What is Fareway's coupon policy?

I plan to stop at a Fareway in the Des Moines area, so checked their ad online, which is different than the one I got in the mail. Will they accept the coupons if I print them off their ad? (or do they usually have the coupons available in the store?)

Will they accept competitors coupons such as Target? If so, will they accept both Target and a manufactuer's coupon together?

TIA!

Yanno, I never even thought of asking before, and when I saw the other thread, I was a bit surprised. I know they PM local GROCERY stores, but I've had them deny me a KMart ad before. This is something I'm going to have to "investigate." Sorry that I don't have an immediate answer.

I know my Fareway will match HyVee's ads. I am not sure if they will match other places. My Fareway also accepts IP's and there is no limit on how many coupons I can use. Hope this helps.

I see they have Smartsource coupons on their webpage, so I would think that would mean they accept IP's. I am very curious about the Target coupon thing, though.

My Fareway(Osceola, IA) will take colored IP's if they scan. They have a list of ones not to take and always check it first. They only comp Hy-vee here, but the nearest Target/Kmart is an hour away. I have never been restricted on how many coupons I can use, but they can limit how many of one item you buy.(I usually buy in groups of 10 and have never had a problem).

This question about using Target coupons was really naggin at me, so I just called my Fareway...They will take Target coupons. I did forget to ask if they could be stacked though.

I emailed Fareway asking about their coupon policy. This is what I received back...

Good morning. Unfortunately, I can only answer a portion of your coupon inquiry. The remaining answers would need to come from our individual Managers at each location.

Internet coupons – Yes, Fareway does honor most coupons printed from the internet.

Major Grocery Competitor Coupons – Customarily, Fareway makes the attempt to match major competitor prices and select items, where a coupon is not necessary. All items may not always be matched, so calling ahead might be a benefit?

If you print off one of Fareway’s Des Moines location ads, you are more than welcome to utilize the coupons. However, don’t forget that if printing is not convenient for you, our stores always try to have ads available near the front entrance to each store. (There are customers that do not receive a local newspaper, thus do not receive our Fareway ad.)

I just came from my local Fairway. I had no problem using IP the problem I had was the free produce when you buy 2 Kraft salad dressings. I was told that I can not use that coupon and the coupon for the salad dressing together.

I am new to the area and Fareway grocery stores. Do they double coupons?

No, Fareway does not double coupons. My local Fareway also will not take IP's...and they don't honor competitors prices...probably because I live in a small town and their only competition is a tiny little (not even super) WalMart. I feel like I'm getting the shaft here :giggle2:

Fareway in Evansdale does take IPs now :BigHand: but not for free items or high-dollar savings. They will match competitor ads. In the past they have matched Walgreens, Target, always Hy Vee. Recently I gave them a Target coupon and the cashier denied it.:shrug7:
