Dh just called me and the commissary has tyson boneless skinless chicken breasts with a sell by date of today at .98 a lb! They are in packs of 2lbs each and they are limiting people to 8pks. I wonder if they just found a bunch in the back or something :giggle2:
He just happened to pop in there because they needed something for work. This is ft. mcpherson if anyone is local.
I haven't seen chicken that low in a long time!

My store does this on a pretty regular basis. Whenever I go I keep an eye on the exp dates and will make sure to stop back in the evening before or day of to see if it's marked down. My store goes through dry spells (I think they forget to do markdowns), but it's regular enough to where an astute shopper never has to pay full price. Every so often, if things are really good, they'll also have Qs attached. I've seen .50/1, $1/1, 1.50/1.
Today they had 10lb bags of leg quarters for 3.60 AC! I picked up some bone in breasts for .65/lb. The meat guy was nice enough to give me a few 1.50 Qs so I got two packages of breast (the only 2 marked down) for under $1!! I also got some drummettes for 1.14 (no coupons).
I was super super lucky one time and got Boneless Skinless for .40/lb after coupon. The same price for wings, thighs, drums, livers, whole chix too. I bought so much chicken that day we're just now finishing it 4 months later! I think I spent maybe $15 on it all before KY overage.
A long post, but I wanted to share. I've told all my friends out here about my chicken secret, but they're too lazy to keep an eye out. Maybe other stores do the same, so be on the lookout!
