View Full Version : Albertsons (Dallas/Ft. Worth) ~ Vent 3 (ok, 5) reasons I'm officially done with Albertsons

1. They're no longer taking Walgreens RRs (or so last night's cashier claimed).

2. They can't seem to decide what their coupon policies are. See #1, and the rumors swirling that they're not going to triple any more, and all the problems everyone has been having that are posted in this forum. I know what my budget is, and I need to know what their coupon policy is in order to make my budget work. I can't get to the store and find out it's going to cost me an extra $25 today because they have a new "rule."

3. Those Kraft BBQ peelies. Let me tell you what happened last Friday. I go to the store, where the Kraft BBQ is on sale 10/$10. I load some up in my cart, take off the peelies to go check out at the self checkout. I start scanning, and the grocery manager literally comes running from aisle to tell the clerk "THOSE AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE TRIPLING!!!" and then they all run over to look at my screen. Okay, first of all, stop acting like I'm commiting a crime and drawing all this attention to me. It's your computer that's tripling them, not me. Second, I think we all remember a few weeks ago when the BBQ sauce was on sale for $1.xx (I can't remember the cents), and the Albertson's ad actually advertised that it was $.xx ($1.xx minus $1.05) after the in-store peelie tripled. So clearly those coupons ARE supposed to triple, and now you're just embarassing both of us (me, because you're treating me like a thief, and you, because you're acting like an idiot over $.70). To make this story even more ridiculous, the grocery manager then went back and peeled every single peelie off every single Kraft BBQ sauce on the shelf and the special display back by the meat counter/freezer. I'm not kidding -- go to the store at Coit & Arapaho in DFW to check it out (it actually ripped off part of the labels at the top of the bottle). RIDICULOUS. Thanks, I'll just take my coupons over to Kroger, where it's on sale for $1 this week and they don't act like lunatics about it.

4. Okay, I know this was only supposed to be 3 reasons, but let's talk about those ridiculously outrageous prices. Who are they kidding. And their B1G1 sales? Last night I looked at their B1G1 pre-seasoned pork chops. The regular pork chops were around $4.50 or $5 for a pack of 3. The pre-seasoned, B1G1 pork chops were around $12 for a similar sized pack of 3. What are they seasoned with -- gold? That's some pretty darn expensive seasoning. B1G1 my you know what... I really have no idea who shops there at regular prices, but you'd think that huge margin they're making would allow them to eat $.70 on BBQ sauce every once in a while. Geez.

5. And one more: I am still good and ticked off about the way they treated this girl in Denton. http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/albertsons-dallas-ft-worth-region/226586-gotta-vent-horrible-albertsons-experience.html

So adios Albertsons! I live within 5 miles of a Kroger, Tom Thumb, Sprouts, Natural Grocers, Central Market, Wal-mart Neighborhood Market, Super Walmart, Super Target, and Whole Foods. I'm cutting the cord.:wavehi:

I barely shop at Albies anymore - they closed the one by my house so now I have to drive for the deals. I also think there regular prices are ridiculously high. Not worth it. They scrutinize every coupon, which makes your order take forever and ours don't even double!

Um they RIPPED off EVERY single peelie coupon on the Kraft BBQ here in our store and this was the day after the ad came out. I mean I saw it happen and looked and every single bottle had either the remnants or labels torn from where all the coupons HAD been.

Ive sent emails to KRAFT and Albertsons complaining because I am SICK of their FRAUD and hurting the consumers like this.

You know, I really thought everyone would think I was crazy when I said they did that! I can't believe they did it at your store too. I seriously thought about taking pictures of the special display with all the tags ripped off and sending it to Kraft...

I went to an Albies that only did the top box on display. The rest had peelies on them. I wasn't even tempted to buy bbq sauce. I have like 10 bottles when they were on sale at first at Kroger. That will last us 4 years. :)

It was the Albies on 20 and Carrier in Grand Prairie, if anyone is interested.

I did contact the Albertsons corporate office and Kraft. I'll let you know what happens!

I am thinking that it must be every Alberstons that did this. The one I went to yesterday (544 in Murphy) I noticed no peelies on the BBQ sauce, yet I saw where they should have been.

I walked out knowing why I don't shop there very often.

I'd like to add another reason to your list!

So today i go in to get the Hefty paper products because it was too good of a deal to pass up. Well, when i get to the display, there is a paper sign saying that the coupons in their ad ARE manufacturers coupons and cannot be combined with any other coupons! Whaaaaatttt???!!! Where on the coupon does it state that its a manu. q. ? So they can just SAY that it is one and leave it at that? I still got 1 package w/my insert q. But thats just craaazzzyyy!

On the other hand, i did go to the bbq sauce aisle and although there were quite a few of the peelies peeled off, there were still a lot of bottles that still had the peelies. So i grabbed four bottles (because that's all they will double/triple) and got them for free and got a $2 catalina!

For verification on the Hefty...yes I went to get the cups as well today and was told I could not use the store coupon with the manufacturer coupon. I am getting there with Albies as well and their ever changing policies and high prices.

I just bought my limit of 2 $0.88 eggs and left with my 2 year old in tow...

Good times...at 35 weeks pregnant, I don't have time to argue with them about their crap...

I don't know about other areas, but there's been a huge promotion recently about how they've lowered their everyday prices on thousands of items here in So. Cal.

I do agree. They've been so high for so long that they've lost too many customers. I've never known them to double/triple coupons which makes it even worse.

Two suggestions...

Go at night when the teenagers are working.
Go to self checkout. The registar takes both coupons!!

I went to the one on Cartwright in Mesquite the other day and I got informed about the new no internet coupon policy. That just makes more work for them because if I cannot use my coupon I do not want their crap!:giggle2: Then they have scurry around put junk back. They do not put ads out, they are rude, and they never have anything in stock. They are full of it too because I went at 9 Wednesday morning before the ad was even delivered to my house and there were no ads and no HEFTY cups, plates, or bowls. One employee said they were out and another said if we were lucky, they would put some out later.

Tom Thumb has the Hefty items on sale for $1.50 each as well. I just gave them more of my business since Albies wants to be petty!

Well, you may just get your way and they will close all Albies where you live.

They closed in Houston over 6 years ago,
They closed in Austin about 4 years ago
and now there is 1 remaining one in College Station.

 They didnot give me the raincheck for the plates since they were out. told me i had to have the coupon to get the raincheck, so asked them to give me the coupon from their insert and was told that they were out of the ads, so no coupon no raincheck.:shrug7:

Check closely at the shelves. Most of the time, they have a tearpad with their coupons. I got a few knowing they would run out of ads.
