I was SO excited to go to use my triples I was there first thing this morning! But very disappointed. I know I shouldn't complain as triples are so rare, but A&P has got to be the worst place to have triples. I definately would have done better @ SR or PM. Nothing really good. The regular prices are so high, and almost nothing was on sale that there are coupons for. I have some awesome South Beach 75 cent q's & they don't even carry the product! Even with 75 cents tripled to $2.25 not a whole lot was free, or even less than $1. Usual suspects were free: condiments like french's mustard, tobasco sauce & carolina rice . Only interesting things: Land O Lakes spreadable butter & velveeta cups were free & that's about it. I hear there's a 55 cent q for Healthy Ones sliced meats in Sunday's inserts, and they are on sale 3/5, so they'd be a penny, which is awesome. So holding out hope when I get there again on Monday they will be in stock!
Sorry for griping, but I knew you'd all relate! :smile:

I agree there is not much, but since I am still building my stockpiles, there are some things I can use.

From another thread under A&P I posted the following. (Good Breyers yogurt deal at the end):
I just got back from A&P. Two orders.
The first was 91.49. OOP wasa $29.xx. Lots of Cheerios and Apple & Eve, plus yogurt, mustard, etc. I got $8.00 off my next order due to the General Mills deal (had to go to Courtesy Counter to get the second $4.00 cause I messed up).

The second was $67.93 before discounts, $6.87 after!! Best big (over $50.00) discount I've ever had. Lots of yogurt, carolina rice, Apple & Eve, and even some cookies (no coupon).

Breyers Yogurt.
$.40 each. There is a $.50 off 4 coupon out there.
So $.40 x 4 = $1.60.
Minus $.50x3 = $1.50.

I've been very happy with triples so far this week. Still wish they would have done dollar doubles insteadbut I'll take what I can get!

The small Suave deodorants are 1.39 and the 75 cent q from the Unilever insert a few weeks back has .75/1 qs that have been tripling to 2.25- odd since they usually only triple up to the reg price but I'm happy with the 86 cents overage on each one!

the suave deodorant still gives overage! they are priced at 1.39 and 1.59 at the 3 stores i went to in ny.

i was going to use the overage on coffemate, when i went to get it there was a sign, 2 for $6, but it rang up at 5.19 (i can't believe i used to pay those prices before i found this site!!), so i got it for free, since it rang up incorrectly! i quickly grabbed 2 apple & eve juices (to cover the overage from the 2 suave) & my oop was .28! :)

a bit of a rant...i still have a few whole fruit sorbet rain checks, with the .75 q tripled will make them .25 each, but 2 stores were out, one store put something else in its place and the other only had mango & coconut that i don't like. grrr!! hopefully i can find it this week!

Have you found the "Dad and Grads" booklet at the end of the registers or in CS area? Tons of store coupons in there. There's a $1/2 Tastycakes store q in there- they are on sale 2/$4 this week- 1.50/box is VERY good. Also a $1 off Colgate kids toothpaste or toothbrush. Use the 50 cent q from this past w/e SS along with the store q and get FREE kids toothpaste. If you can find the Bratz Colgate kids toothbrush they are on clearance for 1.24. use the 40 cent q from this past w/e SS along with the store q and get 96 cents overage- nice! Just remember only one like store q per transaction.

It's about 6x9 and color but printed on newspaper type paper. Says "Celebate your dad and grad" "with coupon saving up to $40.45" in big red block letters. It has 4 pictures on the front of...you guessed it...dads and grads. Both of my A&Ps have them at the end of the registers and at CS. Good luck!

PS to the woman on line after me yesterday, I had q's I would have given you (I noticed what you were buying) if you weren't so impatient, huffing & puffing , loudly asking the cashier if he'd be able to ring her up "some time today". Just like he said, it happens when they have triples! Man that makes me mad when people are obnoxious;from time to time, we've all stood behind people who "took too long" in our opinion. I should have just told her to read a magazine! LOL Just needed to vent, I know she doesn't read this board or she would have understood :biggrin:

i have been loving the triples this week...until yesterday lol...beware of crabby cashiers...no overage for me..she went through every coupon and price and took seriously over ten min to make sure i wasnt getting a penny over...and complained the whole time about it...not so fun so beware!!!! thank god i didnt have a big order but it really worked my nerves and im a very calm person but she was making me boil:biggrin:

My A&P in Carmel, NY isn't giving overage at all. I shopped on Monday with overages in mind and bought a few extra things to get me out of the negative total. I was expecting a bill that was $4.00-ish at most. Imagine my surprise when my bill came to $16.00! Ugh. The A&P in Patterson, NY isn't giving overages as well. That time I was a smarter shopper and my bill was 35 cents!

The betty crocker warm delights streusel weren't clearanced in my store in Fort Lee NJ:( Edwards singles were wiped out except for key lime pie:P The edge shave gel was 2.69 and the skintimate was 2.49...needed these for some care packages I am sending out...paid 44 and 24 cents respectively for each item after 75cent q...This store does offer overage BUT, only on the retail price, for instance...

Item X is on sale for 2.00, retail is 2.75...75 cent q would triple and give 25 cent overage
BUT say item Y is on sale for 1.70 and retail priced for 1.90, 75 cent q would only meet the retail price of the item(1.90)....HTH someone...

I think I did pretty well on my trip...price before club card was $140.XX...after $118.XX, and after q's $39.XX!

I bet it is clearanced it's just not marked. I would suggest taking one to CS. At 2 of my stores it wasn't marked clearance but I bought one anyway....they came up 1/2 price at both. HTH

Oh and I found the cinnamon swirl, and it was clearanced, thanks again cocoB.

Now just for those pesky dads and grads booklets i've been hunting down!

I've been having the same thing happen. My carolina rice coupons attached to the carolina mixes and the mix coupon attached to the rice. I thought I'd been duped as I was expecting them for free, took me a while to work it out...but it was all free.

Also the GM stuff does the same thing. I get overage only on the clearanced stuff, they have obviously fixed our registers - the hawk doesn't watch over me and demand to take every coupon and calculate it manually. Sometimes I have over 100 items on tripples and that gets ridiculous.

Rude people are everywhere; don't let them cause you any stress. My standard way to handle that is to say, "I'm sure the cashier will be happy to give you all the time you need or want, WHEN it is your turn. Right now, it's my turn and your interrupting is making it take LONGER than necessary. I am as entitled as you are to whatever time I need to complete my transaction."

i went to the one in mahopac & mohegan lake got overage on the suave deodorant. i used the self checkout, less hassle & no problems. wanted to make 1 more trip today but never shop at a & p and didn't realize they start their new sales on friday. oh well! :)
