Meat on Clearance?

I went to Aldi's yesterday (5/28). They had the Fit and Active Ground turkey, that is usually $2.49 / pack. It had a red $2 off sticker!! I got 8 packs for 49 cents each. The label on it said "use or freeze before June 2, 2009".Still had 5 days before expiration!! All their ground beef had the same $2 off sticker as well. What's up with that?
