It would be one sweet deal if these are not the same. One being a instant savings and the other a OYNO cat. :giggle2:Does anyone have a the info to call catalina and get the details?

06-09-2009, 04:29:37 PM
On PYP someone posted that they called. This is the info they were given-

Purchase General Mills, Coke & Unilever products
purchase between 6/4 - 6/17 confirmed @ UT Albertsons
Buy:
$10 - $15 - receive a $2 OYNO catalina
$15.01 - $25, receive a $5 OYNO catalina
$25.01 or more, receive a $10 OYNO catalina
contact the store for a list of participating items

I'm thinking it is the same deal because the deal in the ad is a CAT not an instant discount.

Also need to find out if that $10 OYNO has any restrictions. I was really peeved a few weeks ago when the Cottonelle $5 when you buy $15 OYNO was on a $50 purchase AFTER all coupons.

My coupon has a pic of the pouches and says, "premium pasta sauce. Available in 3 varieties" So I would assume the wording is only for the pouches too. But I only found 2 varieties of the pouches. And at this point, I still have plenty of pasta sauce!

When I went in last night to use the last of my doublers I got the $5OYNO Cat from Coke/etc. I bought 4 Kraft Shreds, 2MC Seasonings and a thing of Peanuts. DH was with me and he said did you just make $$ on that? Yep $3OOP & $5OYNO. He doesn't go to the store with me often but he is amazed when he does. Hehehehe.

I haven't been to Albertson's this week yet (there wasn't a whole lot of good deals that caught my eye) but here's what I plan to try:

(4) Dasani 24 pk
(10) Vitamin Water
(2) Best Foods Mayo
(4) Kraft cheese slices
(2) Fruit by the Foot
(1) Oroweat bread (to get my total after q's over $50)
Subtotal = $54.79
Less MQ's -4.50
Less Store Q -5.00 (off any order over $50)
Total = $45.29
and get (2) $10 onyo cats

at least I'm hoping 2 $10 cats will print out if I do this all in one transaction.

The pouches are indeed part of the deal. So, if you can wait til Sunday and can use the doubles, 13 pouches will be free if I figured it right.

Coupons have no effect on whether you get a catalina or not. Some cashiers will just say that because they don't know what went wrong. Something that you bought as part of your $25 must not have worked. Either you purchased something that was not the right size, flavor, etc or you got an item that was correct and just was not programmed in their system correctly. If you want to list what you bought, we may be able to tell you what the problem was.

Still, it is a good deal however it wasn't what was advertised. I am going to stick to the Albertsons near my house, they seem more friendly.

I'm not sure if I should be militant and wait outside the store 6:55am like some thug with today's groceries ready to pounce at the first face I see (over my $5 coupon!) or.................................. ?

I was really starting to think this was one of those "tricks" commonly used to lure customers to buy or have things that were advertised at a "great" price but never in stock. I started to reminisce those days working at Safeway.... :giggle2: I learned a lot working there about other stores and their tactics.

If they don't have what I came for, and I can't make the deal work with something else on the list, I don't buy any of it. I go somewhere else and that store simply loses the volumn, and possibly future sales if it happens too often.

Sometimes I get a rc if it was for just one item.

My Albertsons (Renton/Fairwood, WA) had a display of Suave products that are part of the 'Spend $25, get $10 OYNO' deal. I ended up with 17 - 30 oz bottles of Suave shampoo for $4.50+tax (used $1/2 coupons, 3 doublers, and $10 OYNO)! But, of course, the cat didn't come out, even when they tried again at CS without using coupons, so they gave me a rain check for $10 off. They made up their own signs for the Suave and it included shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, and body wash. The shampoos were the '33% more' bottles so they thought maybe that's why it didn't trigger the cat. You may want to try at your Albies!

I just wanted to clear something up, correct me if I'm wrong. some are posting about using the bar S coupon in the ad, for 88cents, and using the $1/2 IP, and doubling it, well you're using two store coupons there, the 88cent ad coupon, and the double. Provided this deal has the same structure as this:

Compliments of Coke, Unilever & General Mills

Buy $25, Get $10
Buy $15, Get $5
Buy $10, Get $2

Not really, it's a push either way.

