So ever since I joined this website I think I have developed a slight addiction to couponing!
I just can't believe I didn't do this sooner. I want to kick myself! I have already saved a lot of money in just these past several weeks.
But here's the best part: it's FUN! Yes, you heard me. For some reason I find it really entertaining to get the coupons, scope out deals, and then feel really accomplished afterward. :dance7:
I keep telling my mom about it, too, and I can't wait to go home and shop for her.
I look at the brag posts and am AMAZED at how much people get for so little! Seriously, I am in awe. Couponing is an art. The stockpiling forum knocks my socks off.
Anybody else? Am I crazy?

It was addicting to me at first, now though that I'vee been doing it for several years (hard core) I'm starting to slow down. Some deals are simply not worth the hassle you get at some stores. JMO.

Yes it is. I am new and I find myself looking at all of the deal matchings with coupons! If my DH hears me talk about another coupon I am not sure what he will do. I do find it very fun and the money you can save is AWESOME!!!!!!!!

I am totally addicted. My dh went from thinking I was crazy to supporting my habit. He brings me coupons, helps clip them, and asks to see my receipts when I come home. "What? You saved 80%?!? I KNOW you can do better than that!" :hysterical:
btw, I've been doing this hard core for almost 10 years. But I still learn new tricks-- thanks HCW!!

To me the greatest thing about it is that I can shop even when I am totally broke!! I've only been back into couponing (after a 20 year break) for a couple of monhs, but I am loving it. We've had such hard times financially for the past year or so, that I would literally cry sometimes when I was in the grocery store trying to get enough food on the little bit of money we had.
Now I go home with lots of food and spend barely anything! It's a real load off!

I'm still in the honeymoon phase and it's sooooooooo addictive. And so much fun! I genuinely ENJOY sorting my coupons, organizing my coupon book, working on my price sheet, tracking my savings, planning my shopping trips... DH is thrilled I have a hobby that actually SAVES us money instead of me spending it. I love the challenge of learning new things and finding the new "best deal" on stuff. So far I'm having a great time and I really hope I don't get bored because this new hobby is extremely good for our budget!!

i am still new to this but have turned several people on to it.One guy laughed at first til i took him with me and showed him how to get stuff for almost free-he was amazed.Others want to just buy me newspapers and have me do the work-not gonna happen but i do I have this one guy friend that does my yard work in exchange for getting him cheap stuff, not a bad trade since he does not need much. Since I have no social life right now this has become my social life.

Are you kidding me? I have the equivalent of my own superstore in my finished basement! :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
I actually have a room half the size of my basement with shelving all over it and I shop there when I run out of something.
I have been doing this almost 35 years now LOL.
I am sure everyone thinks I am crazy too, but they know who's "store" is always open and pretty much free when they need something.
Seriously though, I donate a lot of it to a lot of families in my area that are having a hard time these days.
It is the thrill of the huntdown though!:BigHand:

HAHAHA!!! This reminds me of something my husband did.
A few weeks ago I attended a Couponing workshop to learn the ins and outs of couponing. Well, it was about a 2 1/2 hour class. My husband texted me halfway through it and asked when my Couponers Anonymous was going to be over...:hysterical:

ADDICTED....

Hahaha, and people either thought I was crazy or had a really bad stomach bug at the store today getting my 9 packs of FREE toilet paper.
Yes, its very addicting.... The more deals I get the more I want to go back and get. How many boxes of brownie mix does one family need, really? lol.

Yes, it is an awesome hobby. Some of us need limits because we forget our budget while running from store to store getting our free stuff.
NAMELY ME!
So I allocate so much each month for my "play money"

It is most certainly addictive! My DBF says he is going to start a Coupon Widower Club for the men whose wives have been swept up into this addiction. :giggle2: A lot of my friends poke fun at me. I can't do anything without hearing "Whatever it was, I'm sure Terri had a coupon for it". I also have TONS of people asking how I do it and I just refer them to HCW. At least it is a healthy and good addiction to have. I have so much fun doing it and enjoy the rush from saving so much money!

Sometimes they will put it in the ad that they double. You could just ask someone at the customer service desk their policy if you are not sure.

I also am addicted to couponing. My DD says I am coupon crazy. ut she stopped in mid laugh when she opened the mail and found 3 $10 and 4 $5 coupons for pampers. I have not found a store close to me that doubles :( but I am still hopefull of getting some free deals. CVS has become my favorite place to shop for deals. Love this website.

After I put my daughter to bed @ 9:00 Saturday night I ended up reading posts until 4:30 Sunday morning...yes, I missed church. I called my Mom to come over & she went through my "goodie box" (all the things I got for free/nearly free) & ended up leaving with a 10 gallon storage tub full of shampoos, razors, lotions..etc. She told me I had a problem & needed help...Anyone know of a Couponers Anon. meeting...ha ha

Yes, I just started, oh about month ago, and I am totally addicted. :shopping38: I love the rush of saving SO much money. It's such a high. I never understood when people say they LOVE shopping and that it's 'retail therapy'. I just never got that high spending money. But I do understand the shopping and SAVING money!:dance7: It's gotten to the point that the DH calls it my shopgasim!:excited2:He jokes and asks if I had any shopgasims today. Then I get all excited all over again showing him what I got and for how much.

Hey just read your post and want to say I've been at this about 3 weeks and I literally cannot wait for the sunday paper to come out. I think about it everyday and I'm addicted to HCW!!!! I teach school and I'm like practically running down to the computer between classes to check on the status of my trades! It is terrible! :)

I am glad I found this site. I believe I was beginning to live in CVS for a while but only go there occasionally now my hot spots are ACME and Shoprite. I guess its better to have more food than shampoo my thinking... Well my stockpile is getting there not as many as some of the piles I have viewed but for me pretty good. I even had DH put in a new shelf in the pantry for my extra Cereal not goes to the ceiling.... ha ha... I do find it gives me an adrenaline rush sometimes ha ha...

I never really had problems with spending more than I should. I'd rarely buy anything full price and if I did, it would be like $1.87 for a bottle of shampoo. Like everyone else said, it is fun. I think the best part for me is finding good deals on clearance and using a coupon with it. Those are the most gratifying for me. I recently just bought a detached condo with my sister (we're both 21... twins obviously), we both work part time in a grocery store, and we need all the help we can get. I'm so thankful I was able to find a forum such as this one!
