Hi I'm vacationing in Roosevelt, LI and am trying to find out what are the best stores to go to. I've seen a Pathmark, Western Beef and Compare Foods. I know where the Walmart is but have never seen them do double coupons. Please help.

I shop at CVS, RiteAid, FreshDirect (I know, no qs, but sometimes they really do have the best deal), Food Emporium, and Whole Foods. I find that I keep my qs with me so that if I see a store that I know has a sale, I can duck in.

I don't have a car, so that's the trick - how to be most efficient without spending extra subway $! I'll be getting an unlimited ride card soon, so that should help..

My biggest challenge is figuring out which deals aren't in Manhattan and which are - especially hard with CVS. :shrug7:

Pathmark has double coupons and is having another $.77 cent sale this week. I don't shop at either of hte other two store you mentioned, so I can't tell you anything about them. We don't have a super walmart on LI, so-limited groceries there. good luck!

There are a ton of differences between Manhattan and the island. My brother is in Manhattan, and there prices are about $1 higher for everything in the identical sale flyer! There is no fresh direct or food emporium near me :-(. If you are trying to figure a cvs deal, I would post a question in the forum. THere are a ton of people here who rock the cvs sales (I don't do CVS), I'm SURE they can answer your questions. Good luck!

Hi, I am from Queens NY also, Yes there are times we do grocery in Long Island, the pathmark in NYC seldom double coupons. But Pathmark outside NYC doubles them even waldbaums stores.

I used to live in Bellmore- i'll have to PM you all when I visit again! Half the reason i moved off of LI was due to the high cost of living. I'm in Kansas now, but my Mom and little sister still live there so i visit as often as possible.

I know they are more expensive but of course i only go there when they have great sales good to see some island ppl on here.

Welcome to HCW! I'm in Patchogue. Yes, I shop at king kullen only for good sales with double $1 Q's. They have a lot of coupon rules though (only use 2 identical coupons for identical items, only double 5 $1.Q's) Still, I go when it's a super deal. I mostly shop at pathmark and waldbaums. I used to be there in Bellmore as well. Man how I miss a cvs on every block and the stop and shop self checkouts and catalina deals! You don't know how lucky you are! The prices here in Horseheads, NY are just as high as Bellmore, but there are less stores and all so far away. Aahh when you hit up 4 cvs's in a 2 minute drive next time think of me lol. As I drive 45 minutes to end up with 2 rainchecks! :)

The prices here on LI are horrendous! I can't stand it! I'm out in the middle of LI and have a Stop & Shop right around the corner but my fav store is Pathmark....find their sales are the best.........altho King Kullen doubles $1 coups so if you catch a sale you can score some FREE stuff!!!

Have you checked out the new Uncle Guissepes' in Port Jeff yet? It's GORGEOUS!!! Not sure where you are but they do take manf coups but not internet AND watch out............I had a coup for a free Hood Sour Cream and the air head kid didn't scan my coup and I didn't notice till i got home! There's $2 I won't get back! lol

I left when I was 19 and not paying attention to what groceries cost but after couponing in Missouri for 18m now Im sure Id be shocked at the prices. I hit a store i frequent and asked if i could have the inserts from papers they dont sell sunday nights. if the store doesnt have to send them back to Newsday they should do it, if not go to dumps recyeling area and you can get lots there! HTH

Hi there! Took me 2 days to try to log on to respd to you! Lol I'm about 10 mins away in Farmingville. I freq the PM in PJ when I shop w/my aunt. This week I went to the one in Medford. I also went to Waldbaums but apparently their rules aren't the same as PM but did super well! Hoping to get to either one some time today!! Nex to my son, coupons are my my fav thing to talk about!! Lol
