I didn't really see anything worth making a separate trip to Hannaford this week. Except we need to fill the water dispenser bottle and look for MIRs.

Lemons are 4/$1 probably at MB this week or usually.
1-1.25lb lobsters sound like Chix lobsters which makes over $5/lb expensive...off the boat is cheaper.
.49/lb for the chicken is probably pretty good if you eat those.
Cool Whip isn't bad but Shaws has it on the 10/$10 pretty often that I recall. ($1/2 blinkie out there right now too).
Strawberries might be pretty good.

I am sorry that you don't see these as good deals Ang....

But for some of us they are great deals, especially the lobster for those of us that are 8+ hours from the water.

Strawberries are $3.69+ here, sometimes 2/$4 (rarely),

and Chicken leg quarters are no less than $0.99/lb here EVER

So please be respectful of all of us are stuck with Hannaford as our only store, or one of few choices. :wink7:

Can you find chicken at Shaw's @ this price? I can't! I don't have a Market Basket. And summer's coming, so it's even better to stock up now. Often you can even find a markdown coupon on top of this great sale, which makes it an awesome deal! My MIL shops Shaw's exclusively, and pays way over a dollar for this chicken because that is what she buys. Also, as I've said a million times @ HCW, Shaw's is ~30 minutes away for me. It's not always worth the trip to save 2 bucks on chicken, especially when it's never this cheap.

Shaw's also has strawberries on "sale" for $2.50 each this week, so again, Hannaford's is cheaper.

The Cool Whip will be about $.60 each wyb 2 after coupon. Not a bad price if you buy this. Shaw's regular price for their brand is $1 each. I don't know what Hannaford's shelf price is.

If you're going there anyway to look for Q's and MIR's, you might as well save a little money on their sale items. It doesn't take that much more time to check out with less than 5 items.

Are you the same lady who said there was nothing exciting about getting a Hannaford in town...?

I'm not trying to be argumentative but its a 30min trip for me to get to ANY store so I might as well head to the one that doubles coupons. And honestly if the people who have said they shop at Hannaford didn't think the ad was exciting enough to post here I'm not the only one who thinks its pretty unimpressive if you've got other choices. Obviously if you have nothing but Hannaford you're going to shop there out of necessity. But thanks for ganging up on me over what I consider to not be a good deal. I'd give the same sort of feedback in another store, as its MY OPINION. Last I checked people did value feedback on whether deals were good or not, correct? Or are we just conforming to whomever posts first and what they think is a good deal?

Please remember that a great deal for someone may not even be a lukewarm deal for someone else, so it's impossible to post deals that are exciting for everyone. Back when I was posting the weekly deals for Big Y, I posted the deals. Some were good and some weren't even worth the time it took me to type it, at least for me, but I typed them anyways in case it was a good deal for someone else.

now that I've said all that, here's my take on the ad:

Thanks for posting Heather!! I've been doing Hannaford more lately. Even without the doubles, I've been spending less there than I do at Stop & Shop for my produce and meat. (no doubt though, that it's due to the fact that I can go to Hannaford solo in the preschool 2 hour time span, where my S&S trips usually involve at least one kid and most often 2 kids and a dh :wink7:)

I haven't seen chicken leg quarters for $.49/lb anywhere in forever - so will go and grab some of that, since we eat ALOT Of chicken around here. To me $.69 is a stock up price so anything less rocks!

Lobster is a fair price for around here too - $4.99 is the lowest that I ever see that go, and it's few and far between. I WISH I could get it 'off the boat' but the 4 hour round trip to do so would be a total waste of gas money and time!!!

I am the person that said Hannaford is not the best place to shop...I rarely find decent deals there. HOWEVER...

I would NEVER ask a person "What are you smoking?" when they post a deal that may be great for them...

If you don't like the deal, then don't do it...it's that simple. No need to razz a person for trying to be helpful...