If you broke it into two transactions it would be:

Trx 1
6 @ $2 = $12
MQ -3
Doubles -3
Total OOP = $6.00
$2.00 Catalina

Trx 2
8 @ $2 = $16
MQ = -3
Doubles = -3
Total OOP = $10.00
$5.00 Catalina

Total OOP for both trx's is $16.00 with $7.00 in Catalinas The store nets $8.00.

The first way is $17.00 OOP with a $10.00 Catalina The store still nets $7.00.

I would check with the store to make sure it is following the payout structure above before attempting two trx's.

oregon

MQ -3
Doubles -3
Catalina from first trx -5
Total OOP = $1.00
$2.00 Catalina

Total oop = $11.00
+ Catalina = $2.00

Again tho, you should probably make sure the store will pay the catlinas at the lower rate.

I really don't see this as being a better way unless you have 1 more $2 MQ, then it is pretty much a push.

The "all in one" trx seems to be the best bet.

Doesn't this qualify for the $2 ONYO?
I didn't feel like pushing it at the time because they were super busy and I already asked for a price check (which was fruitful, ended up getting 3 Lipton sides for free). Is there a phone # I can call? Or am I wrong? TIA:biggrin:

I think I got cheated out of a cat but I'm not sure -- help me out? :wink7:
Here's what I purchased:
(2) Golden grahams x $2 = $4
(1) BC Brownie Mix = $1.25
(2) Chex Mix: $1.50x2= $3 - ($1/2 + doubler)= $1

Total $6.25

I believe to get the $2 cat it has to be over $10.

Oh ok, thanks! I wasn't really there for that deal and sort of started heading that way once I got there, so no big! I *did* however, win a $5 discover giftcard from inside one of the golden graham boxes! It's a general mills promotion inside the specially marked boxes; 1 in 10 is a winner up to $25. I made $3 on that box of cereal. :hysterical:

They are wrong. The Suave shampoo just wasn't coded in. It's always better to take it to CS than argue with the cashier. If you see a cashier with long curly brown hair, go to her! She's the BEST. Stay away from the younger gal with brown short hair. The guys are good cashiers, too. There are only a couple cashiers that I stay clear of at this store - I love the Fairwood Albies! I went to the Customer Service!
Maybe they had someone there that didn't know what was the rules or something. :shrug7:.
Well I'm going to stick to my dinky one in the Highlands. They are always nice and helpful. In fact one girl help me get $6 back when the $3 savings didn't kick in last week. I hate being a pain but.... :whistle67:
I decided to scan and email my receipt and Catalina to customer service on their website... we'll see how it goes.

Yup! 3 peeps from the Renton area! LOL.

Ok update:

I was contacted by the store manager and said that some coupons I have used would not work due to some glitch in the system. He said to come down and collect my $5 coupon.

My faith restored........ :BigHand:
Now with these coupons and all the Manwich I will buy next week I am totally hooked up with most of my favorite goodies...LOL!:wink7:

I went to do the buy 25.00 get 10.00 back today and I bought 26.00 something in items that were all included and I used coupons for everything Like I do every time I shop and I only got a $5.00 cat , so I went to customer service she said it was cause you used all thoughs coupons I said no I do this deal all the time when you have it I never shop without coupons and have always gotten my $10.00 RR , I mean I planned this out perfect , so she called some else she said the same things I stood my ground wouldn't move and she told the other girl just give her $5.00 cash ,
I know what I did was right but they thought they were right too, Now what can I do about that ? I love to shop at that once cause they have great meat mark 50 percent off all day long I got steaks today for 1.00 and hamburgers for 2.00 bucks premade ones I love that store but I can't shop there if they have no clue what they are doing .

Well that is easy for them to prove, they could have re-rung your order without coupons, to see if the $10 Cat came out. I think there was just a problem with this one.
