This is an invitation only club through General Mills / Jewel Osco. Don't know how they're selecting people to participate. I received a Jewel Osco mailer with various coupons for products and $6 off $80. It also included information about this GM cereal club.

The premise is for every $5 (up to $25) of GM Big G cereals you purchase, you'll receive a Cereal Bucks code to enter at their web site. After you input 5 codes, you'll receive a coupon for $5 off two cereals. Offer ends 8/23/09.

Based on my own purchase experience tonight, it appears the $5 threshold will be calculated based on sale price, NOT preferred card price. I bought 3 boxes at $2 pref. price and received 2 codes.

Wait, it was based on shelf then...if you spent $6 sale (3x$2) that should only be one code, as it is on every $5 you spend in one order....

Yes, that is what I was trying to say. I have heard people differentiate between shelf, sale, and preferred. Sorry to confuse.

Thanks for clarifying. Generally we use the terms like this:
Shelf - The regular price if it was not on sale at all
Sale - The tiny price listed as the sale without PC
PC - The actual OOP you are being charged at the register

Like for catalinas where something counts towards a $$ amount, it could be like this:
Shelf - $3.99
Sale - $3.59
PC - $3.00

So you'd have $3.59 towards your promo total, but only $3 OOP. :D
