Hello guys, I know we all have our problems with this, but this was really my first time (with this problem)....They wouldn't give me overage on the ky coupons or on any other coupons. They told me the policy had changed and I told them, I don't think it has. But, I was nice and went on with my order. I saved 81%. I got soap, Gillette, smart choice, and axe shower gel, oh and TP tonight. So, I ended up not getting the KY, I told her to take the 10 off that I bought, only because I wanted to save them for another time. But, she took one off and added 3. I told her she was adding and so she took 3 off and went on, I told her I think she still needs to take 3 off and she insisted it was right. Even tried to show me. But, I just gave up and ended up having to take it to the service desk and they took it off.
Okay, the coupon policy on here, is it the current one?
Should I email deca and get a new one?

I love it, they just updated the coupon policy here...http://www.commissaries.com/inside_deca/publications/directives/DeCAD40_6_JN2007.pdf and it says.....
n. Valid coupons will be entered at the value stated on the coupon. If the value of the coupon exceeds the cost of the product, the customer will be given the full value of the coupon.
So now, I need to print it out and make sure they get it I guess, or have it in casese I have more problems.......

page 44, it's a beautiful thing! I'm so glad they changed the wording to make easier for the employees to understand. I'm printing out page 1 and page 44, just so they don't think I pulled it from some other stores policy even though it says "DeCAD" in the top right corner of the page when you print out pg 44.

Thanks for this. I have no problems with my store, but I will pass it on to my friends and family at other bases. I love that the new definition is so straightforward there is no wiggle room for debate. It's also in red text, which is awesome.:BigHand:
For those looking for it, it's on page 44 of the document, but for some reason comes up under page 48 when I skip to us using the adobe menu (hope that makes sense). It says the update was made on 4/2/09.
For those having issues with snarky employees, I say print this in color, and throw it at them at the first sign of resistance. DeCa has made it perfectly clear that YOU ARE RIGHT!
Happy shopping!:smile77:

They just did the same thing to DH today! They would not take the Pace coupon at all. No adjusting it down, no overage, nothing.... He had another insert coupon they refused too because the product cost less. He's not like me, he just put the items back and didn't fight it. Me, I would;ve asked for management and quoted DECA policy. Oh well, at least he didn't buy the products at full price.

Thanks so much for the info on the update, printed the revised version out (just the coupon chapter!) and replaced the older in my binder! I've only had one cashier give me problems with overage, and even her supervisor said adjust the price down. I was livid, but accepted it because arguing with them does absolutely nothing!

Don't accept it. What they're doing is not only against Deca policy, but also considered fraud as the commissary is not allowed to profit from sales. You're allowed overage, plain and simple.

I was there a couple of days ago and it turns out that all checkers (and so on) had to sign a piece of paper saying they know the coupon policy now and that they know they have to give overage. And, if the overage ends up being more than you owe, they have to call a Manager.....So, this is great!!!! But, I will still carry my policy with me!

Does the commissary have a right to put a limit on overage? Like if you special ordered A LOT of something and had A LOT of coupons to go with it, could they just say no? Also, why hasn't anyone ever just ordered like 500 or 1000 of these trials when these deals come up? It seems like most people do 100 or less. I was wondering if there was a reason. Thanks everyone!

Well... IDK about everyone else, but I wouldn't order more than a hundred let alone 50(unless it came in like a case of that amount) so they don't give me dirty looks and heavy sighs. I get enough as it is when I come in with 30 coupons with MAYBE 10 being overage. The most overage Q's I've used a time was 20, and those were the ONLY coupons I used heh.
I don't think they can(with following their own policy/rules) tell you "no" though. It's policy, it doesn't state you can over get up to xx overage or anything.

I think each store can set a limit and definitely if they think you might be abusing the policy. Ordering a 1000 of anything would surely scream abuse in my opinion. They can easily ask why you need so many because it is only for you to use. If they think you are buying too many of one item to resell or for others they can tell you no also. I think our store may soon set a limit of how many of one item you can buy because this lady was clearing abusing the Marcal coupon. The coupon apparently scans the full 5.99 off the Marcal big pack but clearly states on the coupon only up to 4$ off. Well, she had about 15 of the big packs but was using the self check out so they wouldn't see the coupon. That register will be short about 30$ tonight when they count the coupon values and they will be upset. And I don't know if she works at the commissary but her husband is a bagger there so why she would do that, I don't know. They give me a hard enough time with valid coupons, but if she does stuff like that, they will just come down harder on all of us. Really made me mad.
