Hey all,

Here's a RAOK contest that will help both you and SBP and the Coupons To Troops (http://www.couponstotroops.com) project.

As many of you know, military families are near and dear to the hearts of our entire admin team. We've all had or have a spouse in the military. So Coupons to Troops was designed to help get coupons overseas to military families that can get them used up to 6 months past the expiration date.

But, it obviously costs postage to get them there. We'd like to add to SBP's postage fund and you can help.

For every person that gets signed up for an ING savings account this week, we'll contribute $5 from the HHH funds to Lesley's cause. And for every person that signs up and posts here that they have, we'll draw one winner on July 1st for a $20 Amazon.com gift code.

ING is currently one of the highest yield savings accounts on the market. It's all online, FDIC insured, and it's a great place to sock away your coupon savings for a rainy day.

Coupons to Troops is a service of Coupongirls, and mainly, Lesley's brainchild and cause. We'd love to help her out, and you can help us!

We'd love to raise a good chunk of change for her. And if you'd like to get involved in Coupons to Troops, or if you have a coupon project already you'd like to add to the directory there, just let Lesley know. You can PM her here or you can email here through the "contact us" on the Coupons to Troops website.

Good luck, and thanks for being a HHHer!

Thank you so much Julie and Heidi for all of your support with this!!!

I'd like to give you all a little background information on where the contributions will be going:

I've been the coupon project coordinator for my dh's Marine Corps League since 2005 when I suggested the project at one of their meetings.

I started couponing in August 2004 after ds#2 came along and I became a SAHM. Then I found out the our military families overseas could still use my expired coupons. At first it was taking me a couple of months to fill a small box of expireds but it soon got to the point where within a month the small boxes were overflowing, so I brought the idea of the project to the League and they jumped on board, committing to paying the postage for one box each month, and the members also individually responded by bringing in their unused coupons at every meeting.

The Oak Ridge Detachment Marine Corps League's couponp project (http://www.couponproject.zoomshare.com/) has been growing steadily ever since. We started sending to one base, Kadena in Japan, but we are currently sending to 8 different bases, generally sending 2 or 3 huge flat rate boxes every month!! And we're just a few months away from reaching the 2 million dollar mark in coupons that we've sent!

The league still pays for postage for one box per month so to help keep the postage fund going, we count on donations, earmarked for the project and I also use the couponing power of freebie and cheap deals to put together bag fulls of foods and hba supplies to raffle of at their meetings. I'm also currently working on cross-stitching a patriotic afghan to raffle off later this fall!! (You can follow my stitching progress here (http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/personal-challenges-support/243348-my-patriotic-afghan-project-2-done-pics-6-10-a.html#post1791639))

We use the America Supports You APO/FPO Flatrate boxes which cost $11.95 each to mail out, so for every 3 people that sign up for the ING offer, we can mail out 1 box and have some money leftover to go towards the next box. 12 people signing up will pay for 5 boxes!

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!!

This project is great! And of course I want to chime in too. Opening an ING account is great. Very easy to do and does not cost anything. You can start your account with as little as a dollar. I have been banking with ING for 3 years now and they are great. If you are looking to start saving for your emergency fund (or just want to start a savings account for Chistmas, Vacaction, a new iPod or whatever) this is a great online bank to do so with. They are FDIC insured of course. And I love that because it is online I am less likely to spend the money in my savings account at a whim.

Sounds like a great cause!!
I have been sending my expired's to a Military wife who's husband is stationed in Puerto Rico. She's amazing and appreciates every one I send. I really enjoy doing it.
