Okay - so I have been collecting my coupons for several weeks now. I want to start by shopping at Jewel. The problem I am finding is that my coupons are only for .25 or .50 cents off. NOt really that much of a savings.
So any tips on how to save BIG???? I am new here so sorry my guestions may seems silly, but there is alot to learn! THANKS!!!:giggle2:

I don't have a Jewels so not sure if they double/triple or not...or if you have a store that does. That is where the .25 and .50 q's will help and go alot farther than you think.
The best thing to do is go to the Jewel store forum and read their coupon policy info and the sales thread with match ups and see what everyone else is doing. You will also be able to get more specific answers to your questions in regards to savings at Jewel. HTH!
btw Welcome to HCW...you will love it if you don't already. LOL

0.25 and 0.50 aren't a lot individually, but when you combine with items that are already on sale, then the savings add up. And if you get 0.25 or 0.50 off everything you buy, it adds up. My general strategy for grocery store shopping is only to buy something if it's on sale AND I have a coupon. For example, Skippy PB is regularly $3.25 at Jewel. On sale it's often $2.00, plus a $0.50 coupon makes it $1.50. That's over 50% off the non-sale, non-coupon price! So the savings do add up.
And then we you do the catalina deal on top of that (e.g., if you spend $25 on peanut butter and other unilever products, you'll get a $10 "catalina" coupon (printed out of the catalina machine at the cashier) for your next purchase) then the sales really start adding up.
Also - don't forget to go to saveatjewel.com and register your preferred card before each of your shopping trips to get additional savings. And don't forget to check out the coupon database here and look for printable coupons for the items you plan on buying. There are a lot of good $1.00 coupons out there.

Like everybody else is saying the current catalina deal going on at Jewels is a good place to start. Read through the thread so you can see how you can save even more by rolling the catalina into additional shopping orders to lower your OOP (out of pocket) cash. Just wash rinse repeat. Once you have the first cat you should still have decent savings even if you run out of coupons you can use for the deal. Try to make your first run the lowest one possible and save the items that will have a higher cash outlay for the runs you do once you have a catalina.

Be sure to save your last catalina for the next cat promo for Conagra that starts 6/15. This way your first run will be low on this one.

Then before the end of the Conagra deal maybe somebody will have found out about another promo that will start before your last catalina expires that you can roll that cat into again.
Also check out the Coupon discussion by source to find additional coupons. You should be able to find some coupons that will match up with the Catalina deal going on now.
