Yes that is after the 2.00 instantly. I see coupons on Ebay for 1.00 off mashed. I would have got them but I have 3 full size freezers full.

The Post cereal 5/$10 will go well with the Post cat deal here http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/giant-eagle-catalina-deals/227984-post-cereal-giant-eagle-catalina-3-27-4-19-a.html .

I hope this includes the Trail Mix Crunch but I have my doubts.

Scenario?

$12 - 6 Post cereal
-$3 - 3 $1/2 q's
$9
-$5 cat
$4 oop

$8 - 4 Post Cereal
-$2 - 2 $1/2 q's
$6

I just got the ad - says save up to .98 on 2 reddi whip; save up to .56 on 4 parkay; save up to $1 ea on the Pam and SAve up to $2.17 on 3 gulden's.

So, best scenario I can see is:

2 Pam - $7.98 shelf - $5.98 actual
1 Reddi Whip - $2.49 shelf - $2 actual

Use 3 $1/1 q's, pay $4.98 and get $3 cat.

If the Honey Comb Cereals are included in the Post deal (I know they are not listed in the ad, but neither was half the Kelloggs that were on sale this past week...) there are $.55/1 Q's out there. 5 @ $2.00 = $10.00 Less (5) $.55/1 Q's doubled = $5.50 = $4.50/5 boxes + get $5.00 CAT = MM! And if you start with a $3 CAT makes it even better!! Now let's hope that the 'selected varieties' means more than just what is listed is on sale.

I just started doing the cat deals, and I don't want to ask a dumb question, but how do you know what varieties work?? Just trial and error?

For the CAT itself, the print-out I received says 'ANY' Post cereal so they should all apply, but for the 5/$10 sale price they should be marked at the store. The ad lists only 2 varieties, but sometimes more varieties are included in the sale price. The ad wording says 13oz. Fruity Pebbles or 13.74 Waffle Crisp selected varieties. There may be more included. HTH!

I just started doing the cat deals, and I don't want to ask a dumb question, but how do you know what varieties work?? Just trial and error?

In addition to what Jen said, I always go look at the shelf where the product usually resides to be sure of the price. I don't trust endcaps with signs - sometimes someone's left something in the wrong place. Unless I know for sure, either from the printed ad or from the pictures on the sale sign hanging next to the stuff on the endcap, I will always grab a box off the end cap, go to the aisle & shelf where it is normally shelved, and check the UPC off the box off the one on the shelf tag (the UPC numbers are at the bottom of the shelf tag above the sale price hanging part). Once I've confirmed then I load up the cart with whatever I'm getting that day. This also helps saves the hassle of a trip to CS for missing CATs or pricing different than the ad, plus gets you the exact shelf price for any deals that have spend $x get $x OYNO. The only time this doesn't work is occasionally early on Thursday mornings when they are still putting the sale hangtags on the shelves - then it's either guess or wait til later til they're done or next trip.

I bought some of the cake mixes last week (at Kroger when it was 10/10) and the boxes I bought have dates from Nov 09 to Feb 10, so 7 to 10 months from now.

I agree this is a hot price for cake mix & I plan to buy more this week! It complements all the MM betty crocker frosting I bought a few months ago!

If you have a Giant / PA near you, they have little bottles for .88 every day price that you can get for free with your .50/1 Q. The Altoona GE price for the same bottle was over $1 so it isn't free. I don't know if I ever checked at Weis (since those stores may cover people in this same area).

Did my weekly Thursday morning trip at the Waterfront GE-

Post Cereals - Honey Combs are included in the sale price 5/$10 and are generating the $5.00 Cat. Trail Mix is not included in the sale price... :(

Kelloggs Cereals - Frosted Flakes, Frootloops, and all the ones from last week are still 4/$10.00 and are still generating the Milk Cats.

If you have the Pepsi rebate Q's, Tostitos are 2/$6, the $3/2 is a nice way to get two cheap bags of Tostitos.

The Keebler Cookies are on EPR.

Franks Red Hot little bottles are 2/$3.00 there - No freebie for me!

Texas Frozen Garlic Toast is on sale 2/$7 with $.40/1 Q, but Pepperidge Farms is on sale for 2/$5.00 with a $.40/1 Q. 8 ct each. I know its not a great sale, but just thought I'd mention it.

Ok, LOL Sounds too good to be true :-) Wish I would have been paying more attention to that, I would have ordered a bunch more coupons. I have enough to get 15 boxes though! If only the expiration date was just a little longer on that coupon!

DH eats them, but I doubt he'll eat 15 boxes - he's not a cereal eater like me. I'm sure the food bank would love to get them though. DH went to work today to get the trucks ready for Monday - so I have to wait for him to get home...I don't want to drag the two little ones out while their sick just for cereal LOL

Here are some other deals that I found today:

zone bars $1.25 - .55 doubled = .15 (not great, but a good price)

wheat thins artisan cheese crackers 2.00 - 1.00/1 (coupon on shelf)= 1.00

pillbury pizza crusts 2.00- .55/1 (doubled.. coupond found on grands bought last week)) = .90

I got a catalina coupon for 1.00/1 lean cuisine, so I used that on the $2.50 lean cuisine = 1.50

the kids danimals crushable yogurt is $2.00 and I believe there are .55/1 coupons out there

I also bought 6 packages of kozy shack pudding 2.50 -1.00/2 = 4.00/2. I then used the movie codes on the packages. I entered them online for one free 9.50 movie ticket and 1 (out of the needed 5) codes for my 2nd ticket. You can get 3 movie tickets for each address. It said I could print the ticket immediately.

I also saw some .55/1 hefty trash bag coupons on the boxes, so 3.00- .55 (doubled) = 1.90

activa yogurt is $2.00- 1.00/1 coupons ( had some in front of the yogurt) = $1.00

I just made a quick trip today.. I hope it helps someone. :)

Do seperate orders....
You can try to roll that cat onto the next set of 5 cereals - KWIM? Buy 5 cereals with your Qs and get a $5OYNO.
Buy 5 more cereals and use your Qs and the cat you just got.
But remember, you will need some "fillers" to get your total over $5 to be able to use the cat.

At first I bought the cereal and no cat printed then the Pam another and trans and no print. The green light was on on the machine. Went to CS for a rering and they printed. The cat machine at register one was not printing! So, when in doubt, go up to CS for a rering!

HTHOne reason an expected Catalina coupon might not print is because there is something wrong with the Catalina printer.

Each and every time that I check out with an order where I am expecting a Catalina coupon to print I hold my breath knowing that there is always a chance that there is something wrong with the Catalina printer.

+

If there is a problem (no Catalina coupon prints), I make a beeline to the Customer Service Desk and ask them to re-ring the items to see if a Catalina coupons prints.

It it does print, they usually give me the Catalina coupon.

They then can void that re-ring.

Just got back from GE - got this unexpected deal.....

Tuna 9*.79 = 7.11
Tuna Helper 9*1.75 = 15.75
Total before Qs = 22.86

coupons
9.00 -Tuna Qs (peelie) -save $1 on this tuna wyb Tuna helper
3.00 - Tuna Helper Qs (peelies) - save $1/3
12.00 total

22.86-12.00 = 10.86 for 9 tuna helpers and 9 cans of tuna

GE's register usually automatically adjusts the coupons so that you don't get overage, but these rang up as $1 even though the tuna was .79.

I did this cuz we love tuna helper :)
But on the way home I was thinking that I should have just gotten the peelies and then waited for tuna helper to be on sale..... hmm. Well, live and learn!
