In celebration of Independence Day I thought I would run a little fun contest to get our members in the patriotic spirit!

To enter just colorize and decorate your profile to show some good ol' red, white and blue!

And then post a link to your profile here in this thread, and also post about what your plans are for the 4th of July.

The winner will be picked randomly from all entries and will receive a $20 Amazon gift code as well as a Hotcouponworld tote bag!

To customize your profile go to your UserCP (http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/usercp.php)and click the link that says "Customize Profile" from there you can edit the colors, fonts, borders and backgrounds of the various tables that make up your profile. As you make edits you can preview your work and then save it when you are pleased with the look.

To add background images you will need to first upload the image that you wish to use into a HCW photo album (also found in your UserCP) and then paste the url (link) to your photo in the appropriate field(s) on your customize profile page.

You can do something fancy with background images or keep it simple by just changing the color, everyone has a chance to win!

And this 4th of July is going to be much like all our others we have celebrated since we moved here 6 years ago. Our town does the 4th real nice and it is the best thing about living here I think. In the morning we start off with a pancake breakfast at the fire station where we get our fill of pancakes, sausage and tampico (fake orange juice LOL). Next we head on over to downtown to find a shady spot on the curb to watch the parade. Entries range from local boy scouts, horse and auto clubs and really anyone that wants to enter. This year DH might be driving a float for his work, not sure on the details yet. The kids will be tossed candy and other goodies and a good time will be had by all. After the parade we will head on over to one of the parks for free lunch and contests and games. Favorites are strong man competions, mud vollyball (followed by a mud free-for-all) and sidewalk chalk contest. After that we will come home for some grilling and downtime (naps) and then head on out at dusk to the local events center for free fireworks show, games of fisbee and and football, dancing, eating, and hanging out. Then we will come home and crash! LOL

On the 3rd is when they hold the major fireworks here. So we will be watching them from our driveway, and watching neighbors. We will probably grill hamburgers & dogs on the 4th. We might go hang out at the pool all day, then we will watch fireworks from the river come home and go to sleep. We might sneak out to a parade somewhere though.

My page is Red, white, and blued with a twist :-). I've got patriotic spirit and state spirit too.

Well, for the next few days including the fourth I will be working at a Fireworks stand that our church is running as a fundraiser. It's a lot of fun and these next few days will be really busy. We all bring goodies and lots of good food and just have a good time. There's lots of laughs and great fellowship with our friends as well as lots of long hours and hard work.

As a family we usually grill out and watch the fireworks that is just down the road from our house but not sure if we will get to do that this year. Hubby and I might get to watch the fireworks if they have enough help and kick us out. LOL. But we will probably have to wait and grill out on Monday after it is all over and have our own little family celebration.

For the 4th, I'm not sure what we're doing. The city fireworks are postponed because of all the rain we've been having until tomorrow, if they get them off tomorrow I'll be surprised. There was a family cookout at my SO's uncle's but it got canceled cuz his yard is completely under water. But we're leaving on the 5th to go camping at the beach for a couple days so I'll be busy packing anyway!

We are spending the 4th with my parents and niece at their lake cabin. Not quite the same as the camping we did there when I was a kid, but it is a nice family get away. The boys(DS's, BF and dad) will fish~don't worry we are taking food just incase they don't catch enough! We will take out the golf cart, paddle boat and swim at the beach. We will put on a fireworks display on the 4th and make smores around the fire. I'm ready to leave now. Have a Happy and Safe 4th everyone!

Everyones profile is gray like no profile is set up. I can see my decorated profile but all the links in this thread show nondecorated gray profiles.

Not too fancy but I tried!

For the 4th we are getting together with my brother and his family and heading downtown to some for some music, food and games for the kids for a few hours and then we are all coming back to our house to cookout and set up outdoor activities for the kids and just enjoy the day. We may have some minor fireworks (sparklers, snap & pop type stuff) but others in our neighborhood usually have several. I'll have to head indoors for that this year...little ones hate the noise.

Hey guys! Well I finally found my way back online after a long day of activities we didn't hit home till almost midnight and then for some reason the little kids decided that 5AM would be a good time to get up and crow at the morning sun. LOL Needless to say we had a great day and I hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday.
