So I went this morning to get my free Extra gum and some extra goodies and upon going in I ifirst went to get the gum and was asked if I had the coupon for the gum to which I replied "yes" - the checker asked a manager if I could use it to get the gum free and he said yes. Then he hunted me down as I was shopping and asked for a copy of the coupon to check it, after about 15-20 minutes he came back and said I could only use one per transaction so I told him I would do 30 transactions and he said they would not allow that. I left without buying a thing and without putting away the groceries - I was HOT and had a 2 yr old with me that had waited 20 minutes. I went to another Albertson's up the road and got my goodies and went for gum last - when I got there I was told I could not use any of them "you have to 'buy' one to get one". I told her that has not been their policy before and she said ok but they would limit it to 4 coupons - I asked her when that started on coupons other then triple/doubling and rather then answer me she called across the store to another CS rep and asked if I could use the coupons, the CS said no. I explained they would get the same money back for it as if I had bought it myself but they said no...I bought my dr.pepper and my eggs as well as my free milk but no I'm SO DONE with Albertsons and their constant changing policies!!!!
Is anyone else getting this kind of feedback?

...I almost had that this morning when I went to get my gum. Luckily, the manager on duty knew the policy and the cashier that "Yes, she can use those" "Oh, I just thought it wouldn't work" is what the cashier stated...I then proceeded to let her know how the coupon works and why it does work for Albertson's as well as her till.
I had two kids with me, so I would have been hot as well, if someone told me no....
Sorry about your bad experience!!!

UPDATE - so I decided to try the one 22 miles from my house today in hopes that it would work. When I first came in to grab them I heard the self check out lady saying something about coupons that are off of 2 items on the bogo sale do not automatically work so I asked about the BOGO coupon on a BOGO item and she said yes. I went over to the register to allow the checker to take care of it and she said I couldn't do that. I told her the other cashier had said yes so she called someone to check and sure enough I got my 70 free packs of gum. As she hung up she said "in all 10 yrs I have been here I have told people they couldn't do that - I just wish they would make up their minds" - funny my thoughts exactly but I'm glad it worked. Sounds like I will be driving to that one from now on instead, they are always nicer and cleaner anyways.

When I went to get the cake mix a couple weeks a go I did 5 transactions. As they would only take 4 like q's per transaction. I used 20 q's for the FREE wrigleys gum at one time. It beeped and the cashier forced them through. I went back the following week and got 10 wrigleys for free with no problem.
I wish all store in a chain would get on the same page. Its a coupon get over it its not the end of the world...you still get the amount back from the manufacture, when you submit the coupon. This statement is referring to the stores not to any of yall on HCW.

I had the same sort of experience today at Albertsons. I did most of my shopping at one location but they were out of the Schick razors that were bogo and I had the bogo coupons. So my daughter and I went to another Albertsons nearby and they were out too. So instead of walking out empty handed I repeated a deal that I had done early on Hartz catnip mice for the kitties that were bogo for $1.99 and I had two $1.00 off coupons. Should have been free but the scanner couldn't read the coupons at the self checkout and when the Customer Service lady came over to help she told me that you can't use two coupons with a bogo item and wouldn't put them both through. What???? I ALWAYS use two coupons for a bogo at Albertsons! The manager came over and told me the same thing. Make up your mind people! So frustrating. Oh...and I didn't catch the mistake until I got home but the first Albertson's over charged me $10.31 as two of my bogo free (cereal and porkchops) items didn't ring up correctly and I was charged for both items. ugh.

By any chance are you up north near McKinney? That is where I am experiencing all this drama. Interesting thing is they double charge on so much and then put it bogo and yet say one 1 coupon - it is crazy... (ie. Playtex 36 ct. they have it at over $11 a box and BOGO but you could get it at for about Walmart$6 a box... so it isn't really free just overpriced initially). Drive me crazy. Sorry you got a rotten deal too.

same deal yesterday on the aussie shampoo and conditioner. B1G1 price was $4.2x something or other. Used two $2 coupons and the $0.50 store coupon and he wouldn't put it through. When I told him to take it off, guess what? He only scanned off one... the free one apparently, so it still charged me for one of them. I had to go back in to customer service desk to get the money back. Time waster.... but I did get the gum... he just put them through without a word.

Just wondering but did you get a different Aussie coupon (expired 4/30) than I did? My coupon was $2/2 (Free styler when you buy a shampoo and conditioner) I initially thought it was $2/1 but then had to re-read the coupon and figured it wasn't as good of a deal as stated! I left the coupons by the hair products, just in case anyone else wanted to take advantage but it wasn't worth it to me to pay that much OOP.
And I agree with everyone that they really need to decide what their policy is. Maybe we should all just print it out and give it to the managers! Do you think that would help? :whistle67:
