all enjoying this too much!!
OK, lecture over - back to our regularly scheduled deal-talking. :wavehi:
